Eamon’s released
Dixon had left the hospital pretty late, that’s at the early hours of the morning. Feeling so weak and tired and all he need was a good bath and just try sleeping if it's gonna work.
Albert didn't say anything after the doctor left, Linda cried and fainted.
Waking up, she fainted again and that was how it went until he had lost count and she had to be admitted to the hospital.
The family she had been trying so hard to fix the falling in front of her eyes.
He didn't want to leave but the thought of Maeve kept her making him go bad home.
Just to see her.
“You’re back.”
“Yeah, is she awake, is there any sign?”
Dr. Green shook his head.
“She’s not, there hasn't been any sign at all.”
He walked away from the door and enter the room she was still on the bed.
He squat and held her hands. Kissing them.
“Am still waiting for you. Wake up soon.”
He kissed her forehead.
“How sir Albert?”
“He was poisoned.”
“How come?”
He sat on the bed, with her hands in his.
“Turns out, he was given poison to drink for the past three years, and the poison goes into his mind and he only does what he's told off by the person who gave him the poison. He listen to him alone and became his puppet.”
“Do you have an idea who the man is?”
“There was only one man. Who would do this to him? He trusted him and listen to him, doing everything the man asked him to do. There's only one person who fits into that description.”
“And who is that?”
“Peru.”
“Peru? There's only one famous Peru, don't tell me it's him.”
“Definitely him.”
He clutched his fist.
“Then What you said about him being manipulated. Maybe he could have been the one telling Sir Albert to have you disowned.”
“It could be, he never did like me anyway.”
“You said it yourself he was manipulated.”
“Even till now. I don’t wanna talk about it anymore am sick of it already.”
“I pity Linda so much. She's the one suffering from all these.”
Dixon kissed her hands again.
“Haven’t you forgiven her yet? You should, she’s your mother. You can’t change that. And you can’t change the past either. Just see it this way, if she hadn’t done that, you might have never got to meet Maeve. Never got to be together. And you know she’s been a lot is helpful since you got out of prison just to show you how much she has regretted her actions and wants you to forgive her. I think it’s time you should. That’s what she asked me to tell you.”
“How did you talk to her?”
“It’s not now but before this incident happened.”
He nods.
He did notice, she had helped him a couple of times, cried, and pleaded. With him.
He knew he had to forgive and move on. He already did.
He had to stop holding grudges with her. Right now she’s was suffering so much.
Seeing at the hospital, he saw how thin she had been.
His mother. He would forgive her, his priority right now is the girl in front of him.
And introduce her to Maeve though she had seen her, their encounter wasn’t that good but maybe this time. It gonna be good.
He didn't reply for a while.
“She needs you now, more than ever. She needs you beside her.”
“She needs me more than ever and I'm not gonna step away from her side, Bruce could take care of her. I’ve already forgiven her. I just need to focus on her. I want to stay by her side forever if there’s anything as forever.”
“Maybe there’s is something as that.”
“I pray there is. I just want her to wake up.”
“She would. But I think you should give it a thought. Her birthday, go and spend time with your family, it might be the last time you would get to spend time together as a complete family. If you choose to ignore you might end up regretting it.”
“I’ll go, with her. I want to bring her along with me. Show her to my family.”
That left Green’s mouth wide open. Without a word coming out from it.
“That what I want to do, introduced her to my family. I don’t wanna hide her anymore. Detective Sean is already aware.”
“You sure about that. Won't Linda be mad? She wanted it to be a family thing.”
“She’s family when I was disowned. She had been there keeping me company. We've been through a lot together and there's still going through more but we're gonna triumph. Together.” he laughed a sad one.
Green tap his shoulder.
“Be strong.”
“I’ll..”
“You’re going to meet Eamon right?”
“Yeah, I promise to introduce her to him when he's out. And I have to fulfill it. I'll bring him yet. Maybe he could stay for a day or two, I don't know yet. When he's here we get to talk about it.”
“You were always talking about him. He seems to be a nice guy. Can’t wait to see him in person.”
“He’s a nice guy, he made me stand up for myself the first time we met. Because I had to protect from the bad men in there. The first day he came to prison. He was so scared I kinda felt better, that there was someone I was better than.”
He chuckled.
“And now you two are best of friends.”
“More like brothers.”
Green nodded.
“Ain’t you gonna eat anything.”
“I don't have an appetite for food now..” he stood up. Placing her hands carefully by her side.
“I’ll get going.”
“Better be awake before I get back,” he warned and kiss her softly on the lips.
“Love you Maeve.”
“Okay.”
He walked out of the room and shut the door behind him. He leaned on it for a while.
Until he eventually left the house. Hoping into his car and drove away from the house.
“....and we have now declared Eamon peters. Released...” Dixon stood up from where he sat. Clapping his hands. Eamon similes when he saw him. He wanted to run and hug him but he couldn’t do that yet.
“And sincere apologizes from the persecutors..”
They apologize to him. For the injustice, he had faced in there.
Eamon wipes his face with his hands. Cleaning the tears off his face.
“Court dismissed!”
Dixon came out now. And they hugged. Crying on each other shoulders.
“I’m free Dixon, I’m free.”
“Yes you’re, you’re free.”
He Cried the more.
He pulled away from him.
“I’m finally alive again.”
“You’re..”
“Thank you, you did everything. You helped me. What would I’ve done if I didn’t get to meet someone like you.”
“Absolutely nothing..”
They chuckled.
“I need to go get my stuff..”
“Sure. I’ll be waiting.” Eamon nods and walked away with the officer.
Dixon was glad he was out, and now he had to find a way to put his life back together and live again. Though it won’t be difficult to get a job there’s still something he could do.
And he would help any way he can.
He waited outside the prison for him. Smiling. He had fulfilled his promise.
“Ms. Teresa. Hope you’re watching, I did it, it’s all on your you made it happen, you gave me a reason to live. If I hadn’t met you that night. I wonder what would have happened.”
“You seems to be living well Dixon. I know you could do it. I’ve faith in you. And I know you’ll find happiness at the end of it all.”
“Ms. Teresa?” He spun around. Searching for her. He heard her speak, he heard her talk to him.
A ghost?
Oh no!
What else would he see or hear?
“Hey!”
“Argh!” He shriek.
“Oh, it’s you Eamon.”
“What got you so scared.”
“Thought I saw a ghost.”
“A ghost?”
“Unbelievable right.”
“Let’s go.”
Dixon took his bag from his hands. Eamon struggles to get it back. But he won’t see to it.
He had to give up, letting him have the bag. Dixon took it to the car. And dropped it in the back seat.
“You have a nice car.”
“Get in.” He smiled.
