It Is Not As Easy As You Think

For the first time since Margaret left her foster home, she looked Constance in the eye.

Constance could hardly look at Margaret unlike what she thought. Constance thought that it would be business as usual, and that she would easily intimidate Margaret by merely loking at her, but oh, how wrong was she.

This time, it was Constance who could not look into Margaret's eyes.

Margaret did not speak. First of all, Sent did not have the right to question her, as far as status was concerned, Margaret was superior to Sent, but that was story for another day.

Besides the fact that Sent did not have any right over Margaret, she did not even address Margaret with respect. She called Margaret a so-called Usylon, so Margaret had been disrespected already, hence, no response.

''Margaret, tell them. Tell them who I am. It is so nice to see you again after a long time. You look so good now.'' Constance did not know when she started to sing praises over Margaret. Who would have thought.

Sent was boiling but she held her feelings back.

''Hello Constance.'' The good in Margaret did not allow her to deny her foster sister whom she had lived with and tolerated for eighteen years.

Margaret spoke to Constance just so that she could be happy enough to have felt familiar with the Princess in Vandersar.

Sent was excited when Margaret spoke to Constance with a familiar tone.

''You see? I told you! I told you that this person here is a fake Usylon. Miss. Constance here is a commoner from a common family, and this so-called Usylon has been living with her long enough for everyone to have known if she was an Usylon or not. So how come Miss. Constance and her parents never discovered the Usylon in her? How come?'' Sent ranted buoyantly, happy to have made a very valid point.

After Sent finished speaking, she looked around her, waiting for anyone to reply her claim.

''Sent.'' The first person to reply to Sent was none other than her boyfriend, Prince Bane.

Sent did not say anything, instead she turned around to look at Bane.

''You don't want to go down that way. It has already been proved in front of everyone that this lady here is indeed an Usylon. If she was not an Usylon, she would not have the audacity to travel all the way to Persia where she knows that she can be arrested.'' Prince Bane hoped that what he was saying would not go over Sent's head.

Sent glared at Prince Bane.

Well, yes she knew that Margaret had been proven to be an Usylon, but part of the way Sent got around the eight kingdoms and made them to do her bidding was by bullying them. That was exactly what she wanted to do in this case with Margaret.

Sent felt that if she could bully the Magusians enough that Margaret was not an Usylon, maybe they would start to doubt themselves as well, but Prince Bane had just tarnished her effort by confirming Margaret's legitimacy.

''I knew you were weak, but I never knew you to be this weak. You just disgraced me in front of these worthless Magusians that mind you, are still under our reign.'' Sent walked close enough to Prince Bane and shispered those words into his ear just before she walked away.

Prince Bane made sure not to react. Of course, he would not like the entourage from Magus to know that his girlfriend had just given him a tongue lashing.

Sent looked at Xavier with disdain on her way out before she eventually exited the throneroom.

''You should never have been here in the first place,'' Xavier whispered to Sent on her way out, and oh, she heard the man loud and clear.

As soon as Sent left, everywhere became silent and awkward as the attention of evryone in the throneroom transfered to Constance. She was the only person who was out of place in that throne room, she needed to leave.

Constance smiled with sarcasm and embarrasment as she looked at everyone. The looks on their faces was not friendly at all, not even from Prince Bane who was on Sent's side.

''Miss...'' the servant who had brought Constnace into the throneroom moved to take her out.

''Bane. Just sign this treaty so that we can all move on without any of us getting dirty.'' As soon as the coast was clear, Prince Harry started to speak again.

Prince Bane rolled his eyes.

''Harry, Larry, or Barry?'' He pretended not to know the exact Vandersar Prince that had addressed him.

''Harry.'' Prince Harry obliged the Persian Prince.

If he claimed not to know who had just spoken to him, then he would be educated.

''Right. Harry. It is going to take a lot more than just demanding for this treaty to be signed. I mean, the odds might be in your favour, but it will definitely take a lot more than demanding for it, okay? So, what I will suggest is that you let this idea of being a sovereign kingdom die off for now. I mean, I will think about it, and in my own time and in the vastness of my heart and mercy over Magus, I can decide to grant you the treaty, or not.'' Prince Bane spoke his mind loud and clear.

Xavier was shocked to listen to his nephew take matters into his hands the way he had just done. He could not help but nod in approval to Bane's suggestion. At least, it was a way to stall the treaty being signed because, of a truth, just as Prince Bane had said, that treaty could not just be signed so easily like the Vandersar Princes were assuming.

''Very well then. Since you want some more convincing about why the treaty should be signed as soon as possible, you will be given one in due time. Reagards.'' Prince Harry led his brothers, Margaret and McGuire out of the throneroom.
