Chapter 47
(Amelia POV)
When I began to wake up again, my head felt like a million hammers had pounded me awake!
“We apologize for the after effects of mind and soul link. The effects should dissipate soon.” A voice said.
I tried my best to open my eyes, but the world around me was so bright that I just wanted to keep them closed and pretend this was all just a crazy dream.
“It is not a dream, more like your consciousness leaving your body.” Another voice said.
“Don’t scare her!” Yet another voice scolded the other.
With all the voices in my head now I was sure that I was losing it, but I was curious, so I gave in and opened my eyes slowly. After a few moments my eyes adjusted to the brightness of the room. Everything around me was pure white and the sunlight made everything look so bright and untouched.
“Where am I?” I ask to no one in particular.
“You have many questions little one, it is time for you to get some answers.” I recognized that voice from my vision.
I turned my attention to the direction of the voice to find four women standing not far off. Three wore deep red dresses while the last wore a dress as white as the room I was sitting in.
“Who are you?” I say scrambling away in surprise.
“We are the fates. This is the mon goddess Elena.” One of the women in red replied with a soft smile.
The woman they called Elena walked toward me and offered her very dainty hand to me. With slight hesitation I took it and she helped me climb to my feet.
“I know this can all be very disorienting, but it was necessary. Visions can simply be explained away, and many do not regard their warning. However, since this is so important it was best to speak with you personally.” The woman said as she guided me to a small white couch and encouraged me to be seated.
“I don’t understand. Am I dead? Is this heaven or something?” I ask.
A sudden sound of laughter surprises me and I jump in my seat from the sound.
“Oh, I am sorry! I didn’t mean to frighten you, but no you are not dead! We simply summoned your conscious mind here. This is our home, the house of the fates!”
One of the other women said walking toward me with a soft welcoming smile.
He others followed soon after and sat across from me on another white couch.
“What do you want with me?” I ask still not sure any of this was real.
“We had shown you the vision of the future in hopes that you would understand. However, it seems we may have caused you more confusion, which is why I am always telling them to stop with the theatrics and tell people things straight out. These two though seem to enjoy the occasional dramatic reveal.” The first woman in red said. “Oh, we have not introduced ourselves. I am Amira! This is Evana and Isa! “
My eyes followed to the woman as their names were revealed and gave them a soft bow of the head and smile. The last one, Isa I think, gave me a stern faced non reaction but the other returned my greeting with a soft smile.
“I know this seems strange and I hope once we explain you will feel less confused.” The woman Elena said taking my hand gentle and holding it softly.
“The vison you saw was a warning. It is the current future your path is following. It is expected for the kinds of earth to be at war with one another, in fact we see futures of war almost constantly. The need for power and the motivation of greed had not changed through time. However, when we had seen your future something was unusual. Your future had split into almost a dozen possible outcomes the moment you were born. It was unusual for someone to posses such a fractured life. We knew something about you was special. Your birth had been the beginning of a time when our visions became unclear. They would change constantly. We could not pinpoint an end. The stream of time would shift suddenly, and the vison would change. To be honest, it was very frustrating.” Amira said with a light chuckle.
“I’m sorry, but is there something wrong with me?” I ask.
“No, no. You are just extremely unique. You see, when you were born your wolf died. You had become essential human completely. That was when your fate shattered. You in a sense had no set future. It was not something we had seen before. Then as we examined several strings that lead from the day of your birth we were shocked. So many of the threads lead to all of werewolf kind being whipped away. Something about you was essential to the survival of your kind. We could not understand why, since no human possessed such an intense effect n the future. Without your wolf, everything seemed to crumble. We summoned Elena when we saw the constant in the threads. Without you, no one of your kind would be left. But without your wolf, you would not be able to change that outcome.” Amira tried to explain.
“I needed to restore your wolf, but I knew if you were to be the one to save our kind you needed to be more. More powerful, graceful, kind. In the past a white wolf would be born to bring peace in times when our kind were at war. They were powerful and true warriors. When they died their energy was collected and preserved. It had been hundreds of years since the last white owl had emerged, so I decided to take the energy of the past white wolves and give them to you.” Elena said. “With that energy, you again had a wolf. One that had lived on in that energy and we waited. But as you grew older, you resisted your wolf. You hid her away and pushed your own instincts down. Making your emergence difficult, and the shattered future remained intact.”
“There were elements not present in your futures, and although powerful you were not able to change fate on your own. We concluded additional elements needed to be included.” Amira added.
“Owen.” I said with a shaky voice, feeling my throat tighten as the sounds came out.
“Yes, a bonding to an alpha wolf can bring great strength. You would also provide him and his pack your power as well. After I had placed the white wolves of the past within you, I could see the power you had within you. Whit wolves were a beacon of hope. You would become the brightest beacon of all, but bonding with an alpha would infuse that power into an entire pack as well.” Elena sounded almost proud of who Amelia would become. “Owen was always meant to be your mate, and he was to become a great alpha. His pack had always been strong, and with your bond their strength would only grow. However, when your wolf had died, the bond between you and Owen had been cut. It had to be reattached which made it weak. The pull to your mate would be weak at best, making it uncertain fi the bond would be strong enough for you to seek for each other. Yet as soon as the mate bond had been reattached, your split future became one again.”
“But then something changed. Something shifted the future and again the future turned grim. We cannot pinpoint the cause, or the moment things changed. It is still unclear.” Amira says sounding defeated.
“How is it possible that whatever it is goes unnoticed?” I ask them in frustration.
“There are creatures that we can not see. These ones can remain hidden to our eyes and their interference often will go unnoticed. Because one small change can change someone’s future, and those small things can appear to be accidental. We suspect this is what has happened.” Amira adds.
“What kind of creatures do you mean?” I ask glancing at each one of them.
“The Blood Beasts.”
They are not among the living, so they have no seeable future within our realm of foresight. We can see the future of all living creatures, but these creatures are no longer alive. They are in a sense completely hidden from our view.” Isa said suddenly startling me slightly at the sudden voice.
This fate had a more serious expression and had of yet to offer a single alternate emotion toward me. Her voice was curt and a little intimidating.
“What are Blood Beasts?” I asked.
I had grown only knowing of werewolves because I had been born one, but I had very little knowledge of other supernatural creatures that lived in my world.
“They are as humans call, Vampires.” Amira says simply.
Those words seemed to hit me hard. Vampires? I had read plenty of stories and seen movies about vampires as I grew up. The human version of vampires made them seem dark and mysterious but pretty much very attractive men who seduced woman and killed them. Was that true?
“These creatures are different from how humans describe them. There are some who when changed, go on to retain their human qualities and go fairly unnoticed. These are not blood beats, however. Blood beasts are the vampires who have lost all humanity and are more monster than man. They are far more dangerous.” Elena continues to explain.
“We never reveal to someone their future, not even a seer can foresee an entire lifetime. But you are not just anyone, your future is key to saving an entire race. You need to know what happens in the future so you can see the moment everything changed. The point we can not see, so you can correct the timeline. Do you understand?” Amira asks me.
Did I understand?
These women are saying the future of my kind is up to me. That in fact my wolf is the embodiment of every white wolf that ever lived, and I am some kind of temporal anomaly, and Vampires are real!
It would be easy to assume this was all some kind of dream as well, but if it wasn’t and this was all true….What do I do now?
