Don't Bow
The person who had said those words to Sent was Margaret, and instead of addressing Sent with her real name, Margaret addressed her by the fake name she had given them in Magus, Macy.
What did that mean?
That meant that even if Margaret did not want to say more than just calling Sent by her fake name, it was glaring that indeed, Sent was just a maid, and nothing but a maid as far as Margaret was concerned.
Sent slowly turned her head.
''Wait a minute. Wait a frozen minute, did I just hear someone trying to say something?'' Sent started humiliating Margaret at once.
The aura of Sent had completely changed from the one that Margaret knew her for back in the Vandersar palace.
Now, if one did not know the backstory, they would never know that Sent was once called Macy and used to be the maid of Margaret in the Vandersar palace.
But that was not enough to make Margaret afraid. As far as she now knew who she was, she could address anyone and any situation appropriately and with a dignified status.
Larry looked down on Sent as soon as she started to try to humiliate Margaret.
''I beg your pardon. Are you talking to my wife? Of course everyone heard Margaret Vanderser, the only surviving Usylon and the only mortal who can decipher the sacred code, say something.'' Larry was decisive.
''This person is a con woman, and a thief.'' Sent started to accuse Margaret all over again, causing everyone around to roll their eyes.
''When will we ever give this a break?''
''As a matter of fact, I know someone that knows her from the past when she was just an ugly, wretched, ordinary girl.'' Sent suddenly remembered Constance, the lady that Lucas had sent to her to form an alliance with, and a broad smile spread across her face.
Sent looked beyond the entourage that stood on front of her and Prince Bane and Xavier, and signelled for someone to bring the guest, Constance.
From a distance, a palace guard could be seen taking a bow before Sent as he went to carry out her order.
The entourage from Magus could not deny that they started to feel somewhat nervous following what Sent sad about being in possession of someone that knew Margaret from the past.
With the certainty that Sent exhibited as she sent for Constance, even Margaret started to wonder if she was not indeed a con woman, and if she was not a thief at all.
After about ten minutes of waiting, the palace guard returned to the throneroom, leading a confused Constance who did not even have a clue about what was happening.
The closer Constance got to the throneroom, the more apprehensive she became until, from a distance, she sighted her foster sister, Margaret.
That would be the first time Constance would meet Margaret since she mysteriously disappeared from home on that fateful noght.
''Margaret!'' Constance, at forst, displayed the innocence of youth and was elated to see Margaret, before she remebered that she ought to be at loggerheads with Margaret.
''You ingrate.'' Constance sneered at Margaret.
''Who is this again?'' Barry's baritone jolted everybody alive and the Vandersar Princes adjusted their postures warily as they watched Constance, indeed, wondering who the hell she was in the scheme of things.
''Heloo...'' Constance heard what Barry said and turned to look at him but she was taken aback by the handsome Prince.
That would be the first time that Constance would be that close to any of the Vandersar Princes, and she could not deny that they were beyond her imagination.
Every young girl in Magus had heard about the Vandersar Princes and how gloriously handsome they were.
Every young girl in Magus dreamed about being the chosen woman for the handsome Princes since it was not a secret that the Princes were virgins, but now...
Constance was staring at a god as far as she was concerned.
It was after Constance took in Barry's looks that she realised that she was surrounded by heavy royalty.
The three Vandersar Princes, looking like otherwordly beings, perfect to the core, stood just mere inches away from Constance, while Prince Bane, the deviously handsome and ruthless Persian god sat inches away from Constance as well, and guess what...
She had all their attention.
''Your hugnesses...'' Constnace quickly realized herself and took a bow, planting her head directly on the fround because there were just too many royal people around her for her to dare to act nonchalantly no matter what.
''As you should have...'' McGuire whispered, staring at Constance with disdain while her head was planted on the floor.
McGuire could recognize Constnace easily. Of course, he had known her for a very long time.
McGuire was present in Margaret's life throughout the period when she lived with Constance and her parents. If only Constance and her parents could think back, and clearly for that matter.
McGuire was often the post man, the milk man, the food delivery man, the laundry man... He was always disguised and positioned to find himself around Margaret, looking after her.
If only Constance and even Margaret, could take a closer look.
''Oh come on, get up...'' Sent rolled her eyes and walked forward to raise Constance up.
''How can you be this embarrassing? You are my guest, so you don't have to be official around me nor anyone who is around me. Come on, get up from the floor.'' Sent was tired of Constance.
''I am sorry, my Queen.'' Constance could not come to terms with Sent's advise as the room was just too powerful for her to dare not to bow before four powerful Princes.
''Yes. So, back to what I was saying about this Usylon liar.'' Sent eyed Margaret, looking deeply into her eyes to check if she would find Margaret indicating any form of familiarity with Constance.
''Miss so-called Usylon. Do you know this lady here?'' Sent asked.
