Chapter 59
Isabella’s POV
Although pregnancy may bring discomfort, moments like this remind me of the importance of supporting each other and sharing the journey of life. On this journey, we will learn and grow together—and I know that with Ethan, any challenges will be easier to overcome.
This weekend, Ethan took me to the city park. Although I felt dizzy and couldn’t fully enjoy the outdoors, being there made me feel a little more at ease and provided some entertainment after being stuck at home for so long.
“Would you like some cotton candy?” Ethan asked, seeing a stall selling the sweet treat.
“Sure,” I replied enthusiastically. A sweet treat like cotton candy did sound like a great idea, especially since it didn’t have the pungent smell of spices.
As Ethan bought the cotton candy, I looked around and noticed the birds flying freely, enjoying the natural beauty around me. The fresh green scenery and the sounds of children playing gave me the cheerful atmosphere I had been missing. It was a simple yet precious experience, and I love moments like these.
When Ethan returned with a large cotton candy, I couldn’t wait to try it. “Wow, this is so big!” I said, looking at the colorful, mouth-watering balls of cotton candy.
Ethan laughed and said, “Yes, this is a fun food! Make sure you enjoy every bite.”
I took a small piece of cotton candy and felt it melt in my mouth. The sweetness brought a little happiness, distracting me from the dizziness that was still there. “Mm, it’s delicious!” I said as I chewed, savoring the sweetness.
We walked around the park, enjoying the quiet and simple moments. Every time a bird flew overhead, I felt like all the burdens and stresses were gone for a moment. Ethan tried to make me laugh and feel happy, and he succeeded.
Being outside and enjoying the beauty of nature made me feel more alive. Even though I was still struggling with nausea and dizziness, Ethan's presence and these little moments gave me a new lease of life. “Thank you, Ethan, for today. I really appreciate it,” I said, feeling grateful inside.
“Always for you, Isabella. We will continue to go through this together,” he replied, looking at me intently.
Both of us knew that this pregnancy would be full of challenges, but with togetherness and mutual support, I was confident that we would overcome any obstacles that came our way. Today was a reminder that happiness sometimes comes from the simplest things.
When Ethan was home, he spent more time with me. He was a watchful husband, always trying to make sure I was comfortable. However, when I was about to go to the bathroom to poop, I suddenly slipped on the floor. “Ouch,” I gasped, feeling a sharp pain shoot through my stomach.
That feeling quickly turned to fear. My stomach hurt so bad, and I realized there was fresh blood coming out from underneath. My heart was pounding as panic began to creep in. “Ethan!” I shouted in a voice full of worry.
Ethan, who heard my terrified scream, immediately ran towards me. Seeing me fall to the floor with a pained expression, his face immediately turned to panic. “Isabella, you…” he couldn’t finish his sentence, but the hint of fear was clearly visible.
Without thinking, he immediately scooped me up tightly into his arms. “Come on, let’s go to the hospital now!” he said, trying to stay calm even though I could see the worry in his eyes.
“Ethan, my stomach hurts,” I said, my voice shaking. Every beat and jolt made the pain more real, and I had no idea what was happening.
On the way to the hospital, Ethan tried to reassure me. He spoke softly, trying to calm me down as he drove quickly but carefully. “We’ll get there soon. Everything will be okay, Isabella. I’m here for you.”
“We… we have to make sure the baby is safe,” I replied, feeling worried about the fetus in my womb. As the pain intensified, I felt panicked about what might happen. All the hopes and dreams we had built up felt like they were in jeopardy in an instant.
Finally, we arrived at the hospital, and Ethan immediately carried me inside. He ran to the registration desk, begging for help in a worried tone. “Help! My wife is pregnant and bleeding!”
The medical staff sprang into action, rushing us into the emergency room. They asked Lucas to wait outside while I was examined. I felt fear course through my body. Deep inside, I hoped everything would be okay and hoped for good news.
As the nurses and doctors began examining me, I tried to calm myself, hoping the results weren’t as bad as I feared. Hopefully everything will be okay and our baby will be safe.
The doctor checked my condition quickly and made sure that I was not losing consciousness. Even so, a feeling of worry was hanging over me. I was very afraid of the worst possibility—losing the baby I had been waiting for all this time.
Meanwhile, Ethan was chatted with by the doctor outside the room. I felt empty when they left, and I was only with a nurse. My feelings were mixed, between anxiety and hope.
“What happened to me?” I asked the nurse, my voice shaking.
“Be patient, okay. The doctor will explain everything to you,” the nurse answered softly, trying to calm me down. However, her words did not really ease my worries.
I tried to stay calm, but negative thoughts kept crossing my head. The pain in my stomach made me restless, and every second felt like it passed slowly. I couldn't predict what was happening, and anxiety was getting to me.
While waiting, I tried to remember everything that had happened. From the first time I took a pregnancy test, to seeing Ethan's cheerful smile when he heard that we were going to have a baby. All those hopes and dreams felt precious, and now it all depended on what the doctor would say.
