Chapter 46
Ethan's POV
Now I live here with Wais. To wait for my turn to meet his master. Namely, Elder Rowan who I went to before I was still in my world as an alpha and Luna's husband. My mind wandered to the worst possibilities. If only I was deceived by Wais the weasel. Then I would really lose and regret leaving Cleo earlier. My bad prejudices began to emerge towards Wais.
But I noticed the way he treated me as a guest enough to make me feel appreciated. He accepted my presence here. Entertaining me so generously. There was nothing I should suspect from Wais when I observed his behavior. My bad thoughts were pushed aside by the politeness he showed me. In front of me, he did not show the slightest bit that Wais had bad intentions towards me.
"Wais, have you lived here long?"
I began to open up space to talk further with Wais.
Wanting to know more about his character that I still want to learn and explore.
I thought that by talking to him, I would be able to find the deepest side of his character, and I could draw a conclusion as an answer whether my presence here was safe or not while I was with him.
"Not bad."
"How old are you?"
"I don't know, I forgot, but I'm definitely almost the same age as the young elder, the youngest brother of elder Rowan. I'm also the same age as the son of the alpha Darius Gray who has been missing until now, named Lucas."
"Huh, can you explain it?!" Hearing it suddenly made me shocked, especially when Lucas' name was mentioned. But I didn't dare ask about the continuation of the story related to Lucas' name. Or mention that Lucas is my brother like before. Because I'm worried that I will be laughed at again by Wais like I was laughed at by some of the werewolves I've met. Hmm... So I think I need to suppress my curiosity and my sense of self a little.
"Do you want to tell me more?"
"Yes, of course, it's okay and I will tell you what I know. Maybe it can be useful for you in the future from the contents of the story that I tell."
"Okay, I want to hear it."
"So Darius Gray, the Alpha of the Thunder Howlers Pack, had a son named Lucas Gray. But when he was a teenager, he disappeared who knows where. Like being swallowed by the earth, Lucas disappeared without a trace like Moksa. Every effort was made by Darius Gray to find Lucas Gray's whereabouts. But he has not been found until now."
I began to understand that this story was related to the story that Lucas had been trumpeting at that time. But I listened to Wais' story. Maybe it did synergize with the problems I have been experiencing lately.
"Where is Alpha Darius Gray now?"
Maybe I can meet him and get more explanation that I can correlate with the problems that have befallen me. Maybe this could be the reason why I was sucked into this era. Maybe I have to meet the Alpha Darius Gray of the Thunder Howlers Pack besides having to meet Elder Rowan. Okay, I'll start to understand the flow that's presented to me. Taking me in any direction I'll try to understand and follow this flow.
"Alpha Darius Gray is meeting with Elder Rowan now. This is the reason why you have to wait. Because Elder Rowan is handling the Alpha Darius Gray problem that hasn't been resolved until now."
"Oh, so that special figure is Alpha Darius Gray?”
"Yes, you're right, that's what I mean. Because Alpha Darius Gray is a prominent figure and is number one in almost all areas of the werewolf nation. He is truly respected and the center of attention of every werewolf here. He is even famous in all ages because he often crosses various different time dimensions to take care of the order of the werewolf nation so that it remains sustainable and does not become extinct."
"Huh, crossing time and time dimensions?"
"Yes, that's right, why? Is there a problem with what I said?"
"Wait a minute! If I may be honest, I am not from this era. I am an alpha from an era far from this era. Where I live thousands of years in the future from the era we are currently in."
"Huh, you mean you are a figure in the future?"
"Yes, that's right, you could say that roughly and clearly."
“Em, that means you are still in the same lineage as Alpha Darius Gray? If you are really an alpha."
"It could be, but I'm not lying about this. I am truly an alpha from the werewolf nation."
"But why are you here?"
"It's a very long story." I groaned, bowing my head.
Wais looked empathetic and pitiful to me. Feeling what I was feeling and thinking.
"You don't have to be sad." Wais lightened my burden and calmed me down with his words and patted my shoulder gently.
I looked up at his face and my eyes started to fill with tears.
"What? Why? Come on, tell me! You can tell me too. Don't be shy and be honest so that your mind is at least a little free and reduces the burden on you. Maybe I can help you ease your problem." Wais said what I wanted to hear all this time.
Even though I am the Alpha, at least I also need someone who can listen to my complaints from the heart. Understand me more deeply and try to do it. I need someone who can calm my heart like this. Now my chest feels cool and fresh. At least half of the burden on me is gone because I heard Wais' open words.
I also began to tell him at length about the situation of my problems. Telling in detail everything that I have experienced until now. But Wais was so enthusiastic to listen to my story. He was very careful in listening and responding to everything I told him. I really felt appreciated and he entered my soul. Making us feel closer than before. Like there was a spiritual bond between me and Wais.
Instantly I trusted him more and automatically eliminated my doubts about him. Now I feel more confident that Wais will really introduce me to Elder Rowan after his master's business is finished with Alpha Darius Gray. I try to understand that Wais is someone I can trust. I now feel calmer than before and just have to wait for my turn to meet Elder Rowan. Starting to prepare myself before the time comes.
