Chapter seventy-seven: Rose's Wedding
Chapter seventy-seven: Rose's Wedding
Jessica
As I was unbuttoning his shirt, his eyes were focused on my chest and I had to tap his chin many times to get him to look elsewhere.
He reached up, running his fingers through my hair on each side of my head.
"Sometimes I don't even know how I managed to have you." I stopped my actions and looked at him, my lips parted as I took in his words.
"What do you mean?" He licked his lips and ran his hands down my torso.
"You are so beautiful and nice. I don't know what I did to deserve you but whatever it was, I am glad I did it." I smiled and pressed a kiss on his forehead.
"I am glad you did too."
I got his shirt fully unbuttoned and slipped it off his shoulder and he frowned at me.
"Mummy, I don't feel so good."
I ignored the fact that he called me mummy and immediately dragged him to the bathroom. Not more than three seconds later did he instantly vomit into the toilet.
"Oh, love." I whispered as I knelt down beside him and rubbed his back while he emptied his stomach.
"I should have made you drink more water."
"But I drank enough water." He whined into the toilet bowl.
"You drank maybe two glasses, Jeffrey. Sam had you drinking everything else at the bar but water."
"I think I mixed my drink." He groaned, throwing up one more time.
I rolled my eyes, wishing Sam had at least paid attention to what he was giving Jeffrey throughout the night. Mixing drinks was awful.
"My mother always told me that liquor before beer, you are in the clear but beer before liquor, never sticker."
It wouldn't surprise me if Sam had given Jeffrey a glass of beer in between their vodka shots and whiskey glasses.
"I am sorry, my love." He said as he sat up, grabbing a piece of toilet paper and wiping his mouth.
"I am a mess."
"It is okay, Jeffrey. You are home and you are safe. That is all that matters."
I instructed him to wash his mouth and brush his teeth as I went to get him a bottle of water from the fridge. I helped him back to the bedroom and wiped down his sweaty body, sticking him in some shorts instead and turning on the fan to help him cool down.
"You are so good to me." He drank nearly half the water before trying to set it down.
"No, you need to finish the whole bottle." He groaned and frowned at me.
"Come lay with me."
I smiled and crawled up next to him and he reached over to trace small designs on my cheek. His finger trailed to my lips and then his grin widened.
"These lips have kissed my díck before."
"Oh my goodness." I groaned, cringing at his statement.
"Can we talk about something else please? Or if it is possible go to sleep?"
"But I am not tired," he said, although yawned.
"You just yawned, Jeffrey." I giggled
He placed a hand on my mouth to stop me from speaking and with his eyes closed.
"I was just stretching my mouth. It needs its exercise too."
"Then, why are your eyes closed?"
"I am watching the inside of my eyelids. I don't get to look at them when I blink too fast." I rolled my eyes at his stubbornness.
"Go to sleep."
I reached over and brushed his curls away from his forehead. His eyes still closed, he grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers before kissing the back of my hand.
"I love you a lot," I giggled.
"I love you a lot too."
"Would you marry me someday?"
I parted my lips in shock, knowing I should just take this as drunk thoughts. We had never discussed marriage. Would I like to marry him one day? A hundred times yes but I couldn't take this seriously, considering his state.
"I would love to marry you one day." I said softly.
He flashed a small smile, placing my hand on his chest before putting his own hand on top of it.
"Good because I think you would be the best wife I could ever have."

Days turned into weeks and weeks into months. Jeffrey and I are getting used to each other's schedule but it felt a little weird having him on campus since he hasn't been a college student for some years. But he mostly stayed at our apartment or went to his company to check up on things with Jorge.
Jorge was slowly getting the hint that Janice would flirt with him every time she accompanied me to the office. Jorge was a little thrown off at first but slowly became more fond of her. I could see them dating by the time she was out of college.
I love Jeffrey so much, I loved the fact that he was the first thing I saw when I woke up in the morning and the last thing I saw before I went to sleep. He was so supportive of me and he didn't get angry when I talked to Emmanuel or other male friends because he knew I would be faithful and I would always come right back home to him.
Now that we were so close to my graduation, I was so ready to leave the country with him and fly back to Paris where we could be together forever, until we moved to England, his new company location.
Today is Rose's wedding, every preparation has been made to perfection.
"Here, Rose." I said as I knelt down to help her put her shoes on.
She lifted her wedding dress and I slipped them on as if she were Cinderella. I looked up at her and smiled.
"You look so beautiful."
"Do I?" She turned to face the mirror.
"I haven't seen Sam all morning. What if he didn't like this dress?"
"Calm down, Rose." Angelie said.
"You will be fine and he will love the dress. You know he loves everything you wear." She nodded, running her hands down the rhinestones corset of hwe dress.
"I am getting married today."
"I can't wait to finally say that to myself." Angelie said with her hands on her hips.
I smiled at the two of them, I could only dream of Jeffrey asking me to marry him. It seemed so far-fetched and he is forty-two now. I doubt he would want to go through a second wedding at his age.
"Hey, Jessica. Can you go check to see if the boys are ready?" Angelie asked and I nodded, leaving the girl's dressing room to head out into the hall and see if everyone was at the chapel doors.
Sure enough, I found Sam and Jeffrey at the door with the rest of the groomsmen. Jeffrey's eyes landed on me, his grin from laughing had faded and was replaced with this look of pure admiration. I smiled softly at him as he walked over.
"You look absolutely radiant, Princess." He kissed my cheek.
"Thank you." I blushed and looked down at my off white bridesmaid dress and smoothing out the fabric.
"Are you guys ready?" Sam took a deep breath and stopped bouncing his legs and nodded.
"Yes, let's do this."
I stood next to Jeffrey, my arms entwined with his and my other hand grasping the small white flowers bouquet. I couldn't even believe that Rose chose me to be her Maid of Honor, it felt like we hadn't known each other that long. But the more we hung out and got to know each other, the more we realized how alike we were.
Jeffrey was very nervous, twisting the rings around his fingers as we waited for the chapel doors to open. I looked up at him and smiled.
"I love you." I whispered and his eyes lightened as his grin widened.
"I love you too."
Soon, we started walking down the aisle, all of Rose and Sam's friends including families watching us as we made our way to the altar.
As we stood and waited for Rose, I looked over at Sam who looked as if he may start crying any second now. I looked at Jeffrey whose eyes were locked on mine, we made eye contact and he sent me a wink. He never failed at making me blush, even with the simplest of gestures.
Soon, the door opened and Rose walked down the aisle with her father. Sam instantly wiped away the tears that had begun to fall. I watched Jeffrey pat his back and whispered into his ears, he nodded in agreement to whatever he had said.
They began with the ceremony after Rose's father passed her off to Sam. Soon I am going to have to give my speech and I felt the butterflies rise in my stomach.
I walked up to the podium when it was my turn and I looked over at Jeffrey who gave me a subtle thumbs up.
