CHAPTER 11

Her hair was pinned nicely behind her back before the diamond tiara on her head.
“It’s time, they are waiting.”
Talia was escorted out of the changing and straight to the hall where she found her nanaba looking gorgeous as always.
“You look beautiful, my child,” she said kissing her cheeks.
“Thank you, nanaba.”
“Let’s go inside, a lot of people are waiting.”
“Let’s get this over with.”
Her nanaba took her arm in hers and the doors opened. The orchestra was playing the wedding march while she walked down the aisle. Her husband Neal was standing in the front in a gorgeous black tuxedo. He was a very handsome man indeed. Her nanaba handed her over to Neal who took her hand and the two faced the Arch Bishop.
They took their vows in front of everyone in the modern way and exchanged the wedding bands.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife, prince and princess. You may kiss the bride,” he said.
She was nervous; she had never dated anyone before. She was too busy trying to make a living and now she had a husband. Neal looked at her and smiled. His smile was somehow calming, telling her that it was okay and she should trust him. He was now her husband and she was going to put all her trust in him.
He came closer to her and cupped her cheek with his hand. He leaned in closer and kissed her lightly on her lips for thirty seconds. The crowd was cheering and she was blushing. How could they kiss with everyone watching like that? He stopped the kiss and took her hands in his.
The wedding ceremony was finally over and it was already nearly noon. She was starving but she wasn’t going to run away that fast. They left the hall and went to the balcony which overlooked the roads where the people were standing watching the wedding ceremonies. They waved to the public at all sides before they returned back inside.
“You need to change for the reception,” Jane said.
“If I change one more time, I think my hair will surely turn white,” she said looking at her.
“It will be the last time. You have the reception to attend to.”
She followed Jane to the changing room and she undressed the wedding gown she had on earlier for another emerald gown. After her change of clothes, she went where her nanaba was. She hugged her once more before her husband arrived.
“You look more gorgeous every time I see you,” he said.
“Thank you, you do too.”
“We have to leave in a few minutes, so bid nanaba goodbye and we will be on our way. I will be there with my friends.”
“Okay, I will join you in a moment,” she said and watched Neal leave.
“I can’t believe I get to witness a day like this.”
“I’m glad you did.”
“You know what to do right?”
“Yes, I know. I won’t disappoint you.”
“You can never disappoint me Lia. She must have visited you.”
“You know about her?”
“Yes, I do. Just do whatever she asks, she doesn’t have much time and if you start seeing any changes on you please call me.”
“What do you mean?”
“You will know when that time comes. Now go, you have a long journey ahead of you.”
“Do you know where we are going?”
“I don’t,” nanaba said but she could tell that she was lying.
“I love you and take care of yourself while I’m gone. Of its possible you should give him a chance. You know he really cares for you right?”
“I know, I will think about it.”
Talia was about to leave when the Priestess made her way to where she was.
“Princess, may I talk to you?”
“Sure, how can I be of your service Priestess?”
“I need to give you something. It belongs to you.”
That was very tricky. She didn’t remember having anything to do with this woman at all.
“I can tell you have questions but there will be answers another time. Take this and open it when you arrive,” she said and handed her a box.
“Thank you,” she said and saw Neal coming over.
“Priestess, nanaba,” he said and looked at her.
“I will take my leave now.”
She followed Neal and bided the King and the Queen farewell before heading for the exit. Outside people were still waiting, cheering at them as they board the chariot together again. The chariot began to move and she knew that her life would never be the same again.
“You did wonderful out there,” Neal said to her.
“Thanks, I was pretty scared earlier but now I’m fine. So where are we going?”
“Honeymoon,” he said so proudly.
“Oh!”
He laughed at her and said, “are you going to act all shy on me now dear wife?”
“Can’t I be?”
“I just want you to act freely with me. I’m your husband so don’t treat me differently.”
“I will bear that in mind.”
