Chapter 53



Fredrick was so hurt that he regretted the day he met Diego and decided to be business partner . He is such a betrayal and a wicked person.


With everything that has happened to Fredrick these past few days he wishes something like this never happened. He was trying to figure out why Diego would even do what he did in the first place. But he could not picture out any good reason and this made him do it.


'Argggh!" Fredrick yelled angrily and threw his things on the floor. He started remembering different days and occurrences that would have made him know that Diego is not a genuine friend, but he decided to overlook it with the mentality that he always overthinks everything.


Fredrick's driver was slowly approaching Diego's house but he was so impatient that he wished the car could fly there.


He realized he has been fooling himself thinking he has a friend, he felt more like a fool than a betrayed friend because there were many occurrences that would have made him know that Diego was fooling him.


The period of goods that he took inside his house secretly, Fredrick knew about it but he did not do anything about it. If he was not stupidly too foolish he would have confronted him there and then.


'I'm so stupid." Fredrick said to himself and sat on the bed angrily. He was feeling too down to step out of the house, that he didn't even think of going to see Diego.


'Diego!" He shouted Diego's name angrily. He stood up and walked out of the room. When he got out of his room he saw the daughter of the man that he asked them to take away because he was owing him some money.


Even though he was angry he felt sad when he saw the girl. He could relate to how her dad was when he was owing him money because he was really sad when he was owing someone too.


The girl has never smiled since she got to his house, she is definitely missing her parents, Fredrick was no longer interested in what owed him what he wants now is to pull the trigger on Diego's head the moment he claims that what he heard is true.


Fredrick brought out his phone from his pocket and placed a call across to someone.


'Good day sir." The person Fredrick called said to him immediately. Fredrick was quiet for sometime without saying anything to the person.


'Come and take your daughter away." The man was shocked to hear Fredrick say such a thing to him, he has actually given up on ever getting his daughter back. Since his wife left him nothing has gone right with his life, he seemed to have failed in everything.


'Thank you very much sir I…" Fredrick hung up immediately because he was less interested in what the man had to say.


Fredrick walked out of the house with some bodyguards. While he was on his way to the place he was very angry and he hated himself and was more angry at himself, he realized everything Ronaldo told him was true.


Diego was only using him to make all his operations easy; he was never a friend that Fredrick thought he had.


'I am so stupid." Fredrick said to himself and hit his hand on his head, he was very disappointed in himself and couldn't believe he ever thought he was smarter than Ronaldo meanwhile Ronaldo is far smarter than him.


He remembered when it all started how Ronaldo warmed him about not taking their dad's legacy of hurting people doing illegal things and being a threat to people.


That's one of the reasons Ronaldo didn't grow with them because he was irritated by their lifestyle. He was ready to do anything apart from being a part of their evil things.


When their father died and even before he died, Ronaldo begged Fredrick not to take over their dad's legacy because there are lots of horrible things he will do, but Fredrick gave him deaf ears because he has always wanted to take over their father.


When he was younger his dad brought him closer so that he could learn everything as his first child so it was then he started desiring to be a mafia one day and take over their dad's legacy.


But as a mafia he has realized how horrible life can be, you treat people like they don't exist, they kill like they are doing you a Favour.


They have to live without conscience, there is no space for life or emotions as a mafia else you'll be ruined.


Fredrick didn't know why he was suddenly thinking about all this as he could feel he is regretting ever being a mafia and taking over their dad's legacy.


'I'll make sure I kill him." Fredrick said to himself. But Fredrick was still hoping that man of his was not telling the truth or Diego had a better explanation for what he did.


Fredrick decided not to think too much about it again, because it might not be true, but he promised himself that if it's true he'll make sure he pulls the trigger in Diego's head.


Ronaldo got the news of Diego sending men after him and the witness, he became scared not for himself but for Vanessa, the last time they talked about everything that's going on it ended as a disaster so he decided not to bring this up to her and just find a way out by himself.


Vanessa was missing her free life already. She wanted to stop hiding and come out so the world could see her. She walked into Ronaldo's room and met him sitting on the couch. He turned to look at her and smiled when he heard the sound of his room door.


'How are you?" Ronaldo asked Vanessa, she smiled and sat on the couch too. From the look on her face Ronaldo could tell she had something to say to him but she was struggling to say it.


'Are you okay?" Ronaldo asked Vanessa, she nodded her head and turned to look at him, her face says it all that she is not okay.


'I am just missing being free." Vanessa broke it to Ronaldo. Ronaldo was quiet when he heard what Vanessa said, if only she knew things have gotten worse she will not be saying this.


He stared at her and. He could see from the look on her face that she really missed the outside world.


'I wish I could do something about that." Ronaldo said to her, he was not ready to give her false hope like he used to do. From the way he sounded, she could tell that he was trying to blunt to her like something just happened.


Alina knows that Ronaldo is always there to comfort her and make her feel better each time she brings up something like that but this time he said it to her so bluntly showing her that there is nothing he can do for her.


'Is there something wrong?" Vanessa asked Ronaldo, Ronaldo was shocked to hear the question because he was trying not to let it show so her finding out about it shocked him.


'No. I mean no, nothing is wrong." Ricard said to her abs started laughing stupidly, Vanessa folded her hand when she saw him laughing.


'He only laughs like this when he is nervous." Vanessa said to herself while staring at Ronaldo.


'Hey, don't give me that look, I'm not going to tell you." Ronaldo had to tell her that because it looked like he really can't hide the truth from you. Vanessa moved closer to him when she heard what he said.


'Oh this is not good." Ronaldo said to himself. He was angry at himself because he cannot hide something from her again, she will always end up finding out.


It's not been years since they started staying together but she already studied him like they have been together almost forever.


'Please tell me what's going on, remember we are in this together I cannot be left blank." Vanessa said to Ronaldo when she noticed he didn't want to tell him about what was troubling him. Ronaldo knew he has already fucked up, but he just didn't know how to bring it up to her.


'Okay, the thing is Diego sent his men to find us and kill us on the spot." Vanessa opened her eyes wider than usual and she couldn't believe what she just heard.


'Is that even possible?" Vanessa asked herself. This time around she did not act the way she did the first time. She was more reasonable and she understood what Ronaldo was trying to say to her.


'Is your brother aware?" Vanessa asked Ronaldo curiously, because she was scared that If his brother is aware of it that means they are definitely going to be killed.


'He wasn't until today, he called to tell me about it." Vanessa was relieved when she heard that part of the story. She knew that once Fredrick knows about it he will not let Diego do anything to hurt his brother because of how much he loves his brother.


'Don't worry, nothing will happen to us." Ronaldo said to Vanessa. He held her hand and turned to look at her, she smiled and held his hand too.


'I hope so." Vanessa said to herself while looking at Ronaldo's face.


Fredrick was already at Diego's mansion the moment his driver parked the car he got out without waiting for anyone to help him open the door. He stood outside Diego's house and shot the gun up.


Diego was in his room getting prepared to go visit his friend When he suddenly heard the gunshot he was wondering what's going on, he stopped what he found and peeped through the window.


He smiled when he saw it was Fredrick.


'Why is he giving himself such a grand entrance? it's not a show, it's my house." Diego said to himself then closed the window, he walked out of his room and started heading downstairs.


It was unknown to Diego that Fredrick already knew about his secret plan so he went down excited to greet a friend.


When he got outside he saw how his men were lined up ready to shoot Fredrick and his men. It looked like a serious disagreement.


'Take you down!" Diego shouted the moment he saw what was going on. He looked at Fredrick and he noticed Fredrick looked very angry.


'Why does he look like he is about to shoot me?" Diego asked himself, but he knew Fredrick cannot do such a thing to him in the presence of his boys.


Fredrick was still standing outside and refused to go in. Diego walked closer to him and touched his shoulder.


'Common, let's go in." Diego said to him, sounding friendly and nice. Fredrick felt like killing him the moment he touched him.


'I am fine here." Fredrick said to him as he removed his hand from his shoulder. Diego was lost, at this point he knew that things were not as simple as he thought they are.


'What's wrong with you? Wait… don't tell me a bad sale is making you act like this." Diego said and laughed out, he frowned back immediately he noticed that Fredrick's face did not change.

He realized what's making Fredrick this angry has to be something very serious because it's unlike Fredrick to be really angry with him.


'Man, talk to me about what's going on here?" Diego asked Fredrick in a very serious tone this time. Fredrick was just staring at him while he was staring at him he was wondering If what he heard Is really true or he was just messing with him.


'I want you to tell me the truth Diego, all I want to hear is the truth." Fredrick finally said something to Diego.


Diego was lost when he heard what Fredrick said to him.


'What truth are you talking about?" Diego asked Fredrick.
