Chapter 77



Arriving there ,she saw no one and the place was eerily dark...

"Old Lan!"she called out as she looked around the room. She had a mixed feeling in her heart!.

She could feel the presence of people watching her discreetly and that was when she understood she was in great danger!

Soon,, five men came running toward her and they grabbed her~
"Who are you?! don't touch me! you assholes!" She shouted as she fought back the men!

They kept on dragging her toward a black van and she kept resisting
"Leave me,who are you?!"she said panicking.

Someone hit her head with a club and she lost consciousness
"Leave me...."she said as she slowly lost consciousness.

Sapphire woke up in a dark room and she struggled to regain her vision as her sight was blurry
"Where am I?"she struggled to say..

"Welcome Miss sapphire" A strange masculine voice suddenly rang in her ears and she looked toward the direction of the voice but she could see no one.

" Its such a pleasant surprise to see you!" The man exclaimed as if he was shocked " The brave woman who dared compete for the conglomerate with Mr Rowan.. It takes a lot of courage to do that"he added with a calm voice and chuckled.

"Who are you?!" Sapphire asked with gritted teeth, straining her eyes so she could see him because he was standing in the shadows..

"I am your greatest nightmare" The voice replied in a very scary tone but Sapphire wasn't at all moved.

"Why have you brought me here and what do you want from me? " she asked with a raised brow.

"What I want from you? You will know it very soon" he said and left,leaving her alone in the room.

Sapphire smiles inwardly
"Such a cool jerk!" she muttered out, enjoying the whole ordeal and a wicked smirk appeared on her pretty face.

Back home, Sapphire had gone missing for a while now and this worried her Personal assistant who suspected her competitor Mr Rowan could have kidnapped her..

He quickly made a call to the police station and informed them of Sapphire's disappearance and his suspicions.

The police gathered themselves and followed Lewis to investigate Mr Rowan.

"Hi sir, we are from the police department,we were told you might have some information about Miss sapphire's disappearance." One 9f the police officers said to Rowan, showing his Identification card..

"I'm Mr Rowan but I don't think I have any information about the missing person" Rowan replied after a long silence. He looked somehow confused and a hint of fear rushed into his serious gaze but he was quick to make it disappear and his aloof face appeared once more.

"Wait Mr Rowan? like the influential CEO? " Another policeman, who had recognized Rowan too late said out in amazement.

"Yes I am" Rowan replied with his voice full of ice.

The police men all looked at each other and fear appeared on their faces. "Well... You don't need to worry about it, since you have no information about her."They said and hurriedly left leaving Lewis behind but not before giving him a hard glare!.

They did not want to mess with Mr Rowan because it will cost them their jobs if not their lives and they were not ready to lose any!. Besides, Rowan had a clean record that the whole world might criticize the police if they were to hear that they suspect him.

"I still don't believe you're innocent and I will make sure to get all the evidences to prove you guilty!" Lewis said with so much confidence that one would think he was threatening Rowan.

Rowan raised a brow ... "Is that a threat?" He asked with a smirk on his handsome face.

"Take that as whatever you want!"he said and turned to leave.

Ray's face immediately turned gloomy and his hands twitched. "Should I teach him some lesson?" Ray asked as he was already about to throw some punches at Lewis but Rowan was faster enough to stop the push before it landed on Lewis. A punch from Ray might have Lewis killed and Rowan didn't want that.

Ray had been standing beside Rowan through the whole conversation and he couldn't watch someone as low as Lewis insult his boss!.

"Leave Me!" Ray shouted with a stern look but Rowan shook his head, giving him a signal which he took instantly and dropped his hand while Lewis quickly rushed away from the room with his neck stuck into his body in fear!.

"So, Miss sapphire is out of the way now? This means, you can get the position since she's out of the way now and that's all you ever wanted. Isn't that so?." Ray asked with excitement in his voice. He was glad that Sapphire was out of the way and the only one they had to fight was the hidden coward! But he was wrong...

"Send our men to find her" Rowan suddenly blurted in a calm voice.

"What?" Ray was shocked to hear that and he couldn't help but exclaim with eyes wide opened.

"Are you sure you want to do this?? She's finally out of the way and you should be happy for that! What use would it be if you help her out again?" Ray asked, not understanding why his friend was doing this. It felt strange to him.

"Do I have to repeat myself? She had helped me once and I'm only returning the favor and moreso, who knows if the jerk captured her because of what I did?" Rowan asked with a very cold face and Ray sighed.

" Okay sir, I will get to it right away " Ray replied professionally and made to leave. He didn't understand his friend's thought.

"Any news on the imposter?" Rowan asked while playing with this hands and before Ray could leave the room.

"No sir!" Ray replied without looking back and finally left the room.

"What could have happened to Sapphire?" Rowan muttered worriedly with his head aching badly.
He stood up and walked to his window and he stared out looking at the beautiful garden but his mind was in chaos.

"Am I doing the right thing?I've always wanted her out of the way so I can take what I deserve but now that she's gone, why do I feel worried? Why am I desperate to know if she's alright?"he asked, placing his hand on his temple as he thought deeply.

For some particular reasons, he was really worried about her well-being and wanted her safe. His blood boiled at the thought that she might get hurt and he wanted to rush there and rescue her immediately but it was too bad that he didn't know where she was hidden yet.

Later on, Ray came in with a letter in hand...
"Sir, someone dropped this off at the door"he said ,handling over the envelope to Rowan with a very serious expression. He had a feeling the letter was from the coward jerk and he was troubled as to what was happening.

"From who?" Rowan asked as he collected the letter from Ray.

"I don't know sir" Ray replied standing firmly. " But I think it is from the jerk." He added.

Rowan turned to him and furrowed his brow. "Okay then, you may leave I'll go through the content of the letter" He muttered as he crashed on the couch..

"Okay sir"Ray replied and left the room.

Rowan stared at the letter for a while before he picked it and decided to read it.
