Chapter 27



Ronaldo and Vanessa got back home and Vanessa narrated all that happened between her and Leonard to Ronaldo and Ronaldo was furious.


'What nonsense, I expected better from him than to flirt with his own staff, he is not even ashamed of himself, he's so shameless, Vanessa it's better to be jobless than to have a boss like Leonard" Ronaldo said to Vanessa.


'Am going to drop my resignation letter tomorrow and am done working for Leonard" Vanessa said to Ronaldo in a depressed tone.


Ronaldo hurried to her side and gave har a hug.


'You will be alright Vanessa" Ronaldo said to Vanessa trying to comfort her.


'I know, I will be fine" Vanessa replied Ronaldo trying to accept the fact that she has no job once she submitted her resignation letter.


'I will try and get another job for you okay" Ronaldo said to Vanessa, still trying to comfort her.


'Thank you so much Ronaldo I don't know what I will do without you, you have been a very good best friend to me and I don't take that for granted I owe you a lot and I promise to also stand by you anytime any day" Vanessa said to Ronaldo trying to appreciate him for being a very good best friend to her.


'Anything for you Vanessa, you know I care a lot about you, and can't let anyone take you for granted, so you don't need to thank me because I know you will do the same for me if you were in your shoes, or won't you?"
Ronaldo replied Vanessa.


'Of course I would because I also care a lot about you so I would gladly be there to help you anytime you need my help Ronaldo" Vanessa said to Ronaldo replying to Ronaldo's questions.


Ronaldo and Vanessa hugged each other.

The following day Ronaldo had already left early for work so as not to get late, Vanessa already prepared her resignation letter and was ready to drop it at the office, when she received a call from
Ronaldo, she immediately picks the call


'Hello Ronaldo" Vanessa replied Ronaldo said as she picked the call.


'Hello Vanessa, how are you?" Ronaldo said to Vanessa.


'Am I good and you?" Vanessa replied to Ronaldo , answering his question.


'Am fine just trying to adjust at work without you" Ronaldo said to Vanessa in a soft tone.


'Sorry Ronaldo, you will be fine, hope you are not being stressed at work?" Vanessa said to Ronaldo.

'Of course not, I thought you would have gotten here by now," Ronaldo said to Vanessa, wondering why she hadn't come to work to drop her resignation letter.


'Am almost done, I will be there in a bit" Vanessa replied Ronaldo assuring him that she will soon get to work to submit her resignation letter.


'Okay Vanessa see you later" Ronaldo said to Vanessa.


'Okay bye" Vanessa replied to Ronaldo as she ended the call.


Vanessa got to work and heads to Leonard office to drop her resignation letter on his table, then she noticed the there was another lady on her desk and was wondering who the lady was, as she went closer she noticed the lady was Leonard new secretary,


'So Leonard got a new secretary even before I dropped my resignation letter?" Vanessa wondered as she was talking to herself.


Vanessa became even more furious at Leonard and didn't even wait to knock at Leonard's door before opening it wide and finding her way in.


'Vanessa, why would you barge into my office like this, can't you at least knock? Are you okay?" Leonard said to Vanessa angrily due to the fact that she entered his office without knocking which was very rude of her (Vanessa).


'Good morning sir, I am sorry to have walked in on you without knocking, I didn't mean to do so" Vanessa replied to Leonard calmly as she realized she was rude for barging but not his office without knocking.


'What nonsense, you have no manners, because if you did you wouldn't have done that" Leonard said to Vanessa still furious at her (Vanessa).


'Like I said earlier, I am sorry, that was a mistake, so you have no right to question my manners," Vanessa replied to Leonard.


'Why don't I have the right to question? Don't forget I haven't approved your registration letter, so don't think you can walk into my office and talk to me anyhow. Leonard yelled at Vanessa.


'You haven't approved my resignation letter yet, you have appointed a new secretary," Vanessa replied to Leonard.


'Yes I appointed a new secretary today because you threatened to drop your resignation letter and I can't afford to stay without a secretary, that is why I immediately hired one" Leonard said to Vanessa in a rude way.


'Anyways there's no need exchanging irrelevant words with you, because I am here to submit my resignation letter and not to talk to you" Vanessa said to Leonard rolling her eyes at him (Leonard) in a rude way as she drops her resignation letter on his table and attempts her leave immediately.


'Thanks for your offer, but as I said before I am not interested in you and never be interested in you" Vanessa replied Leonard as she finally takes her leave.


Vanessa left Leonard's office angrily, she didn't even wait for Leonard to dismiss her and tell her to leave.


Ronaldo saw Vanessa leave Leonard office and noticed the look on her (Vanessa) face wasn't nice at all, so he immediately went to meet her so he could find out what happened in the office when she went to submit her resignation letter.


'Vanessa what happened?" Ronaldo asked Vanessa wondering what Leonard had done again that made Vanessa angry.


'Nothing much Ronaldo, Leonard was just trying to convince me to date him and not to resign because I wouldn't get a better job, but I didn't listen to him, so I just dropped my resignation letter on his table and left because I didn't want to hear anymore word from him" Vanessa replied Ronaldo's question.


'Okay that good, I am suggesting you just rest for this week so that you can start looking for another job by next week, if that's okay by you" Ronaldo said to Vanessa.


'J would rather prefer to start searching for another job now because I can't afford to be jobless for a long time," Vanessa said to Ronaldo in a depressed tone.


'You don't have to stress yourself, you will get a better job soon, so just rest for the main time till you get a new job. Ronaldo said to Vanessa still trying to calm her down and convince her to take a break for a while.


'Okay if you say so, I will just take a break for this week and will Start searching for a job from next week" Vanessa said to Ronaldo.


'Go home and get some rest. I will get back to work now, see you later" Ronaldo said to Vanessa.


'See you later Ronaldo" Vanessa said to Ronaldo as she left the office to head back home.

Diego went to Fredrick's house to talk to him about Ronaldo and why he (Ronaldo) hadn't been able to get Vanessa by now. But when he got there he was told Fredrick was asleep so he had to wait for Fredrick to wake up so that he could discuss the matter with him.


He was offered a chair to sit on in the sitting room to make him feel comfortable while waiting for Fredrick to wake up. Few minutes later Fredrick joined Diego in the sitting room.


'Diego, hope I didn't keep you waiting for too long? I was taking a nap because I couldn't sleep all night, I was busy with some things" Fredrick asked Diego as he met him (Diego)sitting in the sitting room.


'No you didn't, although I have been here for a while" Diego replied to Fredrick's question.


'Hope you have been offered something to eat by the cook?" Fredrick asked Diego in a concerned way.


'Yes I was but I am not hungry so I told them not to worry because that is not my reason for coming here today" Diego replied Fredrick.


'Okay so what brings you here? If I may ask" Fredrick asked Diego wondering what could have brought him (Diego) to his house.


'Thank you for asking my friend, I am here concerning what Ronaldo was instructed to do, because he (Ronaldo) is taking time and it's almost seem like he (Ronaldo) is not even searching for the witness because if he is, he would have found her by now, because come to think of it Ronaldo is a mafia so he can easily get the witness, that's if he is truly searching" Diego said to Fredrick in a convincing way, trying to convince him that Ronaldo is not doing what was instructed of him to do.


'You have a point there, because Ronaldo is a very smart boy and also has a mafia blood running through his veins, so I also feel he is still searching for the witness and he would find the witness sooner than we except, anyways I have been trying to reach Ronaldo's line for a while now but it's not reachable, until yesterday when i could reach him through his work line and reminded about the search for the witness and he said that it haven't be easy for him searching for the witness, so he is yet to find the witness, and he (Ronaldo) assured me that he is still looking for the witness, and also promised to bring the witness ‘s head back home, so relax you don't have to worry yourself Diego" Fredrick said to Diego assuring him that everything is in control.


'My friend it's more than two months now and you know how Ronaldo is, he doesn't like to do evil or get his hands stained with blood, so he might even find the witness and choose not to tell you, so r even lie that he haven't seen the witness, so let's not trust him alone for this job" Diego said to Fredrick still trying to convince him not to trust Ronaldo.



'Diego my friend, let's still give time and see if he will get the witness" Fredrick suggested to Diego.


But Diego wasn't interested in the suggestions because wanted to be the one in charge of the search instead of Ronaldo.


'Fredrick, did you say time? But you and I know there is no time for this, we need to get this witness out of the way once and for all so that we can be at peace" Diego said to Fredrick trying very hard to convince him that they need to get the witness out of the way.


'I know time is not really on our side but, I can't do anything for now, let's still wait a little for Ronaldo to get back to me" Fredrick said to Diego calmly.


'Well if you say so, but I am not still convinced that Ronaldo can do this alone, because he already said it's stressful for him, but if they are two it's might be faster, we can just get someone else to join him Ronaldo to make it less stressful for him"
