Chapter thirty-eight: Lunch With Family
Chapter thirty-eight: Lunch With Family
Jessica
When I arrived at my village, Amaife. All the memories of high school and my childhood came flooding back. I drove past my school, my old friend's house and finally arrived at my own house. My mother didn't hesitate to rush out and greet me, engulfing me in a hug.
"Oh, how I have missed you." She squeezed me tight.
"How was the drive? How is school?"
"It was fine, mother." I smiled, holding onto her until she was ready to let me go. But she wasn't ready to let go of me.
"Come on, mother. It is cold outside, let us go inside." She broke the hug and we took my stuff inside the house.
"When is Jeffrey going to be here?" I could tell that she has been aching to get the questions out.
"He will be here on Sunday."
"He will be coming for lunch, right?" I nodded.
"Yes, he will have lunch with us on Sunday."
"And where does he live?"
Her questions never ends, I sighed and sat myself down at the bar counter. I knew this interrogation was going to last all day, probably even until Jeffrey comes on Sunday and then she will continue with questions for him.
"He lives in an apartment downtown Katagum."
"An apartment? That is it?" She asked with raised eyebrows.
"I thought that a man as successful as his would be living in a big mansion."
"Well, it is a penthouse, mother."
"Okay, that sounds right. You haven't told me you love him yet, have you?"
"Mother!" I rolled my eyes, facepalming. It was a thing I had with her when discussing boys and relationships.
"Just making sure,"
"We haven't gone that far, I am a little hesitant."
"What makes you say that?" I shrugged.
"I don't know, I think the age gasp feels a little weird."
"Well, he is over twenty years older than you and he is a businessman while you are still in college. Obviously that will be a little weird." I squirmed in my seat, looking down at the countertop and messing with the bracelet on my wrist.
"Are you okay with that?" I asked.
No matter what, my mother wasn't ever okay with me dating, especially when she had never met the man I was seeing. She sighed and leaned against the counter.
"I mean… all I want is for you to be happy. He is successful and he isn't ninety or anything so I will get over it."
I breathed out of a small sigh of relief, as long as she wasn't overly upset with me, I am okay with that. Even though I am old enough to make my own decisions and I shouldn't let her interfere with my relationship, her approval was still really important to me.
It was already night, so I picked up my phone to text Jeffrey. I climbed on my bed ready to sleep until noon the next day.
'Jeffery, I am going to bed now. I really appreciate the gift you left at my door.'
He was too quick to respond and I could feel his smirk through his message.
'I will be very disappointed if you don't use them. Sweet dreams baby girl, I will talk to you in the morning.'
I sighed and set my phone on my headboard, closing my eyes and falling asleep instantly.
When I woke up in the morning, I took a few seconds to register that I am back home. The smell of bacon and sausage wafted through the house, making it impossible to stay in bed.
I went downstairs, my mother in the kitchen with her adorable apron wrapped around her waist and a spatula in hand as she slipped over the sausages.
"Good morning," she glanced over her shoulder at me.
"Hope you slept well?"
"Yes, I did." I walked over to the coffee machine to make myself a cup of coffee.
I loved mornings like this and being away from college sucked when it had always been just me and my mother at home. I am an only child, so I was really hesitant about going off to college and leaving my mother behind but she had Coco, our dog and I am here now to keep her company until the holidays are over.
"I forgot to talk to you about this yesterday." She began, tossing on the sausage.
She turned to the bar counter and shuffled through some magazines and newspapers before pulling out the magazine that I was featured on the cover of. With raised eyebrows, she tossed it in front of me.
"Care to explain?" I shrugged as I poured some creamer into a mug and stirred it with a spoon.
"It was just something Jeffrey suggested. I thought it would be a fun experience."
"Never in a million years would I think that my daughter would end up with a modeling job."
"It is not a career, mother." I shook my head.
"I don't want to just be a model, I want to do more than just have my picture taken."
"Whatever you say."
The day dragged on with my mother going to the market and leaving me all alone in the house. I thought about video chatting with Jeffrey because I missed his face and his voice but I figured I could wait till Sunday to see him.
'l miss you.' I texted.
He didn't respond, so I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. The streets were quiet, I let out a heavy sigh, my breath fogging as if I were a dragon. I always used to do that in the wintertime with my friends, we would stand outside and just breathe heavily like we were fire-breathing monsters. My phone buzzed and Jeffrey's name was on the screen.
"Hello, Jeffrey?" I said as I picked up the call.
"Hi, Princess." I could feel my cheeks reddening and not from the cold wind.
"How is Katagum?"
"It is cold and dreary without you here. I can't wait to see, should I bring anything?"
"What? Like food?" I asked.
"I don't know, my mother usually makes the best food. Just bring yourself and an empty stomach." I added.
"Well, I can't just show up empty handed as well."
"As long as you don't show up with something made from rice cake, I think anything would suffice."
"Continue making fun of me and my rice cakes."
"What will you do? Will you punish me, Daddy?"
"It is like you are asking for it." His voice was low in his throat.
"Don't tempt me, baby girl. You know what I can do and will do to you."
"Yes, I know and that is why it is so exciting to tease you." I heard him take a deep breath.
"I am going to hang up if you keep talking to me like this, otherwise I am going to have a major problem with my trousers."
"I wish I could be there to fix that for you."
"Goodness, Jessica." I could hear a small grunt from him.
"I have to go now but I will talk to you later, okay?" I giggled.
"Fine, bye, Jeffrey."
"Bye, Princess."
I hung up and headed back to the house, feeling extra giddy for making Jeffrey horny. It felt weird at times when I knew I had some sort of control over him but I knew he had way more power over me than I have over him.

It was already Sunday, I am super excited that I am going to see Jeffrey today. My mother invited her sister for lunch with Jeffrey, I couldn't understand why she did that but I am not bothered though, I was eager to see Jeffrey.
"I smell some good chicken in here." I heard my aunt's voice from the foyer and I turned to see her smiling face with her husband behind her.
"Hi, aunt." I hugged her before I took her bag from her hand.
"How was the drive?"
"Not good, not bad. Although it is a lot warmer in our city than here." I mentally rolled my eyes.
"I am so sorry about that, please have a seat."
Just as I was about to take my own seat, I heard the doorbell ring.
"I will get it," l told my mother, waving for her to go back to the kitchen.
I opened the door to see Jeffrey, dressed in blue jeans and a gray button up shirt. A bottle of wine in one of his hands and some flowers in the other.
"Hi," I said.
"Hi, Princess." He smiled and I ushered for him to come inside.
"Jeffrey?" My mother said, walked over to us after I took the wine from his hand.
As she shook his massive hand with a smile, I read the label on the wine and almost had a coronary. He had bought a wine worth a thousand dollars.
"It is so lovely to finally meet you."
"Please, Mrs. Silver, the pleasure is all mine." He gave my mother the flowers and her lips parted in amazement.
"They are beautiful, thank you. Please, make yourself at home." He nodded and looked at me, I raised my eyebrows.
"Wine from England, really?"
"I wanted to make a good first impression. Besides that is one of the fanciest red wines you can get."
I rolled my eyes and looked over at my mother as she put the flowers in a vase and placed them in the middle of the bar counter.
"Well, you have won over her so far." He shrugged with a smirk.
"What can I say? I have been told that I am quite a charmer. Also I am very sorry for coming a little bit late, the traffic was dreadful on the way here."
"Sorry," l frowned.
"Did your family arrive already?" He nodded and I noticed his eyes literally glow as he spoke of his family.
"Yes, they have arrived and they can't wait to meet you."
"I am excited to meet them as well, a little nervous though. I am still cringing at the fact that I thought Amber was your girlfriend when I first met you." He chuckled and tucked my hair behind my ear.
"I told her that story and she got a good laugh out of it as well." I rolled my eyes at him and playfully smacked his arm.
"Whatever, come on, let's go talk to my family so they can make fun of you and I can have a break from it."
We walked to the dining room where the foods had been set.
