Cassie asked when both were standing under the running shower. “It wasn’t your first time. Right?”

Daniel asked. “Does it bother you?”

Cassie shook her head. “Just curious.”

Daniel cupped her face. “It was way a long time ago.”

Cassie asked. “But I want to know with whom?”

Daniel kissed her. “In high school.”

Cassie asked. “Is she still your friend?”

Daniel raised his brow. “Are you jealous?”

Cassie nodded. “Of course, I should know with whom I should be cautious.”

Daniel sighed and turned to grab a shampoo then gave it to her. “In high school, a girl came close to me because ultimately she wanted to be with Ryker so you could say I was the channel for her.”

Cassie poured shampoo on her head and started to make a lather. “So why the fuck she had sex with you? If she wanted to be with Ryker.”

Daniel shook his head. “I think we were young and couldn’t control emotions and it happened.”

Cassie washed her head. “How many times?’

Daniel giggled. “Why do I feel less shower and more interrogation?”

After meeting Ruth and also telling her about the job situation Cassie rushed to work and inquired the reason for their call yesterday.

The receptionist pressed her lips when Cassie told her name. Cassie wanted to part the ground and bury herself because she sensed the girl heard them kissing and moaning. “I called you yesterday to ask if you are willing to work 6 p.m. to 12 a.m?”

Cassie nodded and asked if she needed to come back at 6 p.m. to which the receptionist smiled. “No, you can join from tomorrow.”

Cassie was about to go but she turned around. “How much did you hear?”

The receptionist swallowed the saliva. “Don’t worry not much I dropped the line on your first moan.”

Cassie blushed and the receptionist held out her hand. “I am Rachel.”

Cassie shook hands and Rachel added. “Next time I’d prefer to text you.” both laughed and then Cassie left the cafe.

Cassie went back to the hospital and shared the news with Daniel and her mom about her permanent job at the cafe as an assistant chef. Ruth told Cassie to go home resume college and start her job as she is feeling fine now.

Cassie denied. “Not a chance until you go back home.”

Ruth asked. “But except sitting in a waiting area what else you would do?”

Cassie flared her nostrils. “This is not up for discussion because you’d never understand what I went through when I found you unconscious on the floor. If Daniel hadn’t come, I might have had a heart attack and ended up lying next to you on the floor.”

Ruth was about to respond but the nurse came and asked Daniel and Cassie to go out of Ruth’s room as it was her time to sleep. She was on medication and under observation until her test results came.

Cassie while heading out of the room looked at Daniel. “I have kept my promise now it's your turn.”

Daniel kissed her forehead. “Yeah, I remembered mine.”

Cassie pointed at the gate. “Then go you have to sleep early to get up for college.”

Daniel ducked his head. “I promised to resume college not to leave you alone especially when you are not feeling good.”

Cassie took a deep breath. “I am perfectly fine.”

Daniel took out medicines from her back pocket. “Do you think I didn’t notice you are in pain?”

Cassie smiled and shrugged her head. “I don’t know what I would do without you.”

Daniel gave her a water bottle and she swallowed the tablet. Cassie asked. “I saw you and Mom talking a lot I was wondering what you guys talk about?”

Daniel squared his shoulders. “Nothing she keeps advising me how to ask you out?”

Cassie was taken aback. “What?”

Daniel adjusted his glasses. “Yeah, your mom loves me and wants you to date me.”

Cassie raised her brow. “Did you tell her about..?”

Daniel pressed his lips and Cassie’s voice got a bit loud that echoed in the room. Daniel shushed her.

Cassie grunted. “Don’t you dare to tell me what to do and what not? How could you tell this to my mom that we have had sex?”

Peter cleared his throat to let them know about his presence as he was standing in a doorway.
