CHAPTER 22

“Mother, how have you been?”
“I am great dear. I’m glad you came early, I have something for you,” the Queen said.
She followed the queen to the salon room where she found a nice white and sky-blue attire hanged on the hanger. Of course, it was meant for her, no one in the whole of Qarth dressed like her unless they wanted to.
“Thank you, it’s beautiful,” she said touching it.
“I knew you would like it. Wear this when the party starts.”
“I will thank you.”
“I should be the one thanking you.”
“Why would you do that?”
“My husband told me a lot of things after you left. He never opened his heart before the way he did. I’m grateful to you that I now know his feelings towards me.”
“He loves you anyone can tell.”
“Sometimes we just want to hear the words.”
“Yes, we do. I really do.”
“You love my son, don’t you?”
“I do a lot.”
“I’m happy to hear that. I just hope he will see it and share the same heart with you.”
“I’m satisfied with what I have now, at least he cares. It’s better than being totally ignored.”
“You are really an understanding woman. My son is lucky to have you.”
“I’m lucky to have him too.”
“It’s time to meet your other sister in laws. Last time you didn’t have a chance to talk to them.”
“Yes, I didn’t. I hope they will not be harsh on me.”
“They won’t,” the queen said and ushered her out of the room.
She followed the queen until they arrived in the lounge.
“I have guests I need to welcome. Go and see them,” she said and left.
Talia took a deep breath and looked at her sister in laws. They were both older than her and they both have children which was good for them. As she walked towards them, she saw something very interesting she wanted to laugh but stopped herself.
“Hello,” she said as she arrived where the two fine ladies were standing.
They looked at her with that face that just stepped down on her but she calmed herself down.
“It’s nice to finally meet you,” she said and extended her hand to them.
They took their time but finally they reached out and shook hands.
“It’s nice to meet you too,” the older one said.
She didn’t know what to talk about with people who didn’t like her. Whatever she says might be used against her later so she just remained quiet also and found a couch and sat in it.
Since they were talking between themselves and badmouthing her, she closed her eyes and decided to teach them a great lesson. They began to cough and the next thing she couldn’t hear their voices at all. She opened her eyes and looked at them.
“What’s wrong?” she asked them but there was no reply.
She stood up and left the room. She was going to make them quiet until they knew what to talk about.
Bored of being inside she made her way out of the palace and went to the back garden where she found the gazebo empty. She took a seat and placed her beads on the marble table. She was finally alone, she thought to herself.
As she enjoyed the scenery and imagining what her sister in laws where going through at the moment, she couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“I have heard that you were weird but I guess they left out the part that you were also crazy,” a female voice sad and she turned her head and only to see Chloe looking gorgeous in a golden dress.
“I guess seeing is believing. It’s nice to officially meet you Chloe,” she said with respect.
“So, you know who I am?”
“Everyone knows who you are and it’s an honor,” she meant it.
This girl knew everything about herself. What he likes and hates. She could learn a few things from her if she provokes her.
“Why should a young girl like you dress like an oldie and walk around with some beads? I should just help you and throw them out for you,” Chloe said and reached her hand for the beads which was a good thing.
“You should mind what you touch; you never know what damage it may cause.”
“I’m not a superstitious person and I don’t believe a crap of what they say about you. They are all fools to believe you,” Chloe said and touched the beads.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” Talia repeated but Chloe was a hard nut to crack.
“So, what did he see in you?”
