Chapter 15



Vanessa was checking some files when Maria barged into the office like a wild cat, she made Vanessa scared.


"How may I help you?" Vanessa asked.


Maria laughed.


"You think you have something that you can give me? To me, you are just garbage, a black Monkey, you think you will come to this place and everything will work perfectly for you huh, I'm gonna make sure Ronaldo kicks you out of this place and his life forever, you don't know who you are dealing with, illiterate." Maria ranted.


"Have I done something to you? Why are you so mad at me? I didn't even know you." Vanessa said.


"For coming into Ronaldo's life, you have done more than enough crimes for me already, you don't belong here, you will go back to your country where Monkeys like you belongs, and yes, if you don't stay away from Ronaldo, your days will soon be numbered, I'm more dangerous than Africans local Mafia's, I can kill you with just a snap of finger, I rule here, I rule Ronaldo, if you want to be alive, then stay away from everything that belongs to me." Maria warned and left the office hitting the door hard.


Maria's words really hit Vanessa and it hurt her so badly.


She sat on her chair and cried.


"I knew nothing will work here for me, Ronaldo might promise to protect me, but this girl looks more dangerous than those ruthless murderers from Mozambique, I came here because of my safety and I'm still not safe, why is my life against me." She soliloquies and cried.


Minutes later.


A lady entered the office after knocking.


Vanessa quickly wiped her tears.


"I guess, Maria came to you right?" The lady asked.


Vanessa didn't reply; she isn't in for any more dramas.


"Well, I'm Sarah, I work here too, and I know Maria came to you that's why you are crying, we all knew that she will try and do something nasty to you because she is so selfish and wants everything go in her way, especially Mr Ronaldo, he used to be really nice to her before he left to Mozambique for his father's funeral, so she claimed him to be hers, a lot of girls left this place because of her evilness, but don't let her threat get into you, she can't hurt you, especially now that Mr Ronaldo knows you." Sarah said.


Vanessa sniffed.


"I'm really scared, she promised to throw me back to my country, she said that she will throw me back to my country where Monkeys like me belongs, that shit hurts me a lot, she could have say anything but not this, that was so rude of her." Vanessa said.


"It's against the law of this company to be a racists, but Maria is against every law, she practically did whatever she wants, she think she owns everyone, if you show her that you are scared of her then she will haunt you, but try to be brave even if you can't fight her, trust me, she will allow you to live in peace." Sarah said.


"Thank you, this make me feel better, I'm Vanessa." Vanessa said.


"Nice to meet you Vanessa, apart from being pretty, your name is nice too, we can be friends." Sarah replied.


"Sure we can." Vanessa said with a smile.


"Anyways, Mr Ronaldo said I should tell you to meet him at the company's cafeteria by 2:00, he will be waiting for you, it's not hard for you to locate." Sarah said.


"Alright thanks, see you some other time."


Vanessa said and waved her bye.


She inhaled deeply.


"I don't think I can do this, I will tell Ronaldo everything and quit the job." Vanessa murmured to herself and continue working.



**Ronaldo's office**

2:00

Ronaldo was preparing to meet Vanessa at the cafeteria when Maria entered.


"What do you want Maria?" He asked calmly.


"Have you forgotten, I'm here so we could go to the cafeteria together, as usual?" Maria replied.


"Oh, that's right but I'm sorry, I'm gonna have lunch with Vanessa." Ronaldo said.


"What! Just day one and you are already choosing her over me." Maria yelled.


"Maria, look, Vanessa is new here and I'm the only one she knows, she can only be comfortable with me and also she will feel bad if I leave her alone, and besides you are just my friend and co worker." Ronaldo replied.


"This is so unbelievable; you are choosing that black...."


"Cut it Maria, don't forget the company rules and if you choose to ignore it then you can get punished for that, excuse me now." Ronaldo said and shoved her off his way and walked out of the office.


Maria banged he hands on the table angrily.


"You will regret ever coming to this place witch!" Maria yelled.



**At the cafeteria**


Vanessa sat alone staring at the place searching for Ronaldo.


"Why isn't he here yet? I'm so scared already." She thought.


"Sorry, I came late." Ronaldo said immediately and pulls a seat next to her.


She frowns.


"I'm not gonna talk to you, you added ten more minutes knowing well that I don't know anyone here." Vanessa said not smiling.


"I'm so sorry Vanessa, it wasn't on purpose, something happened and it's wasted my time, you know I don't want you frowning." Ronaldo said but she didn't smile.


"Please, just smile, I'm sorry." Ronaldo pleaded folding his hands and Maria was seeing everything from the other table.


"Aww, look at Mr Ronaldo and the new girl, they looked like perfect couples." The colleagues from the other table said.


Maria heard them and she walked to their table, she picked up an orange juice and pours it on them.


"Mind your business next time, they are not perfect couples, Ronaldo is mine." Maria said and they angrily left the table.


"That's what I thought." She said to them and returned to her table thinking of a way to eliminate Vanessa out of her way just like she did to the other girls.


Everyone that tried to get closer to Ronaldo will get closer to his grave.

Ronaldo's table.


"Fine, I will forgive you." Vanessa said.


"Thanks Vanessa." He beamed excitedly.


"So, how was your first day, everyone seems nice to you." Ronaldo asked.


"Yes, but not all." Vanessa answered.


"Any exception?" He asked.


"Yes Maria, she doesn't want me here, she promised to throw me back to my country where Monkeys like us belongs."


Vanessa said.


"Is that what she told you? That girl has crossed all her limits." Ronaldo said angrily and stood up and walked to Maria's table.


"You are here Ronaldo I...."


"Will you shut the fuck up? How many times do I have to warn you about Racism, I can tolerate those that you did in the past but not anymore, I can't watch and stand you humiliating and insulting Vanessa, she is so much special to me more than anyone right now, you are just a co worker, so stay in your line if you don't want anything to go wrong, and you will be punish for going against the company's rules." Ronaldo yelled getting everyone's attention, and for the first time, everyone in the company is satisfied because Ronaldo showed her, her limits.


"You will have to work on 100 files and report them to me first thing tomorrow morning; else you will face the consequences." Ronaldo ordered.


"You have embarrassed me in front of everyone and this local low life girl right; I will prove it to you and everyone in this company that this girl is a fraud and a hypocrite." Maria said before leaving the cafeteria.


Ronaldo returned to their table.


"You shouldn't have done that to her, she will hate me even more." Vanessa said.


"Let her hate you, her loving you won't add anything to you, you know why? Because she is such a bully and you don't need bullies as your friends." Ronaldo replied.


"Alright, but please can I quit working here, I don't want my life to be in danger anymore, I'm scared she will do something to me." Vanessa said.


"Nothing of such will happen Vanessa, you are not scared of her, you escaped uncountable attacks and threat messages and now also, you Will escape this, just show her that you aren't scared of her and she will get to her right senses, working here, you just started it and you won't quit till Everything return back to normal in Mozambique, then you will return to your family." Ronaldo replied.


"Okay." Vanessa said.


"Thanks for standing up for me." Vanessa added.


"Don't forget my promise, I had promised to protect you and always be by your side and that's what I'm doing, you can thank me after fulfilling that promise." Ronaldo said.


She smiles at him and they continue eating. After which they returned to their offices.



**Mozambique**

Diego and Fredrick's relationship has become weak since the last time Diego blamed Ronaldo for the witness disappearance, Fredrick can tolerate anything but not blaming something on his brother, something he knew nothing about.


Their hard drugs and weapons business were selling out good and they are making huge profit, while still maintaining the most feared and great Mafia of their castles.


Diego never gave up that Ronaldo has nothing to do with Vanessa's disappearance so he continues searching for her through his secret spies and computer wizard.


He is ready to eliminate anything that will become an obstacle to him, even if it's means eliminating Ronaldo if he finds out he was hiding Vanessa.


His computer wizard called him with developing news and he wasted no time, he arrived.


"So have you found her location or that of Ronaldo?" Diego asked.


"The girl, not yet, but Ronaldo didn't lied to you, he is in London right now at his Mansion, to make everything easier, we can track her using his address, and if lives alone, then it will show one person in the location track, and if it's shows two persons, that means the girl is with him."


The computer wizard said.


"That's excellent, what are we waiting for them, let's do it immediately." Diego said.


He turned on his computer and wrote Ronaldo's house address and the tracker started searching.


And to Diego's Surprise, the signal location track only shows one dot which means he is staying alone.


"Are you sure this is correct, this is useless, I'm sure he is keeping her." Diego spat.


"He is alone at his house, because no matter where he hides her, it will have showed in the signals location track, I think I'm done working here since we are not getting any improvement." The computer wizard said.


"Sure you are done." Diego replied and brought out his gun.


"No, no, please don't kill me." He pleaded.


"You are useless and you don't deserve to live, you are old enough to be in your grave but your selfishness didn't let you, now I'm gonna help you do that." Diego said and hooks the gun.


"No please, I will do anything; I will make sure I find her, without collecting any penny from you." The computer wizard pleaded.


"That's not the problem, the reason why I was searching for the witness all this while was because I don't want her to expose my secret, but now you also know something about finding the witness, so leaving you alive will be a threat to me, and Diego doesn't need any obstacle." Diego said and upon all the old man pleading.


Diego shoots him on his chest and on his forehead.


"Take him away from here and bury him, make sure nobody find out." Already ordered.


"Yes boss." They replied and dragged him out and dig a while and dump him there.


"For me to remain powerful I can do anything and I will kill anyone that wants to become an obstacle for me from finding that girl." Diego soliloquies.
