CHAPTER 33

People were taking pictures and even videos. He saw that Talia became aware of him and yet she didn’t even move an inch. The Talia he knew even for the past weeks she would welcome him home and was just as calm but this one was very angry.
“Your Highness,” she said as she stood up when he arrived.
“Talia, what’s going on here?” he asked her.
“I’m waiting for him to prepare my food and the rest of their food,” she said and offered him a seat.
“No, you can sit,” he said and she did.
“So, what are you doing here?” she asked as if she didn’t know.
“I heard about what you were doing and was worried so I came.”
“Is that really the reason?” she asked him masking her anger with a smile. There were a lot of people and he wasn’t going to fight her here.
“Your hot dog is done,” the old man said and gave it to Talia who accepted it with a smile.
“Thank you,” she said and bites in.
“Is it that nice?”
“It is, you should try it. The old man is a professional,” he said.
Since he had not eaten anything, he took one of the hotdogs and ate it himself. By the time they finished eating all the guards had been given their share. Talia gulped down her orange juice while he drank the water that was meant for her. After that Talia paid the old man and they left the park without saying anything to each other.
“Get into my car,” he said as they arrived where the cars had been parked. She obeyed and settled herself in the car and put on her seatbelt.
He couldn’t understand what was really rolling in her mind, so he drove not to the mansion but to the woods where it was just only the two of them. He instructed the guards to stay alert and not to allow anyone to enter the perimeter he had established. He took his wife a bit far from the guards and she looked at him.
“Are you going to tell me exactly what you are doing,” he snapped at her.
“I didn’t know that it was a crime for an unloved duchess to go out and find her own happiness.”
“You really know that you are a duchess and yet you go out to play?”
“Yes, I do know that. If you wanted someone so graceful and full of many virtues then you chose a wrong wife Neal. I can deal with it that you don’t love me but please stay out of my life and let me be happy. I’m just a decoration in your house, you don’t even know that I exist and you want to tell me about some rules. You must be kidding me!” she was shaking from anger and that was bad.
He didn’t know that she was keeping so much inside.
“Talia calm down.”
“I tried to; which is why I went out to be happy but you spoiled it and now you tell me to be calm. That is impossible!” she said and the trees began to move.
There seemed to be a sudden wind that had just come into the woods and he knew exactly where it was coming from.
“You can do what you want Neal but never show me because I swear, I will tear her apart in front of you so that you will know what I will do to the next one and I mean every word.
Concentrate on your exams and I will do so on what I have to do to keep sane. Never tell me about the damn rules again. Have you ever wondered how I sleep at night; if I really sleep and eat well at all?
You never but you are now concerned of what I might do to other people simply because wanted to go out of the mansion. Simply because I can’t read your mind Neal doesn’t mean I’m a fool. Do you think I wanted to be like this?” she asked and there was thunder all of a sudden.
“Talia calm down, please!” he screamed at her but she grabbed him.
“If you don’t care about me then please don’t give me any hope. Just don’t be cruel at me. I beg of you,” she said her eyes turning red.
What was happening to her? He was really scared and didn’t know what to do. He had caused this; made her like that and he needed to calm her down so he did something he just missed doing. He kissed her hard enough to make her forget about the current predicament. Her eyes began to clear out and so the wind.
He could tell that she was weakening and the next thing he knew Talia fell to the ground.
“Talia!” he shook her but her eyes were now closed and she was breathing very faintly.
He picked her up and ran with her to the car.
“What happened?” Beth asked.
“She fainted. Call the hospital now and tell them to send the ambulance. We will meet it on the way.”
“Yes.”
He put her in the car and drove off as fast as he could. He met the ambulance on the way and they took her and put her on oxygen. He drove behind them and called his mother as soon as he could.
He was pacing up and down when his mother arrived.
“What happened? Why would she suddenly faint,” she asked him.
“We were having an argument and it went all crazy and the next thing she was on the ground.
“Didn’t I tell you not to make her upset?”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to at all. It just happened, please forgive me.”
“Let’s just pray that nothing is wrong with her or else it would be the end of us,” she said.
