Chapter twenty-one: Old Man

Chapter twenty-one: Old Man

Jeffrey

I groaned as I felt myself waking up, reaching up to rub the sleep from my eyes. I noticed my left arm was tucked underneath Jessica's sleeping body and I was pretty sure I was losing circulation. I slowly removed my hand and she stirred only the slightest. She was so beautiful and so pure, not even the Disney Princess could compete.

I reached over and brushed the stray hairs from her cheeks, leaning down and pressing a small kiss to her soft skin. I wished she were awake so I could talk to her but I would rather let her sleep since it is not yet ten o'clock.

I grabbed my phone off the nightstand and scrolled through some emails, marking a few as important and deleting the others. I went to my messages and noticed a text from Jorge.

'Gladys stopped by the office after you left, I didn't tell her what you were doing or who you were with.'

I rolled my eyes, that woman will surely drive me to the brink of insanity one day. I was careful not to wake Jessica as I climbed out of the bed and went downstairs to my office. I closed the door and dialed Jorge's number.

"Dude," I heard his raspy voice on the other line.

"Why are you calling so early?"

"I am sorry," I sighed.

"I didn't mean to wake you, I just wanted to know why Gladys came to the office." I heard him shuffle around.

"She stopped by about an hour or so after you were gone. I was staying late to do some work and she waltzed right in. She wasn't too happy when I told her you already left for the day."

"I am surprised she didn't come to my house." I rubbed a hand on my face.

"She has never been this crazy before."

"I don't know man, she might be trying to get back together with you or just simply wanting you to miss her." I rolled my eyes.

"I don't miss anything about her." I paused for a moment, a million things running through my mind.

"Do I go as far as calling security?" He sighed.

"Maybe, I mean, she has only done it about twice or three times now."

"Twice or three times is a lot. If she keeps interrupting my work, I am not going to get the next collection done and it is going to set me back. I am calling the department on monday and tell them that she is not allowed in my office building anymore."

"If that is what you feel needs to be done, then go for it. I will take care of it soon, if she catches Jessica at the office, she might tie things together and who knows what will happen."

If my ex-wife caught Jessica at my office, my career would certainly take a blow. I could probably pass Jessica off as a model since she would mostly like to be doing more work for me in the future but if Gladys found out what was going on between us, she could put my business in a bad situation. Forty year-old businessman with a twenty years old college student. I would hate to see that in a newspaper headline.

I groaned, thanking him for letting me disturb him so early on a weekend. I hung up and went to the kitchen, assuming Jessica was still sleeping. I brewed some coffee, nearly debating on pouring a glass of whiskey instead but I knew it wouldn't be a great idea.

It has been four years since Gladys and I called it quits. Technically about two years we officially got divorce. We never had children, thank goodness. I wanted children but she never did, marrying Gladys was probably the biggest impulse mistake I had ever made.

I flipped through some paperwork as I slipped on my coffee, writing down to-do's on sticky notes for work on monday. I heard the soft thumps of footsteps coming down the stairs and Jessica appeared in the doorway.

"Good morning, Pumpkin." I said with a smirk, my eyes training up and down her sleepy sexy frame. My sweatshirt on her looked adorable and it barely reached the middle of her thighs. She rubbed her eyes lazily, walking over to me and examining my work.

"Morning," she mumbled, her head plopping against my chest.

I kissed the top of her head and all thoughts of Gladys faded away. Jessica is everything to me and I hoped she knew that.

"What are we doing today?"

"Whatever you want, Pumpkin." She looked up at me and I pressed my lips gently against hers.

"We have the entire day together." She smiled.

"Okay, well, let's start with breakfast because I am starving."

"Your wish is my command." I grinned and followed her to the kitchen.

"No,no, I am going to cook for you." She brushed away the hairs that had fallen out of her messy ponytail and into her face, I gave her a look.

"Why don't I just cook, Princess?" I said, really dreading the mess she would make if I let her make breakfast.

"Hush, I am a good cook and I want to treat you. Just sit there and drink your coffee, old man."

"Old man?" I chuckled with wide eyes.

"I am not that old."

"You are older than me." The clanking of pots and pans through the archway instantly made me cringe.

I walked away, letting her be happy and content with making me breakfast. It was wired, having someone else cook for me. I usually do it myself and then, occasional takeout meal. Even Gladys never cooked for me, we had a personal chef and a maid when we lived together. When we separated, the maid and chef moved out.

The smell of egg, bacon and sausage filled my nostril. I walked over to the bar counter and sat down. Seeing her standing at the stove, I could see her underwear poking out from beneath my sweatshirt and I wanted to squeeze her ass in my hands but I kept myself seated. I slipped my coffee and anxiously waited for her to finish.

She started plating the food and I could see her trying to be intricate with how it looked. I laughed and called out to her.

"Are you chopped or something? It doesn't have to look perfect."

"Yes, it does!" She giggled, not turning around to face me. I rolled my eyes dramatically.

"You have thirty seconds."

"This isn't a cooking show." She said as she sprinkled some salt on top of the plate before grabbing them and turning around. She set the food before me and I was actually surprised at how good it looked. A bacon and sausage omelet with red pepper and cheese.

"My mother made this all the time when I was growing up." I took a bite.

"Wow, this is really good, baby." She smiled proudly and sat down next to me, digging into her own food.

This is nice, eating breakfast with my favorite person. Part of me could see myself waking up with her every morning but another part of me was afraid. I hadn't had love since Gladys, I guess I probably wouldn't call that love either. I was afraid that Jorge's claims were right and Jessica only wanted me for money, not me as a person. I didn't know if I would fall in love with her, I had only known the girl for less than a month but I couldn't stand the idea of her with someone that wasn't me. All I wanted was for our feelings to be mutual, I loved being with her but what if she just loved my money instead.

"Jeffrey, are you there?" Her voice broke me out of my trance and I blinked a couple of times apologizing.

"You seemed a little lost, is something wrong?" I looked up to meet her eyes, her gorgeous blue eyes that have been so full of wonderment since I met her at the coffee shop that night. I rolled my lips between my teeth and shook my head with a small grin.

"No, Princess. I am fine." She gave me a look.

"Jeffrey, girls always say that they are fine when they are really not." I chuckled at her after swallowing a bite of my omelet.

"Are you saying I am a girl?" She shook her head with a cheeky smile, biting her tongue between her teeth and making me bounce my leg in anticipation.

I didn't want to bring up the topic but it had to be discussed eventually if we were going to keep this going.

"No, Jeffrey. You just seemed like something was on your mind, you know you can talk to me, right?"

Her words echoed in my head, I had told her the same thing that she could come to me with anything. I sighed, setting down my spoon on the plate with a small clank, rubbing my hands on my thighs.

"I have been thinking about us." She raised her eyebrows slightly, I was hoping she wasn't thinking that I wanted to end our relationship or whatever we were.

"Okay," she muttered.

"I was just thinking about when we are together and we have a little fun." I winked at her, she blushed and I continued.

"And then I buy you a gift as a thank you and then the cycle repeats itself. Kind of like……"

"A sugar daddy?" She finished my sentence, I pressed my lips together, nodding.

She looked down at her plate, her curls falling out from behind her ear. I didn't know how to respond at this point, I was honestly surprised that she addressed it like that.
