Chapter 19

Steven stood up and kissed Cassie on her lips in front of Ryker. “I gotta go because I need to practice for next week’s match.”

Cassie kissed him back without any hesitation. “Sure, I’ll see you tomorrow.”

After that, Steven gave Ryker a look before walking out of the cafe in a triumphant manner.

Ryker grunted and stood up. “Should we go back to the college or should I drop you home?”

Cassie responded. “No, actually I need to stop by at the library for an hour.”

Ryker nodded. “Alright then let's go back to the college.”

Ryker held Cassie’s hand all the way to the Elite. Cassie sensed their efforts to win Cassie but she was hell worried about how to tell them she wanted to have all three of them together at once with her. Cassie is still not sure how to tell Daniel about all this and how to tell them about Daniel. He is the most sensitive and introverted also he is closer to Cassie than the rest of the two.

When they entered the college Cassie thought Ryker going to say good bye but he kept walking with her all the way to the library. When she was about to enter the library she turned to him. “How many times have you come into a library in these two years?”

Ryker shot up his shoulders. “Never.”

Cassie rolled her eyes. “You don’t need to change yourself for me and please don’t make this a competition.”

Ryker held her hand tight and stepped inside and there Cassie’s eyes landed on Daniel and Rita. A smile faded away from her lips and she flicked her head and walked past them. When Rita saw Ryker was holding Cassie’s hand anger coursed through her veins and she grunted. Daniel didn’t notice their presence so he looked at Rita and asked. “What happened?”

Rita responded. “I can’t believe Ryker broke up with me for this nerdy.”

This was the moment he realized that if Cassie had said something about Rita he wouldn’t have minded at all and now for the first time Rita called Cassie nerdy he didn’t like it. Daniel adjusted his glasses. "Would you mind not calling her nerdy?"


Rita looked at him. “I wanted to call her the worst.”

Daniel asked. “You really wanted to be with a guy who lost interest in you?”

Rite grinded her teeth. “Everything was normal between me and Ryker until this Cassie slut came into our lives.”

Daniel clenched his jaw. “What did you call her?”

Rite sensed his anger so she immediately clarified. “I swear I saw her making out with Steven in his dorm.”

Daniel wa taken aback. “What?”

Rita held a hand over Daniel’s hand. “I promise I have seen them kissing and touching each other. If you don’t trust me I can get you confirmed with two other girls.”

Daniel squinted. “Why on earth were you guys peaking into someone’s dorm?”

Rita squared her shoulders. “We didn’t peak they forgot to draw the curtains and we were passing by.”

Due to the fact that he made poor choices, Daniel was feeling bad about the fact that he had the opportunity to be with Cassie, but he had missed out on that opportunity. Following the kiss, he continued to ignore her, and she may have concluded that the kiss had been a pointless and unneeded experience. Daniel turned around to see Cassie sitting next to Ryker and both were looking comfortable in each other's company.

On the one hand, Daniel wanted to get out as quickly as possible from the library because he did not want to see Cassie with another guy. On the other hand, he also wanted to ask Cassie if she was with Ryker or Steven. Additionally, he wanted to explain to her that despite the passage of many days, he continues to think about the passionate kiss they shared in his car.

As soon as Cassie and Ryker left the library, an hour later, Daniel also finished up and asked Rita to carry out the rest of the work from tomorrow. Daniel was there to witness the moment Ryker kissed Cassie goodbye before leaving and dropping her off at her home. Daniel got out of his car and knocked on Cassie's door as Ryker drove away. He was trying to get Cassie's attention. When Ruth opened the door, Daniel became speechless and was at a loss for what to do because he had difficulty communicating with people he did not know. During the time that Ruth was attempting to figure out who the young man was standing in her doorway, Cassie also arrived at the door and was confused. "Daniel, what are you doing here?"

Daniel opened her mouth but Cassie continued to ask. “Is everything okay?”

Ruth tapped on her shoulder. “Let the young man talk.”

Cassie nodded and realized she was giving him a chance to talk.

Daniel sighed and asked. “Do you like Ryker or Steven?”

Cassie was taken aback and Ruth looked at her. “I thought you were confused between Daniel and Steven?”

Daniel looked at Cassie and pointed at Ruth. “What that lady is saying?”

Ruth responded. “Hey, that lady is still standing and her name is Ruth.”

Daniel held out his hand and both shook hands, Daniel asked. “How are you related to Cassie?”

Ruth while shaking hands. “I am her dear mommy.”

Cassie finally gathered up the courage to respond. “Mom, could you please leave us alone for a while because we need to talk.” she held Daniel’s arm and led him to her room.

Cassie shut the door behind and asked. “Why are you asking me about Steven and Ryker?”

Daniel shot up his shoulders. “That doesn’t matter because the fact of the matter is that you kissed me and then realized that Daniel is not charming or good-looking, so let's friend zone him and pursue the Elite's most popular guys."

Cassie asked in anger. “You really think that about me?”

Daniel looked the other way. “It doesn’t matter what I think about you because you are either with Ryker or with Steven and here I was waiting for a chance for you to talk about the kiss we had in my car.”
