Chapter 66

Isabella’s POV
“Ah, today is so beautiful,” I replied, feeling excited. We walked side by side towards the shopping mall, and my mood continued to improve. Being able to spend time with Ethan like this felt like precious little moments.
As we explored the shops, I couldn’t help but smile at the various items. Every time we stopped at an interesting display case, I would examine everything with enthusiasm. “Look, Ethan! How about we get this?” I said excitedly, pointing out a pretty accessory.
Ethan nodded and smiled. “That’s great! It suits your style. Let’s buy it!”
We spent some blissful time shopping. Every laugh, every conversation filled our day with happiness. Sometimes, I felt like we were a newly-fallen couple, as if the world around us didn’t exist.
After our shopping, we decided to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee at a small cafe. As we sipped our hot drinks, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for these simple moments. My thoughts wandered to how far we had come, and how with one small step, we could live a life of happiness that made the world feel brighter.
“Thank you, Ethan, for this beautiful day. I really appreciate it,” I said sincerely.
“Always, Isabella. I want you to be happy and always be by your side on every journey,” he replied, his gaze full of love and commitment.
In these simple moments, I felt confident that we had everything we could to survive and support each other through everything—the good days and the bad. We both promised to continue creating more beautiful moments in our lives, forever.
When we arrived home, we were immediately greeted by a shocking sight. Our yard was a mess, and it looked dirty everywhere. Many plants had been trampled, and things were scattered around. “What’s going on, Ethan?” I asked with concern as I looked at the scene in front of us.
“I don’t know either,” he replied, his voice filled with confusion.
Before we could comprehend the situation, a young wolf suddenly emerged from the bushes and immediately faced Ethan. I was shocked and frightened when I saw the wolf with its sharp eyes. However, what was more surprising was that the wolf suddenly transformed into a human in front of us.
"Relax, I'm not an enemy," he said, explaining quickly. "I'm Andreas. I live in this area, and there have been some problems that have just happened here."
Ethan looked at Andreas seriously, and his face showed that he wanted to hear more explanations. "What happened? Why is it dirty outside?" he asked, trying to understand the situation.
Andreas took a deep breath, looking worried. "There was a conflict between wolf packs. Some of them tried to take over this area, and in the process, they damaged many places. You have to be careful. They might not have completely left yet."
Hearing this information made me feel very scared. Tension rose, and the image of a possible fight and conflict began to haunt me. "Ethan..." I whispered, feeling a heavy uncertainty inside me.
Without waiting any longer, Ethan looked at me and said, "Isabella, you have to go inside the house. Don't come out until I make sure everything is safe."
I nodded, but anxiety began to cloud my mind. Not wanting fear to make me helpless, I grabbed Ethan's hand. "But I don't want to be alone in there," I said, my voice shaking.
Ethan looked at me gently, reassuring me. "I'll make sure everything is okay. As soon as I know it's safe, I'll come with you. You're safe inside, Isabella."
Finally, I stepped back, slowly entering the house, while Ethan and Andreas continued their conversation. I closed the door, feeling the tension building inside me. Inside the house, it was calm, but my mind couldn't stop imagining the worst things that could happen.
I knew that while this conflict was outside, I could only hope and pray for Ethan and the people around him to be safe. As I waited, I tried to stay calm and ready to help if needed. Love and worry mixed in my heart, and I knew I had to be strong for whatever was to come.
I stepped into the house alone, and fear began to grip me. In my heart, I tried to convince myself that everything would be okay. Quickly, I made sure all the doors and windows were tightly closed, trying to take steps to protect myself. In a situation like this, I knew that I had to trust Ethan, who would definitely keep everything safe.
Time passed, and every beat of my heart felt so heavy. I sat on the couch, listening to the sounds around me. It was quiet, but tension filled the room. Not long after, Ethan finally came home. He opened the door with a serious face, and I immediately stood waiting for him.
“How is it, Ethan?” I asked worriedly, impatient to hear what was happening outside.
“Calm down!” he replied, but I could feel the tension in his voice.
“How can I be calm when there’s going to be a battle?” I said, feeling unable to control my burning worry.
“Yes, I know, but I’m going to gather troops. We need to make sure everything is safe and that no one will hurt us,” he replied firmly, showing a face that was committed to protecting me and our home.
Hearing those words, my fear grew stronger. “Ethan, please be careful. I don’t want to lose you,” I said with a trembling mouth, unable to hide my worry.
Ethan approached, looking at me deeply. “Isabella, I’ll be back. I promise. You stay safe here, and I will do my best to protect us all. Stay inside and don't open the door to anyone.”
I nodded, trying to remember all his messages. Seeing Ethan preparing to leave made me feel a mixture of feelings—longing and anxiety. However, I knew he had to do this to gather strength and ensure the safety of our territory.
