Chapter eighty-nine: Wedding Day

Chapter eighty-nine: Wedding Day

Jeffrey

"Wake up, dude." I could hear Sam beside me, I groaned into my pillow, turning my head away from him.

"I need more sleep." I mumbled, pulling the duvet closer to my chin and snuggling under the warm sheets.

"Dude, get up." Jorge chimed in.

"Don't you know what day it is?"

My eyes fluttered open and I smiled as I rolled over to face them.

"I am getting married today." There was raspiness evident in my voice.

"Correct, you are getting married today." Sam muttered.

"Now get your ass out of the bed and put some clothes on. Room service is on the way, don't let them see you with your willy out." I rolled my eyes.

I slipped out of the bed, heading straight for the shower and cleaning myself of yesterday's dirt and grime. I wonder if Jessica is awake now, she was such a late sleeper but knowing her friends, they would want her up as early as possible to get ready even though the wedding wasn't until evening.

After I hopped out of the shower, I dried off and wrapped a towel around my waist, going back into the room and seeing that the room service had arrived.

"Do the girls want room service? I think I will send some up there for them…."

"Don't worry about it, dude." Leonard said to me.

"We sent some room service to them already."

"We used your card though," Sam shrugged sheepishly and I rolled my eyes. Whatever, it is my treat.

After breakfast, Sam said he is going downstairs to the girl's room to check up on them. I was happy that Jessica had asked Amber to be one of her bridesmaids and I was tempted to text her and have her come by our room so she could tell me everything happening with Jessica. What did her dress look like? How was she styling her hair? Was she wearing heels? Are the flowers as perfect as she is?

Sam returned a little less than an hour later and I urged for him to tell me everything about Jessica. He simply laughed and shook his head.

"I can't give away any details, dude." He grinned.

"But she does look beautiful, you are a lucky man, that is for sure."

I could feel the blush appearing on my cheeks. Just thinking about Jessica in her gorgeous dress was driving me insane.

After the photographer arrived, we took some quick photos of us in our wedding attire down in the corridor outside the wedding hall. A few guests arrived early but we still had around a half an hour before the ceremony.

"Jeffrey?" I turned to see Amber standing a little ways down the hall and I walked over to her.

"Hey, sister."

"Come with me." She smiled and took my hand, leading me down the adjacent hallway.

I was so confused because we were supposed to be meeting guests right now but we reached a separate room and she instructed me to stand against the wall by the door.

"Stay here, do not walk through this door, understand?" I nodded.

I was still a little confused but she disappeared through the doorway without another word. I folded my hands in front of me, glancing around the room while I waited for something to happen.

It wasn't long before I heard giggling down the hell and Amber appeared through the doorway again.

"Don't look." She said and motioned for me to give her my hand to which she took and brought it to the doorway.

"Jeffrey?" I heard Jessica's voice and smiled, feeling our hands laced together.

"Hi, my love." I said, desperately wanting to see her face but I knew that she would kill me if I peeked.

The photographer snapped a few photos of us with our hands intertwined.

"I can't wait to see you." She said softly, giving my hand a small squeeze.

"I can't wait to see you too. Not too long now, my love."

"I am so nervous, I have got a lot of butterflies in my stomach."

"Well, I have got an actual butterfly on my stomach too." I responded and she giggled.

"Oh, shut up, Jeffrey." I grinned wide and leaned over just enough to press a kiss to her knuckles but not enough to catch a glimpse of her.

"Come on, Jessica." I heard Angelie say from the other side of the wall.

"We have got to go soon."

"I will meet you at the altar, my love." I gave her hand one more gentle squeeze.

"I love you so much."

"I love you, Jeffrey."

I could tell that she didn't want to let go of my hand because she slowly let my fingers fall from hers.

Amber smiled at me before they went back down the opposite hall and I took in a deep breath before heading back towards the main corridor.

"Dude, where have you been?" Leonard asked once I had reached the main corridor.

"Amber was able to let me talk to Jessica." I said, feeling a little more relaxed now that I had spoken to her.

"You didn't see her, did you?" I shook my head.

"No, we stood on opposite sides of a wall."

"Good, good. It is bad luck to see the bride before the altar, you know that, right?" I rolled my eyes.

"So I have been told."

****************

This is it, this is the moment I had been waiting for. As I stood at the altar, Leonard directly behind me, my parents seated in front of me and my emotions all over the place. I am finally marrying the love of my life.

Just behind the closed doors, she stood in her beautiful wedding dress, waiting to be presented to our friends and family.

I managed to stop bouncing my legs long enough to smile as Delanie waddled down the aisle after the bridesmaid with her tiny basket of flower petals that she was supposed to throw but she merely held on to as she went straight to Jessica's mother.

Dylan soon followed, a small pillow in his hand that was supposed to carry the ring but we knew he would drop them so we stuck them in his pocket. He walked directly to me, like he was supposed to and I smiled as I kneeled down, taking the rings out of his pocket and kissing his forehead before having him wander over to my mother.

I handed Leonard the ring just as the music began playing and my heart rate increased tremendously.

I bit my lips as the door opened, my gorgeous bride emerging from the hallway and slowly walking down the aisle. Her dress hugged the curves of her chest beautifully and I loved the way the dress flared out at her waist. She truly looked like a proper queen.

As she reached the end, I moved to stand next to her as we turned to face the Priests. During the ceremony, I couldn't help but sneak a peek at her every few seconds. She was truly marvelous and I couldn't even wrap my head around the fact that I am marrying this woman today.

She gave me the children I always wanted, the friendship I needed and the best love I could have ever dreamed of.

During the vows and Janice's maid of honor speech, I couldn't help but sit with Jessica's hand with mine while they rested on my thigh. Her hair was left natura, pulled back into a loose updo with a few strands framing her face. Even though she wore a beautiful white veil over her face, I could still see every detail of her stunning features.

"Jeffrey?" She whispered with a small giggle.

"Pay attention." I smirked and squeezed her hand.

"How am I supposed to pay attention when I am sitting next to the most stunning woman I have ever seen in my entire life? And she is marrying me, do you really expect me to pay attention to Janice instead of you right now?" She blushed and shook her head, looking down at her lap.

"I love you."

"I love you more." I whispered.

Janice had finished her speech and now it is time for the vows. We had decided it would be really beautiful to write our own vows instead of saying the traditional ones. I went first and my hands were shaking the entire time I spoke

"Jessica?" I smiled, looking at her teary eyes.

"I love you unconditionally and I promise to love you, cherish you, support you, encourage you and respect you for the rest of my life. I vow to always make you laugh and pick you up when you are down. Together we will foster a strong relationship that we know will build us a life better than we could have imagined alone. I vow to always love and care for our adorable children and take responsibility when needed. I will care for you, provide for you and share with you all of life's advertisements and its joys from this day forward and all the days of my life."

She wiped away a couple tears left on her cheeks and chin before unfolding her speech, her hands shaking as well.
