Pot Of Gold

''Did you see her? Did you see Margaret?'' Margaret's foster mother could not hold on to whatever iota of dignity she could garner as she asked her husband desperately about the pot of gold that used to live with them.

''Of course, I saw her but she disregarded me. She was not happy to see me.'' Margaret's foster father said to his wife and entered the house feeling dejected.

Margaret's foster mother could not believe what she had just heard from her husband.

''She was not happy to see you but she was happy to eat our food and spend our money nearly all the days of her life until recently?'' Margaret's foster mother followed her husband into the bedroom, complaining behind him as if it was the man who had asked Margaret to reject them.

Constance sat on a sofa knitting a sweater, and she rolled her eyes at the desperation of her mother.

''As if you ever liked her. Pathetic.'' Constance rolled her eyes and murmured, hoping that her mother did not hear her if not she knew that the woman would throw something dangerous at her.

''I thought we helped to keep her until this time when her life suddenly became better. Why would she dare to do this to us?'' Margaret's foster mother was close to tears.

''Look, woman. It's not like we were exactly kind to that girl. You know how we treated her, so I wonder why you are acting so touched about the fact that she rejected us. I for one, I'm not surprised.'' Margaret's foster father, while he undressed to take a shower after failing at apprehending Margaret with the police.

''Maybe it's because it's you.'' Margaret's foster mother shook her head, refusing to believe that Margaret would reject her if she saw her.

''Margaret cannot do that to me, she knows.'' The woman sounded sure of herself.

''Well, you can find your way to the Vandersar palace and introduce yourself as the girl's former mother. Let's see whether you will be acknowledged.'' Margaret's foster father shut the batherrom door, keeping his wife away from continuing to bother him.

Constance heard what her father said to her mother, and could not help but giggle secretly. It was low of her mother to ever assume that she stood a chance with Margaret after everything. Thinking of the hole that her mother made Margaret to live in when there were other spacious rooms in the house that Margaret could have stayed in, made Constance shake her head.

Constance was not trying to say that she was an angel, or that she treated Margaret well, but she dared not assume the position of a caring sister just because Margaret was now wealthy. Of course, she knew that Margaret would never accept her, and that was fine.

''Harry, please be careful out there. I've heard a lot about the Prince Of Persia, and I know he is a ruthless man. Please come back to us soon.'' Margaret said to Harry when he came to see her privately in her bedroom just before he left for Persia.

Harry was taken aback by Margaret's concern because he never imagined that she would express such an affection for him.

Margaret had being with them in the palace for just two weeks, and she was only slowly coming out of her shell. Such a show of love at that time made Harry shocked.

Now more than anything, for the fact that Margaret had asked, no begged him to return to the place safely, he had to make sure that he did just that.

Harry stared hard at Margaret and kissed her forehead.

''Of course, I'll be back soon. I promise you, I will come back with news that the Magus Kingdom is no longer one of the kingdoms under the stronghold of Bane. Okay?'' Harry hugged his wife.

''Harry!''

''Harry!''

Barry and Larry also came in to say good bye to their brother.

''I just wish that McGuire was here to talk you out of this.''

''Harry, I don't like that you want to go to Persia alone. If Bane saw the three of us, he will feel intimidated and make sure to let us return home for fear of being attacked.''

Barry and Larry were so concerned, in fact, Larry blinked back the etars that had formed in his eyes.

Harry smiled.

''I already told you the reason I have to go alone, right? While you think that Bane will be intimidated when he sees three of us, his being intimidated might lead to him doing the most. I'll be back before you know it.'' Harry soon left the Vandersar palace on his journey to Persia.

Prince Harry left for Persia with just one guard, as he did not want it to appear as if he had come there for trouble. All he wanted to do was to inform Prince Bane that himself and his brothers would officially visit him soon to sign the treaty that will remove Magus from under Persia.

In as much as Prince Harry knew that he would not start trouble, he could not say the same for Prince Bane, because the young Prince was so power drunk, he had done unthinkable and unspeakable things in his life time.

The closer Prince Harry got to Persia after a six hour tarvel in the official Vandersar Palace Luxury car, the more Prince Harry's heart beat faster as he didn't know what to expect.

Prince Harry had deliberately refrained from giving prior notice to the Prince as to when exactly he would be visiting. He did so because he did not want to give Prince Bane time to plan whatever mischief he might have sought out for him.

Price Harry had also heard about Prince Bane's wife who was the person behind all of Prince Bane's wickedness and ruthlesness accross the eight kingdoms, and he dreaded her presence in the Persian Palace.

Little did Prince Harry know that Prince Bane's wife was in the Vandersar Palace, plotting disaster to kill McGuire.
