I Know The Princess

Constance had been actively looking out for when she would have the opportuinity to meet Margaret again.

As loose and lacadestical as she was, Constance, in the absence of Sent, was dating Lucas, the original boyfriend of Sent, the future Queen of Persia.

Constance nearly never stayed home anymore. She was always with Lucas, as they had a fresh relationship.

''What's this?''

''What's this beautiful art piece? Only royalty can afford it. How did you get it?''

''Who's this? Why does she look so much like the Queen in Persia?''

Constance was in Lucas' home, going around his things and observing everything that she caught an interest in.

''Is this not the Queen in Persia?'' Constance asked again when Lucas did not give her any reply at first.

''Yes it is.'' Lucas was busy with something else as he answered Constance, pretending not to be invested in whatever Constance was saying.

''So, why do you have the picture of the Queen in Persia in your house?'' Constance asked.

''Because, she's the Queen.''

Constance kept quiet for a while.

''Okay. I have been to so many houses in Magus and I have never seen anyone displaying the Quuen's picture on their wall. Mind you, she is not officially the Queen yet, so...'' Constance was trying to make a case.

''Yes, she is not the official Queen yet but she would be in the near future. After dating the Prince for more than five years with her making major decisions in the kingdom, how can anyone not expect her to be the future Queen? It's only a matter of time.'' Lucas could care less about what Constance had in mind. He had a lot to hide, so he pretended not to be invested.

''Okay then. Makes sense.'' Constance eyed the gorgeous picture of Sent as she walked away from the display.

''So. How long have you had that picture on your wall?'' Constance asked.

Lucas looked at Constance with skepticism.

''Why does that picture bother you so much?'' Lucas wondered.

Constance shrugged.

''Anyway. How close are you to the Princes?''

When Constance asked the question above, Lucas became even more disturbed.

Why was she asking all those questions?

''What Princes?''

''Ah! There are only three Princes in Magus, and everyone knows them so why are you asking me such?'' Constance was deliberately coy and sneaky.

''I am asking you such because nobody is close to the Princes apart from the mysterious old man that hangs around with them. How can I ever know what they are up to?'' Lucas wondered genuinely, what Constance' interest was with these Princes.

''Do you mean to tell me that you spend all your time here, alone?'' Constance asked.

''Well, it pays off. I do handiwork from here, and I am the first merchant anyone meets for any sort of handiwork, so yes, I spend my time here alone. If not for the money I make from spending time alone here, you never would have loved to meet me, right?''

''Boring.''

Constance was a walkabout and it was becoming obvious to Lucas.

Lucas raised an eyebrow.

''You have been around the entire Magus to know that I am boring, right?'' Lucas asked.

''Around Magus? What do you take me for?'' Constance started to get upset, perceiving that Lucas was trying to call her a loose girl.

''Nothing. I only asked, since you said I am boring. You are visiting me for the first time, yet you call me boring. How?'' Lucas asked.

''Anyway, that aside. I want to see the new Vandersar Princess. She is my foster sister.'' Constance hit the nail on the head at once.

Lucas stopped what he was doing and stared at Constance with a corny gaze.

'You said, who is your foster sister?''

''The new Princess in Magus?''

Constance nodded after Lucas asked her that question.

Lucas burst out laughing hysterically.

''How? The Usylon girl is your sister? Indeed.''

''Yes she is. Why don't you believe me? Where do you think she was before she suddenly showed up in the palace?'' Constance asked.

Lucas continued to stare at Constance skeptically.

''Are you playing games with me or what? Where was she living before she showed up?'' Lucas asked.

''Good question. Well, my house of course. She was adopted by my parents from the orphanage. She has been my foster sister since she was born before she suddenly fled after she was accused of stealing. Little did we know that we will find her in the palace with the Vandersar Princes.''

''Who is we?'' Lucas wanted to know.

''Me and my parents of course. My parents raised her. Do you think I am lying? Well, maybe you should do your homework. Ask around and find out.'' Constance had never sounded so confident since she met Lucas.

Lucas was interested.

''Seriously, Constance. Are you telling the truth? Did you really grow up with the Princess?''

Constance scoffed.

''Why is everyone holding her to such high esteem? Isn't she human like everyone else? Of course, I grew up with her. In fact, I grew up above her as I was her superior. My parents adopted her, so what do you expect? She did all the chores at home while I sat around and watched her, doing nothing. If there is any Princess among both of us, it is me. I am the real Princess here.''

Lucas stared at Constance in disbelief.

Well, Lucas' disbelief did not mean that he did not believe what Constance was saying, instead, it meant that he was shocked to have come so close to the Vandersar Princess.

''So, have you visisted her ever since she became the Princess?'' Lucas asked.

Constance shook her head.

''When my father and mother tried to visit her, they were stopped. Well, she was not exactly treated right as our adopted family memeber if you ask me, so it is understandable that she might not want to see us in her life anymore. Though I have not tried to visit her. Who knows? She might take an exception to me.''
