CHAPTER 24
“You don’t have to do that.”
“Please mother. She will never do that again. I promise, can I please have a moment with her alone? I will be there with you shortly,” she said and Neal looked at her.
He looked at his mother and she nodded. He kissed Talia on the forehead ad said, “I will wait for you at the door. Don’t wait out in the rain for long.
“I won’t, now go.”
He took his mother out of the garden. While they were standing somewhere dry his mother began to laugh.
“Mother, why are you laughing?”
“I think I now understand what they meant when they said a Seer can do anything to protect what she loves.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“Chloe started a fight but that could have been prevented but Talia wanted her to do that.”
“Why would she risk being slapped like that?”
“To put her in her place; Chloe made a huge mistake by slapping your wife. She could suffer a lot because of it but at the same time Talia showed Chloe what she is capable of.
With just a single tear she made the rain to fall and made Chloe to lose her face. Talia just dealt with your Chloe problem. I doubt she will be a problem again,” his mother said and left him standing there all alone.
He looked at where the two ladies were standing and whatever Talia was telling Chloe, it was really sinking. If what his mother had said was true then he was seeing a new side of his wife and life was about to be interesting. What more tricks would she unveil until his birthday come to an end?

“You see, I warned you that you shouldn’t do that and now see where it got you,” Talia said with a smirk on her face.
“You are very cunning person. How can you trap me like that?”
“You fell for it yourself. You only have yourself to blame and now you just went to the queen and the man you cherish bad side. Next time don’t touch my beads. I will leave you now, I have some make up to put on and my husband is waiting for me,” Talia said and left Chloe who was about to cry.
Who told her to mess up with her and try to run her mouth in front of her? When she left the gazebo, she found Neal looking very distracted.
“What happened to you?” she asked him and he looked at her with one of his questioning looks.
“Was that really necessary?”
“Yes, she slapped me and insulted my calling. She even threw away y beads when I asked her nicely not to. Are you worried about her now? Because if you are you can just go to her,” she said and began to walk away.
She was so angry; how could he be concerned with Chloe when she was his wife?
“Talia, stop!”
“I need to change my clothes. If you are going to talk about your girl then find someone else because I’m not available,” she said still going.
“It’s not about her but where you the one who muted the two duchesses?”
“Yes.”
“Can I ask you why?”
“Instead of looking at me and talk to me directly they chose not to and even whispered nasty things about me and you. I just wanted them to stop talking,” she told him.
“Can you undo it, please,” Neal begged her.
“Fine, I will release them. You can go and check it yourself. I believe they will know what to say in the future. If there is nothing else, I will take my leave,” she said without even looking at him.
If she turned around and sees his face, she was afraid she would end up doing something she would regret. She went to the salon where her clothes were.
She washed her face, put on the new clothes the queen had given her. They looked very beautiful. The inner gown was white and the outer robe sky blue. When the maids came in, they helped her to put on the matching hair pins on her head.
When she was done, she dismissed them and sat in the chair. She was so furious that she felt hungry. Her tummy was making all kinds of sounds and she knew exactly where she should go.
“I guessed you will be hungry by now,” Neal said standing at the door.
She looked at him through the mirror and felt all the anger dissipating. He was holding her favorite dumplings; why would she still remain angry with him?
“Thanks, I’m starving,” she said and swings the chair around and faced him.
“I’m very sorry about earlier. I didn’t mean to upset you especially after what you went through.”
“It’s okay, I can tolerate anything. I’m a strong person.”
“I wish that was true,” he said and feed her one dumpling filled with veggies.
The taste was very familiar with her nanaba’s.
