Yielding

''We cannot take this anymore.''

''The suffering is getting too much. First of all, my livestock started dying one by one, now my children are falling sick.''

''I don't know when last I ate a proper meal.''

Persians had started to heavily feel the weight of the hunger that Magus had forced on them. No matter how much Prince Bane did and how much he threatened them, the Vandersar Princes were not moved to turn their decision around.

There was still no food supply going to Persia after several weeks.

''We have to stage a protest. This cannot be real. We can't afford to die like this. If the treaty has to be signed because of the Usylon girl coming into the picture, then it had better be signed or else we will all die for nothing.''

The Persians started to form a group that will match to the Palace to lay an official complain due to the current hardship they were going through.

''Bane, I told you already. It's either you take drastic action or you sign this damn treaty before something that we have no control over, happens.'' Xavier hurried to the throneroom to inform Prince Bane about the movement that had started in the Kingdom.

''What is it this time?'' Prince Bane was darained to the last and it could be seen on his demeanor.

''Ypur ever loyal subjects are making their way to the Palace with placards demanding an explanation for the current hunger.'' Xavier's eyes bulged with nervoursness as he broke the news to Prince Bane.

Prince Bane quickly got up and hurried to the floor to ceiling window in his throneroom from where he could see the entire kingdom, and just as his uncle had said, he could see the Persians coming through the Palace gate.

Of course, at times like that, no guard dared to stop the people from having access to teh Prince since it was a general problem as even the guards were hungry.

''My goodness...'' Prince Bane shut the curtain and turned back to look at his uncle, Xavier.

''The kingdom is falling apart.'' Prince Bane sat down dejectedly as he thought of the bitter truth that managed to escape from his lips.

Xavier nodded with pity.

Just as Prince Bane was about to open his mouth to say something, he heard the Persians right outside the Palace door. Their voices were so loud, nobody could pretend not to hear them.

''I thought they were hungry, where did they get the energy to shout at the top of their voices?'' Prince Bane smacked his forehead with self pity.

''It's probably the last energy to fight for their lives before they all start to drop dead.'' Xavier was replying when they were interrupted by a loud voice.

''The Prince Of Princes, we are your loyal subjects and we have come to ask for your intervention concerning the ongoing hunger in Persia.''

Prince Bane's heart was beating against his chest. This was more than a war. Having your own people turn against you was one thing each Prince in every kingdom feared, and from the look of things, it was as if the Persians were going to go against Prince Bane because of hunger.

Prince Bane didn't say anything, and allowed his subjects speak.

For minutes, they aired out their thoughts, complaints, and opinions about the ongoing feud, and eventually, and to the dreading of Prince Bane, he heard the leader of the revolution claim that the treaty should be signed.

''Prince Bane, it is written in the books already that the Usylon girl being found triggers the treaty being signed. So, why would you want to go against something that was decided before you, your father, your grandfather, and the rest of your ancestors were born?'' It was not surprising to hear the audacity in the voice of the leader of the revolution because they were all already at their wit's end.

There was extreme hunger in the land os what else was there to fear? Hunger would most likely kill them before Prince Bane did if he bothered to care about the audacity of the man that was speaking on behalf of the people of Persia.

Xavier could not wait for his nephew to speak up because he knew that the Prince was undecided at that time, and extremely confused, so he started to advance towards the Palace entrance to address the crowd, but just before Xavier got to the Palace entrance, he heard a shrill and familiar voice addressing the people back.

''How dare you? Have you no fear? You dare to challenge the Prince Of Persia?'' Sent, as soon as she heard that the Persians wanted to force Prince Bane to sign the treaty in a bid to stop the ongoing hunger, took it upon herself to reply to them.

Prince Bane and Xavier were shocked beyond words when they heard Sent's voice talking to the people because they did not even know that she was anywhere around at that moment.

''If the Prince Of Princes signs the treaty, do you not know what that means?'' Sent was furious.

''Do you want Persia to be under Magus overnight?'' Sent continued.

''We don't care. If Persia has to be under Magus before we can return to having food in the kingdom, then so be it. What is a kingdom without food to give to the people? Besides, I think, if Magus has been the one supplying food to Persia all this while, then maybe, just maybe, Magus is our senior kingdom then and we should yield to them.'' Hunger was definitely a factor at this point because the spokesman for the revolution in Persia had no filter as he spoke his mind and the mind of the rest of the people because they all nodded and chanted in agreement.

Magus a senior brother to Persia? When Sent heard that, her face became red with anger. Persia, Prince Bane and everything she had worked for over the years was slowly going down the drain because of the Usylon girl, Margaret.
