Chapter 48

Ethan's POV
This morning I woke up in a very fresh state. It felt like the air I breathed this morning was quite cool and refreshing. My mood felt cool and peaceful. I don't know why I felt something different when I started to open my eyes after sleeping for a long time all night. I saw my vision was so bright and clear. Like there was something else that would greet me and make my heart happy.
Even though yesterday I just found a new challenge related to my feathers that started to fall out and fall to the ground. Some of my body is still bald and has no feathers. I feel like today I will get other news that I want to hear and have been waiting for a long time. Yes, I indeed got the good news that I've been waiting for to come into my life now.
"Ethan, congratulations!"
"Congratulations for what Wais? What's wrong?" I was shocked and felt like I would get the luck I dreamed of.
"This afternoon you can meet Elder Rowan."
"This afternoon? Are you serious Wais?"
"Of course, early in the morning, Elder Rowan contacted me that you would get your turn to meet him."
"Wow, I'm so happy. Thank goodness, hopefully, there will be no obstacles to that. I have to meet this afternoon and make sure I'm okay."
Wais fell silent and looked at my whole body with a strange look.
"Why? What else? Did I say something wrong?" I asked in surprise.
"No, I'm just worried."
"Worried about why? What are you worried about? Come on, tell me! Is there something else bad that will happen to me? Do you know about it?"
Wais fell silent and shook his head.
"Then what?" I kept asking and making sure I would get a definite answer from him.
"Don't worry, Ethan; I think your feathers this afternoon will be fine and won't all be bald."
I sighed.
"Oh, that." Silence without a word.
I turned my back on Wais. Then sat on the ground. Lamenting my fate, I had to run around because I was pressed for time. Feeling tired and had no other choice but to wait for all the fate presented to me. I'm just like waiting for a lottery draw that could make me lucky or could also make me lose. No one can guarantee that everything will be okay. But there is also no verdict that I will be in trouble in the end and lose to the bad fate that befell me. The fate forced me to stay in this era.
"Oh, Isabella." I raised my head then lowered my head and let out a long breath.
My breath felt heavy. I mourned my fate which was quite unfortunate right now. From behind I heard the sound of footsteps. Wais approached me and got closer to my position. He started standing right behind me. Meaning that fate is not always based on the prejudices of creatures. This time he was also sad and felt tired of not being able to throw out motivational words. It's just that he expressed hope for me so that I could get the good fortune that I had always dreamed of happening in my life too.
Now I was silent and looked at Wais. Then we both daydreamed, not having any thoughts other than being empty and confused. Feeling confused and just waiting for the time. Without realizing it, some of my feathers fell out again every seven minutes, and seven strands fell. I felt like I had given up and had no other choice but to accept it. Hopefully, this afternoon, my feathers would not run out, and I would soon be able to meet Elder Rowan.
"Ethan, be patient." Wais shed tears with a sincere and empathetic gaze at me.
His eyes were glassy and his cheeks were wet with his own tears. I found it difficult to even cry. Only saliva that I swallowed repeatedly until it suddenly made my throat feel itchy because it was dry. I took a deep breath several times to try to calm myself down. Every time my feathers fell out, it felt painful and sore, it didn't just fall out like that.
Wais cried even more, crying over my current condition which was starting to not resemble a real wolf. My body had been stripped and my fur was only a little bit left in mounds. I automatically put on my withered face. Feeling that my life as Ethan was only a little while away.
“Ethan..." Wais's tears became even louder.
"Wais..." It was hard to say anything while looking at him with a million hopes radiating from my eyes.
We could only surrender together. But suddenly there was a supernatural call. That I had to walk seventeen steps forward to enter the cave passage. There I would soon meet the elder I meant.
"Ethan... Come on, walk forward seventeen steps!"
I looked around.
"Huh, who is that talking and calling my name?" It really made me feel very shocked. But Wais calmed me down and explained a little to me.
"Wow, that's my master's voice." Full of hope in his sparkling eyes.
"Your master?"
"Yes, it is Elder Rowan. Come on Ethan, do what he says! That means it's your turn now."
"Wow, is that true?" I felt very happy when I had only a few feathers left and I was given an opportunity that came earlier than the previous promise I received.
"Yes, come on Ethan, do it! Don't wait too long!!!" How enthusiastic Wais was.
I immediately did it and started walking. Wais' face looked anxious as I took each step. But he always encouraged me, encouraging me. So I felt moved and excited to do it. Walking with enthusiasm and without hesitation. Until I reached the sixteenth step, and when I stepped on the seventeenth, I felt a cool and fragrant aroma.
My body floated and curled up. Suddenly I was in a comfortable place. In front of me now there was an old grandfather who was still fresh and handsome. Is this what Elder Rowan meant? I felt happy when I saw his radiant and peaceful face. Feeling hypnotized by a feeling of peace that I had never felt before in my life. As if hypnotized by his charismatic charm. I felt like I had reached the peak of a real hope in life.
"Are you the Elder Rowan I mean?"
He nodded his head calmly and amazed me.
"Welcome and please sit quietly in front of me." He ordered me.
I followed him and did it immediately. How my heart was beating so fast but my feelings felt cool. This was really a strange thing and I just felt it now. It was truly magical and amazing that I had ever encountered in my life. My body vibrated by itself feeling the great energy that was infinitely strong.
