Chapter twenty-nine: I Miss You
Chapter twenty-nine: I Miss You
Jessica
My head was pounding when I woke the next morning, instantly shutting my eyes after opening them and almost being blinded by the sunlight. I rolled over to face away from the window and noticed that the bed sheets were most definitely not mine and the clothes I was wearing weren't mine either.
I carefully looked around in a split moment of panic and then realized that it was Jeffrey's clothes and his bed, yet he wasn't beside me.
The memories of what happened in my room last night came flooding in my head. Steven harassing me sexually and Jeffrey coming to my rescue and discovering that both of them were actually related. But it wasn't anyone's fault either, right? I didn't know that Jeffrey was Steven's uncle. I am sure that he didn't know that the guy Olivia was trying too hard to get us together with his own very nephew.
I slipped out of the bed and padded my way to the stairs, looking over the landing and seeing Jeffrey fast asleep on the couch, wrapped in a blanket and his head on one of the pillows from his bed.
I felt bad, realizing that he had actually slept on the couch because he knew that we were in a bit of a falling out and sleeping in the same bed probably wasn't best.
I silently descended the stairs, going into the bathroom to get some medicine and a glass of water. I was craving any sort of food but he only has healthy cereals and breakfast foods so I settled for some weird healthy cereals concoction. I noticed Jeffrey stir on the couch, his head lifting up and he groggily looked over at me, rubbing his eyes and standing from the couch.
"Hey, how are you feeling?" His raspy morning voice was like music to my ears.
He placed his large hands on the counter, his rings still decorating his long fingers and only tempting my desire the more he stood there.
"I…I am fine."
His facial expressions were a mixture between apologetic and wanting. He pressed his lips and leaned his elbow down on the counter, looking at me with his stupidly adorable purple eyes.
"I am sorry, Jessica." His voice is low and gravelly.
"I am really sorry, I would never do something so low to hurt you. I care about you too much and I don't want to let go. Please believe me, I don't want to be without you."
"Jeffrey, I…um, I just want to say that I am the one who should be sorry. I didn't let you explain yourself and I jumped into conclusion. The worst of it all, I dragged you in the mess with your nephew Steven. I felt so insecure because I couldn't believe that a man like you would choose me over someone so much more beautiful and…."
"No, Jessica." His voice caught me off guard.
"She doesn't even compare to you, she is not worthy. I don't even want to talk about her anymore." He walked around the bar counter to me, taking my hand in his intertwining our fingers.
"You are mine and on one else. You are the most important thing in my life, understand? Again it is not your fault with Steven's issues, I didn't even know that he studies in that university. Please don't let it affect us, I really do care about you and I am willing to protect you with my life. I nodded.
"I will deal with Steven's issues later."
"But I am scared, I don't want to be the reason your family will tear apart."
"Nothing of the sort is going to happen, I can assure you that."
He leaned down to place a gentle kiss on my forehead, I pouted to give him the hint and he smirked, leaning back down to kiss my lips. As he began sucking on my bottom lip, I relished in the feeling of his touch again. He placed his hands on either side of my face, holding me still as his mouth attacked mine.
"Goodness," he huffed as he pulled away.
"I have missed this more than you can imagine."
He made me stay in his house for the rest of the day because he was worried that Steven might show you again and try to hurt me. I didn't fight him on that because I actually really want to spend more quality time with him.
I sat on the couch while he cooked lunch, still wearing his clothes. I decided to keep him company in the kitchen.
"Didn't you put pants on?" He asked me to walk into the kitchen to check on the food.
I smiled and pulled his shirt up, revealing my white cotton undies. He leaned down to get a quick glimpse at my chest and I hastily pulled my shirt down.
"Hey! Eyes on the food."
"Well, how am I supposed to focus on food when you are not wearing any pants or bra?" He smirked, tossing the vegetable around in the skillet.
"Just don't look." I laughed and he shook his head with an eye roll.
"It is not that simple, Princess." I grabbed a spoon to taste the food.
"It could use some salt." He laughed.
"I haven't even added the chicken yet, calm down and I will add salt after."
"And pepper." He rolled his eyes and repeated it again.
"What did I say about rolling your eyes at me?" I stood behind him, wrapping my arms around his waist and letting my hand slide under the hem of his shirt. My fingers traced imaginary designs on his skin and I could hear his heart rate picking up.
"If I can't roll my eyes at you." My fingers slipping beneath the waistband of his trousers and his boxers, feeling the little hairs on his faint happy trail brush my skin.
"Then, you can't roll your eyes at me." He let out a quiet moan as I let my fingers graze the beginning of his shaft.
"Can you at least wait until I am done cooking?" I could tell that he was struggling to stay firm with his voice.
"Fine," I pulled my hands slowly from his pants and kissed his clothed shoulder blade.
"I can wait, the question is…can you wait?"
After lunch, we spend the whole afternoon, ravishing in each other's bodies. Like always he made me feel like I was floating on cloud nine. I enjoyed every bit of the time I spent with him.
I returned back to my hostel later in the evening but was worried about Steven. Although Jeffrey has told me that he would handle everything, I was still scared. I just want to be happy with Jeffrey, he is the only man I wanted to be with.
