Chapter 26

[Owen POV]
I had never seen anything like what was in front of me. My mate had ripped the ropes off of herself like they were made of string, and the ropes fell to her feet with a thump. I knew the one standing before me was Anaya the moment she spoke. Those words sent a chill over me. Amelia was not violent, the opposite in fact but Anaya was different. She was not just any wolf, and when I looked into her eyes I knew it. Her eyes were a frosted blue color, cold and determined. She was furious and out for blood. My father had stumbled back falling just out of the room and took off running and cursing. His beta on the other hand made the mistake of challenging Anaya striking her once across her face.
It was not enough to even faze her before she had her hand around his throat tightening her hold as he squirmed in her hold. She began to speak in a language I did not recognize, her voice seemed amplified like it was not even hers and with a swift twist I heard a cracking sound. The body of my father’s beta fell to her feet lifeless. She had killed him. I raised my eyes from his body back to my mate, she looked angry and not about to slow down now. She walked toward me and I looked up at her in awe.
“What are you? You are not just any wolf.” I say trying to keep my voice steady.
I admit I was freaked out by all this.
‘I am the white wolf, the bringer of balance and justice.’ She says to me.
What does that mean?
‘There is not time to explain everything now, we need to catch your father. I have seen it all and he will be the one to bring death. He must be stopped.’ She says gripping the chains locking me against the wall, and they broke in her hand.
Ok damn, that was cool!
“Wait what are you talking about?” I ask rubbing my sore wrists.
‘I have foreseen a great war, one in which many lives are lost. I had foreseen it long before Amelia was even born. She was chosen to carry the burden of being the bringer of peace, but things did not go as planned. It is all a bit much to explain now, please we must go!’ Anaya takes my hand and we run past the body of the beta and into the hallway leading to the exit.
Several men stopped us, and Anaya turned and gave me a nod.
Through our mate link she said, “I will fight them. Stop your father, we cannot let him escape!”
I nod in response and as soon as she sees my confirmation she attacks the men distracting them so I can slip past. Part of me wanted to fight along side her, but somehow I knew she could take care of herself. There were people running and shifting around me, confused and panicking. Night had fallen and the pack had gathered for my alpha ceremony, but when my father had come running out his anger had overtaken him and he threw tables and destroyed the venue my mother had planned for tonight. There was confusion all around and the amount of anger he was emitting was causing the pack to cower and try to get away from him. His scent was choking the air with his every growl.
I rushed toward him shifting as I went, and when I reached him I jumped on him. Through the mind link I warned the pack to get away and take refuge away from here, and they all ran toward the main meeting hall. I told Liam to bolt thee doors and keep everyone inside until I give him the word that it was safe.
“Where is Amelia?” He asks me through the link.
“She is fine, do as I say and protect the pack!” I reply, turning my full attention back to my father.
I had him pinned down and he was vigorously struggling under my hold. He was half shifted and digging his clawed fingers into my front legs. I growled at him in warning, he needed to submit, or he would be killed. Me in wolf form and he in half shifted form meant I was stronger, but not by much.
“Owen!” I heard my mother yell at me in horror.
“Mom get to the meeting hall now!” I yell at her through the mind link.
“What are you doing? What’s happening?” She pleads.
“Owen?” My sister soon runs toward us.
For goddess sake!
“GET OUT OF HERE NOW!” I growl making them tremble from the power in my voice inside their minds.
My mother whimpers and is dragged away by my sister. I watch them leave and in that moment I had loosened my hold slightly, but it was enough for my father to gash my front leg with his claws making me cry out. He moved beneath me and used his legs to kick me off of him, knocking me to the ground. I regain my footing quickly, but not before he also shifts and is now in attack stance in front of me.
“Back down dad!” I yell at him through mind link.
“A white wolf huh? Your little whore is fascinating indeed. When I kill you, I will have to see just how fascinating she can be!” he retorts.
This makes my blood boil and I do not hesitate before rushing toward him and with my canines on display try to rip out his throat. With a swipe of his claws he sliced a wound across my side. I can feel blood rushing from the wound, and I let out a whimper from the intense pain. I do not stop, and I attack him harder knocking him to the ground and pinning him once again. This time my hold is weaker as the pain I feel intensifies making my vision blur. He had cut mee deep enough where my body was beginning to weaken, I needed to kill him now before I lose consciousness.
A loud howl rings out from the right side of me and I see a red colored wolf come rushing toward us, snarling and growling as it came. Who was this? Even in wolf form I could see a slight smirk form on my father’s face. With me distracted again he pushes off me and we roll around biting and growling at each other. Soon I am pinned beneath him, and the red wolf is beside him snarling and ready to attack.
“I guess Brittney here prefers an alpha over an alpha want to be. Sorry son, looks like you will be completely mateless soon! Because not only will I take Brittney but I will take your mate as well. Imagine the power I will have when I break your bond and mate her myself?” He says with a dark laugh in my mind.
My father digs his claws into my shoulder as he holds me down and turns to Brittney giving her a low growl. The growl alphas use to force wolves to shift back not human form. She whimpers under his control and soon she has transformed trembling in human form.
“Father is waiting for us at the border.” she says trying to stand.
She stumbles slightly as he body adjusts from the suddenly being forced to shift. My father growled and snapped his jaws at her making her shiver in fear and drop to her knees.
“It’s time for you to welcome death son, too bad you didn’t have a chance to stop me.” My father said before snarling and lunging toward me with the intent to kill me.
I stopped fighting back, the lose of blood had only made me weaker and unable to fight back much longer. I had done what I could, I had locked the pack away and could only hope that they would fight back for their own freedom if they had the chance. I had not felt the bond between me and Amelia break, so I knew she was alive, and that was enough for me. I closed my eyes and prepared myself for the felling of my life draining away, and I let out what I thought would be my last breath. Instead I felt a presence, a sensation all too familiar.
My mate.
Before I could even open my eyes the weight of my father’s wolf was no longer holding me to the ground, he was no longer on top of me. I slowly blinked my eyes open and saw a sliver of white fur dashing past my line of vision. My ears were filled with a pounding sound as my heart beat harder to keep me alive. I was bleeding out too quickly, faster than my wolf could heal. I needed help soon, or my father killing me would be considered a mercy. I rolled over and slowly shifted back into my human form, holding onto my wolf form was draining too much energy. I shivered as the night air hit my warm skin. I opened my eyes more and saw Anaya wrestling against my father’s much larger wolf. He snapped his jaws at her which she gracefully dodged causing him to trip over his own feet and opening his neck to her attack. She jumped on his back and attached her teeth around his neck clamping down and causing him to let out a deafening cry of pain.
Brittney had shifted again and launched herself at my mate, scratching and biting any surface she could get ahold of. Bits of red streaked the white wolfs fur, but she dd not shrink back. It wasn’t until the red wolf dug her claws deep into my mates back that she was forced to release her hold on my father. She tumbled to the ground but instantly standing and shaking her fur as if nothing had happened and chased after the retreating figures of my father and Brittney’s wolfs. I lost sight of them as they disappeared into the forest. I let out a determined yet pained groan as I tried to push myself up off the floor. The area around me was eerily quite and the wind had even seemed to die down now. The only sound I could hear were the shaky breaths leaving my mouth.
I looked down and see my body is covered in slice marks and blood. My hand hovers over the gash in my side and with a deep breath I place my hand over the wound and push hard, hoping the pressure will help stop the blood from running down more than it has. I need to reach Anaya, she needs help! But with the first step I was crumbling down to my knees and my vision began to spin as I fell.
‘Don’t move anymore. You are too injured. Hang on, ok? Keep fighting Owen!’ I could hear Amelia’s voice in my head now, I could feel her touch.
