Chapter 72



"That was really close"he mumbled as cold sweat ozzed from his forehead. He was really shaken.
" What the hell did he think he is doing? Why is he pushing me so hard? "he said in anger and frustration.
After calming down, he came down from the car and he saw the man who aimed the gun at him..
" I'm not going to ask who sent you because you will never tell me and I know that quite well." He said to the man and sized him up with his eyes before he looked at Ray .
"Take him away" he told Ray. " You know what to do right?" He asked.
" Of Course, sir" Ray replied as they took the man away.

Rowan got back into the car and his driver drove him home immediately. The drive home was quiet as he was busy thinking about what step he was supposed to take.

Rowan got down from the car and stared at his house for a long while. His house was the safest place there is but he could not stay home all day because he was scared of his life, could he?
" Well... there is no crime in increasing my security. " he mumbled to himself and walked toward the head agents.
"Double the security"he said authoritatively and walked in ...
"Yes sir"they said uniformly.

" I need to make him show himself to me. I can't be fighting someone that his hiding behind a shadow. Can i?" He asked himself as he entered his room and relaxed in his bed!.

Ray came running into the room. He had received a call immediately he entered the compound behind Rowan and he was shocked at what he heard.
" Sir, the man escaped and ran into a running vehicle"he said, looking embarrassed and disappointed at himself.
Rowan opened his eyes and stared into space for a while before he nodded " I knew that would happen. I knew he would kill himself and that was why I didn't bother myself to ask him who sent him.
Its okay that way but I'm just disappointed that you guys were not able to get anything from him which could at least give us a head up or any clue about what exactly is going on." Rowan replied calmly and closed his eyes again. He was no longer interested in something that wasn't of any benefit for him.

She had been so bothered these days because of Rowan and also the dead threat she got few days ago and she also found out that Rowan was also threatened. She realized that who ever was threatening them must be someone difficult and brave to be able to go against a whole man like Rowan.
She got terrified when she heard that Rowan was almost killed right in front of the meeting room and that was when she knew the matter was no small matter and should be taken seriously. So, she had forgotten to ask or try to learn the names of the men that came for her interview!.

"Thanks for the compliment." The man replied, arranging his files. He was ready to leave as the time for the interview was over.

"You seem good, confidential enough and reliable. But whats your name?" she stylishly asked as she stood up from her sit and rounded up her files.
She had an appointment with the secretary of the board but she also didn't want the man to see her as an incompetent boss who doesn't know her interviewees name even after interviewing them for so long!.

"Thank you for everything,I will not disappoint you." The man replied and stood up. " My name is Lewis and I look forward to working with you" the man added with a bright smile.

"Okay, you can resume training tomorrow"she said and walked out of the office.

She drove off to the conference room to have a meeting with the secretary of the board.

If Rowan was going to play it dirty, she could be worse. Rowan was getting too friendly with the board members which was quite bad and she knew where he was driving at. She knew what he was planning but where she was wrong was that Rowan never did anything for the board members in secret nor did he ever call them before. He didn't even have their contacts at all! But anyone seeing the way the board members liked him could have thought he was bribing them or playing too friendly with them but the truth remain that he was only smiling to them in the meeting room and not outside at all!. The only time Rowan visited Mr Kang was when he heard that Sapphire was going to visit him and he wanted to frustrate her.


The meeting was for her to declare her manifesto to the secretary because the last conference ended up in an argument between her and Rowan. She was going to win their heart the right way and she wasn't going to hesitate to kick Rowan's butt. She was going to hit him in the back and make him regret ever looking down on her!.

Rowan was in his study, talking to Ray with a serious expression on his incomparable handsome face...
"Any important news about the silly jerk? I really can't wait to see his face so that I can kick his ugly butt, you know?" He muttered and winked at Ray which caused Ray to chuckle a little. Working for Rowan was so fun for him even when others complained that he was too cold.

"Sir, we haven't gotten any valid news here,the minute we have a step ahead something always come in our way. I think the man is more difficult than we think. But it only makes the game more intriguing ~" Ray replied and cocked his head to the side as if he was day dreaming about how sweet the upcoming fight was going to be.

"Really? I knew he was a really big jerk since when those men kept killing themselves and it was annoyingly silly. I can't wait to see how bold and more childish he would act in the future.. But one fact remains that we should be really careful. Not just me but all of us, every single one of us needs to he very careful. We can't afford to lose our lives to those jerks or what do you think?!" He asked Ray teasingly.

" What i figured out is that the man is really good at hiding and its like he has been planning this for a long time. I wonder what his goal is." Ray replied with a serious face and Rowan nodded.

" Its okay..." Rowan replied and paused .

Rowan found it a bit disturbing though but he was not the type to tell or show the world his weakness and that was why he was called the Insourmountable.

No matter how difficult the situation could be,, he would always solve it calmly and that had always made him invincible to his enemies because they would always wonder why he was so calm.. He had to keep up with this while still fighting for the position of the Conglomerate but he was just as calm as a lake.

At first he thought Sapphire was going be an easy opponent because she was a lady, but she proved him wrong. Not like she was much of a trouble anyway but he still could not fully relax when she was still so active.

He stood up from his seat and walked toward his table. He picked a book and read a little letter that was hidden inside before he revealed a sweet smile.
" Get me a sweet girl to spend the night with." He said to Ray. He was always like this when he had problem in his life.
" Wow! Let's do that then!' Ray replied!.
"Maybe I really need to see Sapphire so we can talk this out. I heard that She also received the threat letter. She must be troubled". He said with his eyes shining sparkling like fire.

Although he had a perfect figure, Rowan could be very cold, brutal but he wasn't the type to let his partner be taken down by riff raffs. He liked to deal with his partners himself even if it meant to take down all their enemies so that so that he could be the only one they would face.

He pondered on the next step to take on the matters he was facing but the first thing on his agenda right then was to get a woman to have some fun with!.

" Lets party tonight, Ray!' He shouted and Ray laughed.

Rowan decided to meet with Sapphire before he would relax with a woman because meeting with Sapphire was the biggest problem for him.

Sapphire was surprised when she heard that Rowan wanted to see her and she couldnt believe her ears at first but she was truly happy that she was going to see him even though she already knew it would all end up being a cat and rat meeting and she would end up getting annoyed at the end of the meeting but she was still glad that she would at least see his face.

Rowan and sapphire were having a one on one meeting at a bar and someone looking at them from a far distance would think they were the perfect couple of the universe.

"So we need to decide who is going to head the conglomerate with immediate effect." sapphire said staring at Rowan. It was the first thing she said as soon as she sat down and it made Rowan raised a brow as that wasn't the reason he came in the first place.

"Well this would have been settled a long time ago if you had just back down"he said sitting up straight to face her. He was so focused on her face trying to see what her reaction would be. He was going to tease the hell out of her before relaxing back home.

"You still don't get me, Mr Rowan. Do you?"she asked standing up.
Rowan was confused as to why she stood up and he wondered if she was going to walk out on him but her next action surprised the hell out of him!.
Sapphire walked over to him and picked his coffee. Without his consent, she took a sip out of it and winked at him before bending right in front of him, showing all her cleavages as she stared straight into his eyes but she was quick to stand up and turn her back to him and Rowan chuckled .
"You're a woman and besides I've been running the affairs for a long time now and I deserved the position fair and square but then you came into the picture and caused all these ruckus. "he said, looking at her from the back with an amused smile on his face.

Sapphire calmed her mind and dragged her leg back to her seat but she still could not turn her face to Rowan because she didn't want him to see how red her face was. She wanted to seduce him to see if he was weak minded when it came to women but she only affected herself. She seduced herself even before Rowan could figure out she was trying to seduce him....
