EPILOGUE
Talia couldn’t stop laughing as she watched her sister in law children playing hide and seek. They were so cute and lame. How could they be foolish like that?
Because she was heavy, she was now moving around in a wheel chair and had been staying in the palace for a few weeks now. The queen wasn’t taking any chances. She was in her last trimester and she just looked like a huge ball.
Her husband appeared holding her favorite dumplings and she shoved one into her mouth the second the plate landed on her thighs. She was enjoying her food so well when the pain started. She screamed and threw away the plate.
“Baby, is everything okay?” Neal asked very worried.
She looked at herself; feeling wet and she looked at down and saw the pool of water between her legs.
“I think my water just broke,” she murmured.
“Oh my god, she is going into labor!” Jane who was close called out.
Whatever happened next she didn’t know. Everyone just started running. Why was she going so early when there were a few more weeks to go?
Seeing herself lying on those beds as the oxygen mask was safely put on her face. She knew her life was hanging in the balance.
“Baby, I will be right here. I won’t leave your side no matter what,” Neal said and those were the last words she heard before she fell into another endless dream.
The dream was so beautiful, she saw herself playing in the back garden with her husband and her three children. She had one beautiful girl and two handsome boys running around them. They were happy and having a great time.
This was the first time she was having a dream that she was part of. She had never done this before except when she was being trained. It felt beautiful that she didn’t want to wake up but she heard her husband calling her.
He needed her and she had to wake up and leave all that happiness behind. Were her babies gone? Was that the reason why she was dreaming about them?
Not wanting it to be true she woke up from the dream and saw tears in her husband’s eyes.
“Neal, what’s wrong?” she asked.
“I’m okay now, you are awake,” he said.
She then noticed that the room was filled with doctors, apparently something must have been happening to her.
“Did I almost die?” she asked.
“You didn’t, you came back to me. That’s what matters,” he said and hugged her.
“I will never leave you. You know that. Where are our babies?” she asked looking around.
‘They are all fine. They will bring them to you now that you are awake.’
“How long have I been unconscious?”
“A week.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.”
“It’s okay baby. You are here and just don’t leave me again,” he said kissing her hands.
“I will never do that,” she promised.
The doctor checked her and diagnosed that she was fine even after what had just happened. After the doctor left the nurses brought her babies to her. They all just looked beautiful.
“There are one girl and two boys,” Neal said and she just smiled.
She had seen it and it felt good. She kissed her babies and looked at them for long.
“They are the most beautiful little creatures I have ever seen.”
“They take after their mother so of course they will be beautiful,” he said kissing her on the mouth.
“I love you, always remember that.”
“I will engrave it deep in my heart.”
The queen arrived when she heard that she was awake and while the queen was busy playing with the boys, Talia picked up the girl and she started giggling while looking at her.
“Did you name them?” she asked Neal.
“No, I haven’t why?”
“Can I name her?”
“Yes you can,” he said holding her.
Talia lifted her baby girl and she began to cry. She wasn’t used to this but she had to be strong. After all she will be inheriting her gift as she grows up.
“I will name you, Vaquesha after your great ancestor. You shall become powerful much more powerful than I your mother will ever be. You shall protect and be the pillar of this kingdom till the day you say your final words,” she said and she heard thunder and lightning outside when there were no clouds.
Vaquesha stopped crying and an eight petal red aster flower appeared on her forehead.
“What is this?” everyone asked.
“Her destiny,” Talia smiled fully knowing that her baby girl’s destiny was just beginning.
Her husband took Vaquesha from her arms and gave her to the queen who was eagerly waiting.
He sat next to her and embraced her tightly.
“Everything will be okay,” he promised her.
“I know it will be. You are here by my side, my love.”
“And so shall I be till the end of time.”
It was not an ending but the beginning of something great and wonderful. And only time will tell and she will be there to witness such greatness that would be coming ahead standing by his side through it all.
THE END.
