Chapter 69

Isabella’s POV
With the training I had gained earlier and my growing confidence, I tried to make an effective attack. Every action I took was a way to help Ethan and show that I could contribute to this battle.
A rush of emotion and courage flowed through me, and I was confident in my determination to protect the people I loved. In the chaos, I fought on, hoping and praying that everything would be okay. I would not stop until this battle was over, and I would stand by Ethan’s side—no matter what.
As Luna, I had gained confidence in my own strength. That feeling of confidence flowed through me as I managed to take down one enemy after another. For a moment, I felt like we would win and end this battle soon. However, I never expected the situation to suddenly change drastically.
The enemy troops were growing in number around us. I looked around, my comrades looked exhausted, and panic began to creep into my mind. “What should I do?” I asked myself, but I knew that allowing fear to take over was not an option.
I tried to calm my mind and focus on the enemy in front of me. Every second counted, and I had to make the most of everything I had. I saw Ethan in the midst of the chaos, still fighting the enemy with relentless spirit. Seeing him fight gave me the strength to keep going.
“I will not give up,” I whispered, clinking my resolve to myself. “Hiya!” I shouted, and once again, I fought off each enemy that came my way.
Each fight made me braver. Even as they kept coming, I tried to remember the teachings I had received before, focusing on my movements and instincts. With all my strength and determination, I fought on, not allowing myself to be overcome by doubt.
I managed to take down a few more, and the feeling of victory began to return. Still, the enemies grew. In my growing doubt, I tried to face whatever came. Giving up was not an option.
“Isabella!” Ethan shouted, echoing through the battle. His stern voice brought me to greater awareness and motivation to persevere. He fought close by, not far away, and as I looked at him, I felt a calming presence amidst the tension.
We would get through this, I knew. In this chaos, we were a team; we fought side by side. Every time an enemy attacked, I felt braver knowing that we were in this together.
My spirit burned as I fought again, and I tried to harness the power I had. Together with Ethan, we can get through this even when the challenges seem increasingly difficult. Nothing could stop us, and my hope was that together we would find a way out of this darkness.
I felt so exhausted, my muscles so tense, but the enemy army seemed endless. We had fought hard, but it seemed like no amount of effort was enough to stop their advance. In my panic, the question crossed my mind—should I give up? But no, I could hold on.
“Isabella, focus!” Mia called, trying to steady me amidst the worsening chaos. Her voice was like my heart—firm and hopeful. I knew I couldn’t give up so easily. My resolve was made, and I wasn’t going to give up.
Despite my zeal, reality was hard to ignore. As I tried to counterattack, suddenly, a hard kick hit my chest. A sharp pain spread throughout my body, and my body couldn’t hold its position any longer. I fell, and my vision slowly blurred.
“Oh no, why is this happening?” I thought in panic. In the approaching darkness, I fought against all of this. “Don’t let me die,” I whispered to myself, hoping for a miracle to bring me back.
As the pain hit, I tried to remember all the precious moments I had spent with Ethan and my squad. Those beautiful memories were my strength, but they all seemed far away in my blurry vision. I felt like I was losing myself in the darkness, and my body seemed trapped in helplessness.
However, as a flash of consciousness faded, I felt a strong presence around me. Ethan’s voice tore through the silence, piercing the enveloping darkness. “Isabella! Where are you? Please tell me you’re still here!”
I tried to open my eyes, but the darkness held everything back. The will to fight and rise was still burning within me. “I… am here…” I whispered, my voice barely audible, but I hoped he could hear it.
In a semi-conscious state, all for one purpose: to survive. Because in my heart, I knew that this was not the time to give up. There were people who depended on me, and I wanted to see them safe, especially Ethan. He needed me, and I was determined to rise again.
With all my remaining strength, I held on to the hope of continuing this fight. I wanted to return to the light, to Ethan and the troops who were fighting. Even though everything seemed vague, my determination to stand and fight again grew stronger. "I will survive," I resolved, trying to get through this slump, for everything I loved.
Ethan's POV
I had to lie to Isabella, saying that this battle was just a small matter. However, the reality was that the enemy forces were already overwhelming. They were pouring in from all directions and even though we were fighting hard, I could feel that we were lacking in strength and numbers. Every second became more tense.
"Can we gather more troops?" I asked Lucas as we stood together, watching the battlefield. One aspect that worried me was how Isabella could get caught up in all of this, and I wanted to keep her safe.
"We have to, Lucas," I said, trying to convey confidence even though my heart was depressed.
"Of course. We have to defend our territory," he answered firmly, showing a fighting spirit that was no less great.
