Chapter 42

Peter walked into the living room with a frustrated look on his face. Diana, his mom, was setting the table for dinner. Diana raised her head. "Peter, come on dinner is ready."

Peter shook his head. "I am not hungry."

Diana asked her. "Is everything alright?"

Peter lost it. "Why do you ask the same things over and over? Why can't I skip dinner without being in complications?"

Diana was shocked. "All I care about is you. Don't be so mean."

Peter raised his voice. "Everything's okay with me? Drop it!"

Emily came to Diana and whispered. “I told you he has been acting so weird for the last few days.”

Claire another sister nodded. “Yeah, he was so rude to me yesterday when I asked him to fetch me a glass of water.”

Diana rolled her eyes. “Come on girls cut your brother some slacks, his finals are next week. He must be stressed.”

Claire asked. “It’s not the first final of his life.”

Diana widened her eyes and gave Claire and Emily a stare to change the topic. Emily looked at Claire. Now we should know from where Peter got his attitude.”

Diana heard but she pressed her smile between her lips served them dinner and asked about her eldest daughter after Peter. “When Lydia has left for her prom night?”

Claire shot up her shoulders as if she never had anything to do with anyone. Diana looked at Emily and she started giving her details about her hair, make-up, dress, and who came to pick her up in which car along with all unnecessary information in which Diana was not interested.

Peter behaved normally around Cassie in college. He kept up his normal mood while taking part in class discussions and hanging out with friends after classes. Nobody who saw him thought anything was wrong; he looked like the same old Peter. But there was a volcano exploding below this calm façade.

He had to go on the trip because he didn't want Cassie to know how much that kiss meant to him and how it turned his life upside down.

The group had set up camp by a peaceful lake while on a trip. Everyone was having a good time, laughing and enjoying the fresh air, but Peter's internal turmoil was still very much present.

While everyone else went to get fuel and set up tents, Peter was left with Cassie. Recently, they hadn't talked much, and the silence felt heavy. Cassie knew he was feeling uneasy, so she chose to talk to him about it.
"Peter, you have been acting so distant."

"I don't want to talk about it, and just so you know, Cassie, nothing is wrong. "I'm fine."

Cassie frowned. "Do you think I can't sense your restlessness since that kiss?"

Peter raised his voice. "I told you I am okay, right?" "Why don't you just leave it alone?"

Cassie was taken aback in shock at his rage. She looked into his eyes to try to figure out what was going on. "I only want to talk and clear the air, Peter. But you can push me away, then go ahead."
Peter's anger flared. "Do you really think you can just walk in and fix everything?" It's not that easy!"

Cassie replied with anger. "Maybe if you opened up instead of shutting me out, it could be!"

Cassie threw a stick into the fire in anger because Peter was acting like Cassie was not there. A light flare backfired and Cassie covered her face immediately. Peter jumped between her and the fire. “Are you alright?”
Cassie looked at him for a while. “What the hell do you care?”

Peter had no courage to let her go away so he tucked her strand behind her ear. “What are you doing to me, Cassie?”

Cassie sighed. “I am as confused as you are Peter.”

Peter cupped her face and once again they shared a passionate kiss and this time Peter picked her up and shoved her in a nearby tree. A shiver of pleasure rippled through her veins as she was wrapping her legs around his waist. Cassie’s throbbing pussy was perfectly placed on his iron-hard cock. Cassie couldn’t resist kissing him back and her hands were buried in Peter’s hair.

Peter removed his hands from her ass and pushed her back into the tree and split her shirt. Peter started leaving a trail of kisses from her lips to her chin and then to her neck. After sucking on her neck for a while he moved down to the rise of her cleavage. Peter grunted when his mouth touched the fabric and skin was under it. Cassie moaned and begged him, “Peter please go on.”

Peter opened his eyes and kissed his hand over her cheek. “If I go further then there will be no turning back and I don’t want to get into any complications.”

Peter placed her back on the ground and covered her cleavage by joining her parted shirt together. Peter shook his head. “I can’t do this, Cassie; I am sorry.” Peter ran his hand through his hair and walked away.

Cassie was not heartbroken but angry. She felt used by Peter twice. She took a few deep breaths and followed him. Peter was sitting in his tent, regretting his actions once again, when Cassie barged in and snapped at him. “What the fuck do you think you are?”

Peter stood up with a trembling voice and moist eyes. “I told you I am sorry.”

Cassie pushed him back. “Do you think sorry would mend what you broke in me?”

Peter was acting miserable like he didn’t want to fight back her. “All right hit me. I deserve this, hit me hard.”

Cassie grabbed his shirt. “Next time if you dare to touch me I am warning you won’t be good for you.”

Peter started to shiver and Cassie saw his bulging veins on both temples. When didn’t respond she whined, “Why are you ruining our friendship, Peter?”

Peter closed his eyes. “Because you have become more than a friend to me.”
