CHAPTER 15
He immediately carried her out of the tub. She was bleeding and seemed to have fallen in the tub. Not waiting for an ambulance, he put a gown on her and drove her immediately to the nearest hospital where she got admitted immediately. After some minutes the doctor came out.
“She is fine but has a concussion. After some rest she will be fine.”
“Is she awake?”
“That’s the problem, everything seems to be fine but she is just not waking up. She is responding, I guess she might be stressed.”
“Can I go in and see her now?”
“Yes, you can.”
Neal went inside the room and saw Talia lying there as if she was sleeping. Did she overhead his conversation with Chloe earlier and ended up like this? Because he was panicking, he called back home. His mother was even more furious and told him that their doctor would be arriving and then they were returning back to Qarth.
He stayed in her room for the entire day talking to her and still she wasn’t waking up. When the doctor arrived, she was discharged and they went back onto the jet and headed for home.
“Doc, what do you think happened to her?”
“I think we will see with time. Right now, just have to make sure she is constantly monitored. She will wake up; she is a strong woman.”
“I hope so.”
He didn’t talk much even when they arrived back at the Qarth International airport. An ambulance was already waiting for them and they headed straight to the palace.
“What really happened?” his mother asked.
He explained in detail what happened and he saw his mother shaking her head.
“She wouldn’t do that even if she sees you with her. She is a strong person Neal. I guess I should tell you what your wife really is just in case something gets weird.”
“Mother, what are you trying to say?” he asked full of confusion.
“It’s like this……” his mother began to explain to him and it all got worse.
According to his mother, Talia was a seer, someone he only heard through stories. Even though the story was hilarious it made sense. The first time he saw her she was acting all crazy, the other time in the jet she had a nightmare and lied about it.
“So, what exactly are you saying?”
“I’m saying that if she wakes up, she might be different from the woman you saw last night but she will be your wife. She will love you, respect you and above all protect you from any harm.
If she ever does something wrong you have to bear in mind that she did it all for your sake. She might wake up ugly or even more beautiful but she is still the same Talia that you married.”
“You mean all those stories were really true?”
“Yes, they were son. You need to protect her but above all never make her angry. You never know what havoc she might cause,” his mother said.
“What do you mean by that?” he asked.
Before his mother could reply him, Talia began to shake on the bed a lot as if she was fighting with someone. The monitor kept beeping that the nurse rushed in and injected her so that she could calm down.
“What just happened?”
“That my son, I don’t know,” his mother answered.
“Close the windows!” someone was shouting and he called one maid that was passing by.
“What’s happening?”
“There is a huge storm?”
“What do you mean a storm at this time of the year?”
“It’s confusing your highness. We need to close the windows.”
He sat down next to Talia and looked at his mother.
“Is she causing this too?”
“I’m afraid, she is.”
“Is there any way to stop it?”
“There is. Did you bring her beads?”
“You mean the colored ones?”
“Yes those. Where are they?”
“In her bag.”
“Take them out and place them in her hand.”
“Will that work?”
“I only heard about it. Be quick before anyone dies,’” his mother shouted.
He quickly went through her bag and retrieved the beads and placed them in her hands as his mother instructed.
He watched as Talia clenched the beads even when she was unconscious. He went to the window and saw the storm disappearing bit by bit until it was all calm.
“I can’t believe that actually worked. What made her do that again?”
“Anger, I guess. We will know once she woke up. Right now go and rest, I will have Jane to look after her. You go and put your house in order,” she warned.
“Yes mother, I will. Take care of her for me okay.”
“I will.”
