CHAPTER 12

The chariot passed through many roads and from time to time they waved until they reached the palace. At the place their bags were already packed and the car was waiting.
The car took them to the airport where the royal jet was waiting for them. After settling the jet was airborne. Because she was tired, she just closed her eyes forgetting that she had not eaten anything and slept.
She had another dream again. She saw the silver haired lady again, holding the seven-gem bead bracelet in her left hand and using her right hand to touch people.
She could see and hear their thoughts, their pasts and future. It was as if the bracelet was a guide that helped her to maneuver well. The woman kept doing that to people and telling them words that brought them hope and it was beautiful.
She avoided telling them the sad parts and tells them how to avoid some calamities too. If her gift was the same as the silver haired lady then she really had a huge job to do.
When the woman finished, she turned around and looked at her.
“Never part with the bracelet. Your powers are not in the bracelet but the bracelet is also who you are. As time goes on, you will be able to control it and avoid unnecessary visions and dreams.
Remember not to help the wicked but help those who really need the help. I can tell you are quick witted and you have made sense of everything you have seen. I have been here for too long, it’s time for me to go now,” she said and disappeared.
Why would she disappear when she hasn’t even asked her a single question? She began to run calling her out but it was just a waste of time.
All of a sudden, she felt herself being shaken and she woke up screaming.
“Talia, are you okay?” Neal asked her the second her eyes opened.
“I’m fine, it was just a nightmare,” she lied.
Neal took out his handkerchief and he began to wipe her face.
“You are sweating,” he said.
She smiled at him and said, “thank you.”
“If anything is troubling you just tell me, okay?”
“Yes, I will surely do. Right now, I can do with some food. Is there anything to eat here?”
“There is.”
Neal called the air hostess and told her to prepare some food. Ten minutes later she came back with so much food, she had a feast.
“You were starving?”
“I haven’t eaten anything since morning.”
“That’s too much.”
“I told you that I was nervous. When are we arriving?”
“About thirty minutes left.”
“That’s good then,” she said and took out her phone from her purse.
She began to look at videos that had been posted regarding the wedding and she couldn’t help it but laugh, cry and felt very embarrassed for herself. Neal joined her to watch and in a nick of time the jet descended and arrived at the airport.
It was when they were outside, she realized that they were no longer in Qarth.
“Which country is this?” she asked.
“Mereen,” he replied.
“I have always wanted to visit. There are so many places I would want to go too,” she said full of excitement.
“I know which is why I wanted to surprise you. I’m glad you love it.”
“You are the best,” she said and hugged him.
A few seconds later, sense kicked in and she immediately removed herself from his embrace but he pulled her to him.
“Since you have thrown yourself at me, I won’t let you go that easily dear wife,” Neal said and pulled her close to him.
She shivered and Neal dipped his head to cover her mouth with his. He kissed her as though he and only he knew the secrets of her heart. Reaching up, she clasped his face, savoring his warmth, the flutter of his breath and the musk of his skin.
She loved the feel of his mouth against hers, loved the way his arm pulled her close, loved the pressure of his knee between her thighs and the crush of his chest against her tender breasts.
“We can’t do this here!” Neal said against her mouth and she just looked at him.
He looked around and she did the same and realized that they were still at the airport and had drawn a lot of attention to themselves.
“It’s kind of embarrassing,” she muttered.
“No, it’s not. It will be seen as two passionate people who can’t wait to start their honeymoon. Let’s go now, we have a lot to do,” Neal said and led her to the car that was waiting for them.
She was embarrassed especially when she knows what he meant by those words. She wanted him and he wanted her too which was mutual. Maybe this marriage was going to work out after all. But will he be disappointed when he learns that she was still a virgin and had no experience whatsoever?
She was going to face that when she arrives wherever they were going next.
