CHAPTER 31

The car came to the front and Beth opened the door for her. Talia went into the back seat of the car and Beth to the front. The car left the mansion while she pondered on her destination.
“Have you thought of where you will be going?”
“Take me to the amusement park,” she suddenly said.
“Did you just say amusement park?”
“Yes, I did, why?”
“It’s crowded,” Bet said.
“I know and I still want to go there. Am I now taking orders from you?” she asked angrily.
“I’m sorry duchess, I was worried.”
“Take me there and I want some peace and quiet on the way,” she said closing her eyes.
It wasn’t Beth’s fault but she was just mad and she didn’t know where to vent it out to. At least if she visits the amusement park she had never gone to before she might feel better.
She had always wanted to go but she never ad friends to begin with. Being poor was a problem and didn’t attract any friends. Even when she worked and saved money she still couldn’t go.
Wasting money on such things wants for her but since she had money she could go and be merry for once. Who said a duchess can’t play on a swing?
They arrived at the park and when she arrived at the gates, they were even shocked. The manager had to come to ask if that was really true.
“Can’t I enter the park?” she asked.
“It’s not that Duchess. It’s just crowded and we are afraid of your safety.”
“Don’t worry about that. No one can hurt me even if they tried. So just let me enter before I do something that will make this park to close. You wouldn’t want that, would you?”
“No, ma’am; I wouldn’t. Please enter,” the sacred manager said and she smiled at him.
“Thank you. You will receive good news soon. Congratulations,” she said and entered the park.
She felt like a child again. Children were running around, the elders noticed her so they were busy taking pictures but she wasn’t interested in that. Beth had made sure to call back up when she realized where they were going. The number of her security detail was a lot compared to other days.
“Duchess, your husband is calling,” Beth said and she looked at her.
Just because she decided to leave the mansion now her husband was so eager to call her.
“I can’t pick his call right now. I have a roller coaster to get onto,” she said.
“But…”
“Beth, please just let me be today,” she said and went to the roller coaster.
If he was so interested in talking to her then he should do so when they were home.
She found a train that people were boarding and she got on with Beth by her side. She didn’t really hate her but Beth just loved her job too much. She lost her family and was overprotective of those that she was assigned to protect. She liked her and hated her at the same time.
The train got filled and it was on its way. She was scared since she had never done it before. If Neal was with her then it would have been better but he was busy and concerned with only himself.
She took a deep breath and began to roll her beads as the train went on its way. Getting on the plane wasn’t scary at all but this experience was one hell of a ride. Because all eyes were on her she couldn’t scream, she kept telling herself that she was strong and she did it.
By the time the train reached the start she was fine but she wasn’t going to ride it in a long time. Talia looked at Beth who looked normal as if she wasn’t on the ride before.
After the roller coaster she tried a few more rides, some were scary but she got the hang of it.
“If I had known this was too much fun, I would have come a very long time ago,” she said excitedly as she moved to the haunted house.
“Duchess, are you sure you want to go inside there?”
“I can’t just leave without seeing how scary it is,” she said.
“But…”
“How about we make a deal?”
“What kind of deal?”
“I go inside there and you can follow me and that will be the last place I visit today. After the haunted house we can find a nice stall and buy something to eat. Are you happy?”
“I am. Let’s do that then,” Beth said and urged her to go.
Talia knew that she was just worried. The haunted house was known for being scary but since she could tell they were all lies would she really be scared. That fact was proven by the time she heard a clang sound just behind her. She froze on the spot. Who would try such a devious scheme on her?
