Epilogue
“Cheers to a good life,” Mark said lifting his glass on the table. Everyone seated at the table lifted their glasses with a smile, Dixon's hands were intertwined with Maeve as he kept caressing them over the table. She smiled at him.
“Cheers.” They clicked their glasses. And sips from it.
Dixon stood up, still holding his glass.
“I wanna make a toast to the ones we lost on the way, the two important persons in my life, my first go to Ms... Theresa, without her playing her major role in our lives, this won’t have happened, and to the one who was more of a brother to me...”
“I still can’t believe you had another brother aside from me.”
“Shut up Bruce.” Linda laughed.
“Thank you for being there, and I hope you’ve found rest. Cheers to that.”
Everyone chatted over the table, and their life had never been this safe and peaceful and more reason Maeve was a human again and with her family. Mare had had her enrolled in a school since she would soon take over the properties and wealth of the Cartels. Which was originally hers, to begin with.
They left the table after they were done with the meal that had taken a vacation off town for a week, they did need it. Green walks with crutches now, cause his left leg was badly wounded. And there was a possibility of it never gonna heal.
The assassins who did all these were caught by detective Sean after he had begun investigating the case. Beryl was charged to court where she was sentenced to 25 years in prison. This she had taken gladly without complaints.
Standing outside the beach. Hand in hand, they watched the waters as it flows.
“I always wanted to go to the beach with you. And here we’re, a dream come true.”
“Whoever thought we would be here. That I would be this. Never in need of blood, never having the urge to kill. I had never been better.”
“We shouldn’t talk about the past.”
“Yeah, I know, but I couldn’t help it..”
“C’mon, Let’s feel her feet on the waters.” She giggled playfully running to the waters.
“That’s isn’t fair.”
“Nothing is ever fair to you!” She yelled as she ran. Running to get to the water first. He runs after her.
“If I catch you, I won’t spare you.”
“Catch me if you can.” She giggles more.
Running away from him, so he doesn’t get to catch her.
This is their love story, this is their story, a story where love travails. What is this love?
The love that makes you do the unthinkable, the love that keeps you going, the love willingly to make you fight. That kind of love.
And that was the love they had.
A love that persists against all odds.
And they were ready for a new beginning, a new life. A life where they had themselves.
“We never did believe this would happen.”
“We have already given up. Thanks to Eamon he’s the reason she is here now, he gave us hope. And he saved Dixon.” Mark replied Green.
“Just being with you guys, I’ve learned a lot about life. And I think I want their kind of love too, what do you think, do you think I should take her away now, besides she knew I like her, now would be better, I’ll take her away since she’s now human.”
“Seems you drink a lot. Give me that glass. You’ve had enough.”
“But that’s it. No way you take my glass. I’m not giving you. I haven’t even started drinking yet.”
“ and you’re already saying nonsense.”
“‘Me wanting Maeve isn’t nonsense. I mean who won’t want her. She’s pretty.”
“You’re drunk. Give me that.” He took the glass off his hands.
“I’ll take you inside.”
“How are you gonna take me. You’re not even stable, you that might fall off.”
“You’re crazy.”
Mark chuckled and looked ahead, watching them playing with the waters.
“He deserves it. He did deserve the happiness he is feeling right now, he had suffered a lot too. We all have.”
“Just go in Mark, or how about I bring you a bottle of water.”
“Whatever you say, but I’m not drunk.”
“A drunker would never agree he’s drunk. I’ll be back.”
He pulled Maeve off her feet and spin her around. She chuckled in his arms. Loving the feelings she was had. This was life. And she was living it.
He dropped her down on her feet. And smiled, looking at her eyes. She smiled at him.
“You’re mine, and don’t even think of going anywhere, cause I’m not gonna let you run away from my sight again.”
“I’m not going anywhere, If I wanna go anywhere I would take you along with me.”
“You better.”
She chuckled, and wrapped her hands around his neck, he pulled her closer to his body, they were both wet as their bodies touched. His hands went to her waist and still pulled her closer to her. Then he lifts her chin, slowly taking her lips, in a sweet savoring embrace. The kiss was passionate, and she felt, that was the best she had ever had. The best kiss he had given her. It was filled with so much love. She kissed him back just in the same rhythm. He pulled her legs over his torso and lay her back on the sand and keep on kissing her.
“Take your eyes off them, c’mon let’s go in”
“I feel like I was the one being kissed.”
“I can see it in your eyes. C’mon, I can still drag you in.”
Mark rolled his eyes and walked into the beach house with Green.
He stopped kissing her and looked into her eyes.
“The best day of my life was the day I met you naked in my kitchen. I still couldn’t get it off my head.”
She chuckled.
“I liked you that instant.” She confessed.
“And I never liked it when you scolded me.” He chuckled and kissed her lips, she kissed him back.
“I love you Maeve Cartel.”
“I love you, Dixon Ambrose.”
They laughed at themselves.
“I wanna spend every moment with you, till forever comes.”
