Let Me Be The Messenger

Magus was quiet, though everyone knew that just around the corner, there will be war. Some sort of chaos was bound to happen and the people of Magus had never been so ready for trouble the way they were ready for it in Magus.

''Everything will surely favor us.''

''Yes, I heard that the Usylon can interpret the sacred code. Do you know what that means? I dare any of the other kingdoms to ever attack us, including Persia.''

''Yes, you may have a point, but until the treaty is signed, I doubt that there is much that Magus can do to Persia.''

The citizens of Persia all had something to say. Well, who wouldn't? After all the activity going on in the kingdom, someone will definitely be obliged to participate in some gossip.

''Do you see Prince Bane signing that treaty anytime soon?''

''Well, I don't think he has a choice to be honest. If he does not sign the treaty, it does not change the fact that the Usylon girl has powers, sacred powers that could cause mayhem to Persia. I wonder if she knows just how much power resides within her.''

''That's it. That's just the point. She might not know what to do with her abilities, and that would be as bad as not having them. If Prince Bane knew what to do, he would quickly go after her.''

''Wait a minute. Whose side are you on? Are you in any way wishing that the Persian Prince' hold over Magus never comes to an end?''

''I am not saying that. What I am saying is that there is facts and then there is wishful thinking. Just like you said, the Usylon girl might not even know how to use the power she has except someone educates her. Usually, people like her are sent faraway to live under a master, or mistress that knows about the sacred power that she has, but this one just came out of nowhere and is claiming to have the power just because she can read a sacred code.''

All sorts of conversations between the people of Magus had erupted, and different people carried different views of the situation.

''I sense that you are just jealous. It is clearly written that whoever can read the sacred code automatically has the sacred power as well, so I wonder why you are bringing up narratives that one can hardly understand.''

Meanwhile in the Vandersar palace, the Princes were not oblivious of the fact that Prince Bane might be stubborn enough to strike them , and if he dared to strike them at all, he would come down hard on them.

''I will stage a meeting with the seven kingdoms. By now, they must have heard what has happened here in Magus, so they should be gearing up to pick a side. If they are on my side and we win over Persia, they are going to have the right to reign as sovereign kingdoms and not under Magus or Persia.'' Harry made his intention known to his brothers.

''What? No way. If we win against Persia, then all the kingdoms that were under Persia will belong to us.'' Larry was being a tad bit too ambitious concerning scoring the entire seven kingdoms to himself and his brothers.

''I don't think so, Larry. If we did that to the otehr seven kingdoms, what would be the difference between us and Persia? I agree with Harry. We should fight for the supremacy of all eight kingdoms individually. We all have what it takes to stand on our own, so why does any of the kingdoms need anyone to rule over them?'' Barry spoke as reasonably as Harry ahd in the first place.

''It's too easy for them. So, all they would do is sit in their kingdoms while we go through the pain of making supremacy possible for them?'' Larry asked.

''No, they would fight with us.''

'It does not matter.'' Larry was not satisfied.

''In the first place, we located the Usylon bride which everyone thought would never happen. She read the sacred code right in front of Prince Bane, in fact, the fact that we got the Prince Of Persia to pay us an unsolicited visit says a lot. I maintain that the seven kingdoms remain loyal to us.'' Larry continued to dispute his brothers.

McGuire shook his head.

''The first thing we should think about is how to protect Margaret because I can assure you that Prince Bane, especially that sorry girlfriend of his, is coming for her.''

''I don't think we have a problem with that. All we have to do is teach Margaret about the power of being the sacred one. Who dares to come close to the sacred one?'' Larry was over himself.

''If Prince Bane is smart enough, he will attack now that Margaret has little to no idea about how to use her powers.'' McGuire told the Prince, Larry.

''Well, I can't wait for whoever will start the fire. They can all bring it on for all I care.'' Larry was heavy on adrenaline and it made his brothers wonder.

''What is it with you today, Larry? You are acting so... out of place.''

''Yes, have you been taking some sort of enhancement drug? Your adrenaline is quite on the high side.''

Harry and Barry cautioned and questioned their brother.

''Not exactly but if you know how that so-called Prince looks down on everyone, you will be in a hurry to take him out completely just like me. I have always been waiting for this opportunity. I think we have to start from somewhere anyway, and that is meeting with the leaders of the seven kingdoms and stating our concern and intention with them. I think I will have to take on that feat by myself. Let me be the messenger.''
