CHAPTER 17

“Priestess, please come in,” he said and offered her a seat but she kept standing.
“I can tell you are worried but it’s okay. Everything seems to be ready now, soon she will be awakening but there are a few things you need to bear in mind before she does.”
“I think I heard enough of it.”
“It’s not what you heard but something else different.”
“Tell me.”
“Rules are rules and we have to abide by them. The royal tailor department received orders already so don’t panic. When she woke up, she won’t be able to dress like any usual lady out there but she must wear what her predecessors used to wear.”
“And what is that exactly?”
“You know our traditional attires, right?”
“Yes, I do.”
“She will wear that and don’t worry she will remain beautiful regardless of her hair. Most seers didn’t have this happening to them but it seemed like she was visited by the ancestor and she had hair like that when young. So, don’t think too much.”
“I will bear that in mind. Is there anything else I should bear in mind?”
“There is actually. Her diet will change.”
“In which way exactly?”
“She will be restricted to have any red meat from now on. She is allowed to have fish, pork and chicken.”
“Is that all she must eat?”
“She can eat anything except for red meat. She herself would see which diet suits her best but all Seers see it as a taboo to eat red meat.”
“Thank you for telling me that.”
“It’s my duty to do so.”
“So, will she still stay with me even when she becomes a seer?”
“Yes, she will. Seers don’t have temples or anything of those sorts. They go where they feel they wanted but at the end of the day they will always return home to their families. They put greater importance on family the most.”
“I’m relieved then. I will see to it that I remember every word you said.”
“I will take my leave then. Don’t despair, she will awake soon.”
“I hope so. Have a safe journey, Priestess.”
The Priestess left and he took his wife’s hand in his. This past week he had not left the palace at all. His brothers even urged him but he couldn’t leave her side at all. He had realized what she meant to him when she was lying there.

She gasped as she woke up from a long dream. She couldn’t believe what had happened at all. One second she was having a great time with Neal and the next she fainted when she entered the tub.
It was like a long dream she could never wake up from. She lived all her predecessor’s lives and even saw her mother. The woman she had never met. She was beautiful and delightful. Her death was tragic; nanaba never told her she died painfully like that.
At one point she didn’t want to leave her and caused floods in her dream but she felt it. The power of the beads in her hand and she knew she had to wake up but she just couldn’t. After what seemed like ages her mother appeared to her again and told her that it was time to go.
She told her that she was now ready and many people were waiting for her.
When she opened her eyes, Neal was sleeping by her side. She didn’t know how long he had been there but his book was closed and on the floor. She woke up quietly so as not to disturb him and got out of bed.
She put the bedcover on top of him so that he won’t feel any chill. She stared at him for a time and smiled, she was in love with him. Was that a good thing or a bad thing?
Walking away from the bed, she saw his phone and took it. She looked at the date and realized that she had been sleeping for seven days. At least she woke up before his birthday which was good. It would have been bad if she missed such a great event. Her own twentieth birthday would be done shortly after Neal’s.
She went to the en-suite bathroom where she shocked the hell out of herself and withdrew from screaming out loud. Why did her ancestor did this to her? She would have just left her with her normal hair.
Why did she have to pass that silver to her too? After looking for a while she calmed down and realized how powerful she was. Her ancestor had bestowed all her powers onto her and she couldn’t wait to see how well she does but first she would need a bath.
She filled the tub with warm water, poured some lavender bubble bath in it and some herbs. After testing the water, she slid in. she could feel that she was different. She had been taught everything she needed to know and her life wasn’t going to be the same again.
She lay in the tub and let the water sink in and closed her eyes. She held her beads on her left side, meditating at the same time when she heard him calling out her name.
“I’m here!” she called back and immediately Neal rushed in.
He looked at her and saw the relief in his eyes.
“You surprised me. Why didn’t you wake me up?”
“I couldn’t, you were sleeping so soundly. I’m sorry for making you worry,” she said trying to leave the tub but he stopped her.
“No, don’t get out. I will help you bath.”
“I can do it myself,” she said trying not to get involved. She might have slept with him but thinking about it made her very shy.
