CHAPTER 39

Talia greeted every single one of them even though it was tiring. But the more she did it the more she realized why they stood there.
“I’m honored to have you wait here for us. Thank you very much but as for the reason you all waited here, I will meet you one by one as the things we have ordered get loaded,” she said.
“Good idea,” Neal said.
They entered inside and they gave her the manager’s office for the consultation.
“I will be outside; you just do your thing and don’t stress. We don’t want anything happening to the baby,” he said.
“I will be careful. Take care,” she said and Neal left the room.
The staff began to enter one by one and she began to help them in a way she could. Some wanted to know about their future, others just wanted to enquire. What she could help with she did.
They were coming to an end and the last one entered. Beth gave her the bottle of juice which she took and drank a few sips before putting it on the table.
She took out his hand and gazed into his life. Why would someone lead such a horrible life? He never asked for it and yet he had to pay for what his ancestors did.
“There is an avenging spirit in your family that you are not aware of. It’s making everything in your life to be a mess. You work so hard and yet there are no results. You could have been in a higher position now but because of that spirit you are only going backwards. But today is your day, since you have met me, I will give you instructions you need to follow,” she told him.
“I will do as you ask of me as long my life can change for the better.”
Talia began to tell the man what he had to do.
“Go to the temple and ask for a priest or a priestess. Tell them what I just told you and they will help you. Those will be enough to appease the spirit and bind it. it will never trouble you again. The sooner you do it the better,” she said.
“Thank you very much. I will always be grateful,” he said.
“I’m only doing my duty,” she said.
She took her juice again as the man left the office.
“Where is my husband?”
“He is outside overseeing the loading of the blankets into the trucks,” Beth told her.
“Okay, I will go to him then,” she said and stood up from the chair. Her legs felt very numb but she was still going.
***
Neal didn’t know how Talia had the idea of picking winter clothes especially when the weather was still fine. There were still more months before winter arrives. Since she was a seer then she was probably seeing something. The loads were about to be finished when Talia showed up. He rushed towards her and held her hand.
“What’s wrong?” he asked her.
“My legs are feeling funny, that’s all,” she replied.
“Find me a chair,” he told one of the guards who ran immediately.
“Why do you want a chair?”
“You will see soon,” he said.
He led her somewhere where she could see the trucks being loaded. The guard came back with the chair and he made her sit. He knelt in front of her, making her blush.
“I’m going to massage your legs. You have been sitting for long,” he told her.
“Thank you.”
“You are welcome,” he said. He began to massage her and didn’t even care that people were watching. They understood after all most of them were married too.
“I should be pregnant all the time,” Talia said and he laughed.
“I guess I will be a busy man then.”
“You will be.”
After a while he finished massaging her and helped her up. The trucks were almost done.
“After this where are we going?” he asked her.
“Let’s buy some food vouchers for them. It’s no use being dressed while you are starving,” she said and it made sense.
“Speaking of which, do you still need your pizza?”
“I still do. Since they are almost done here, they know what to do.”
“They do. Let me finish up while you head for the car.”
“Sure, I will leave first then.”
Neal went to talk to the drivers while Talia went to the car. He told them what they were supposed to do. The trucks were supposed to go the next day and not that day. So, they had to make sure they are well protected so that there will be no mistake.
After that he left someone to manage the procedure and went to the car. He found his wife already seated in the car and she was busy eating an orange.
“You are starving?”
“I am. After all that talking, I feel like having a huge pot of chicken ginger soup.”
“Talia, where would I get that?”
“I don’t know but if I don’t have it tomorrow, I think it will rain,” she said jokingly and he just kissed her.
“Don’t play like that.”
“Sorry.”
