Chapter 9



**The next day**


The spy met Anthony.


"I don't know why, but they said you can't meet them today." The spy said.


"But why? I thought we got this under control." Anthony replied.


"They said they will inform me about the new date, it seems like they are having problems delivery the hard drugs, but you don't worry, let's wait for the new date." The spy said.


Anthony unwillingly agreed, he thought Everything will be over today and he will get this revenge.


"I know what you are thinking, but everything needs patience, else if we try to rush it, it will destroy all our hard work." He said.


"You are right, let's hope for good." Anthony replied.



Ronaldo became extra careful because he understood that Diego is watching him every minute, so he always sneaked at night to see Vanessa, and their relationship is growing up nicely.


Fredrick doesn't allow Ronaldo to go anywhere without guards with him, which is really annoying and it's pissing him off.



**One month later**

**star bar**

Diego and Fredrick met at the VIP section at star bar; they planned to hang out and to discuss their business well.


As they met, they hugged, and do their usual greetings, then sat down.


The waiter came to them, but their sight alone makes him scared.


Diego dressed in black shirt very rough shirt, and a tore trouser, while Fredrick a brown shirt and a polo trouser, Fredrick's shirt has an off shoulder exposing his tattoo, a big spider tattoo, his teeth are colorful and really disgusting.


"Will you stop staring?" Diego yelled getting everyone's attention.


"I'm, so sorry." The waiter said with his body shaking.


"What can I offer you?" He asked.


"You're most expensive wine on the list." Diego replied.


"It cost dollars sir." The waiter replied.


"We are not in America; I can pay with whatever I want." Diego said.


"It's alright, I will pay, how much does it cost?" Fredrick asked.


Diego rolled his eyes.


"It cost 1 thousand dollars sir." The waiter replied.


"Get us two bottles." Fredrick said and the waiter thick it out on the paper, praying to leave the place in peace.


After a while he brought their order and they poured it in a cup.


"So, when will the goods arrive?" Fredrick asked.


"Soon enough, they are wasting time and we are keeping our clients waiting." Diego said.


"Okay, any news about the witness?" Fredrick asked.


"I should be the one to ask you, since you claimed that Ronaldo has been searching for her which clearly he is not." Diego answered.


"What did you mean?" Fredrick asked taking a sip of wine.


"I mean that, if he has been really searching for her as he claimed, then he will have found something new and interesting of her whereabouts, but known is happening." Diego said and paused as he sips his wine.


"And it means one thing; it means he hasn't been searching for her." Diego completed.


"I know he has been searching for her, because I saw him, last two weeks he even visited another country when he saw it on his tracker but before he reached there, she escaped, the girl is moving far from us, which is good, if she is not near us then she won't be able to expose our little secret." Fredrick said.


"I think you are right." Diego said.


"I heard Anthony has returned and he visited the police as usual they didn't cooperate." Fredrick said.


"They are under our control, but we just killed his dad, and he won't let it slide, no one has seen he expects that girl, don't you think he will try to look for her too?" Diego said.


"I thought of that too, I knew he will, but now that she is far from us and him, it's the best we stop searching for her and focus on things that are more important, so Ronaldo will also rest." Fredrick muttered.


"While in Kenya, I almost kidnapped the girl when a guy attacked me and she escaped, I didn't recognized him but I'm sure he has to do with Anthony, and he is there to get to girl too, which means that we shouldn't stop searching for her." Diego said.


"Do you know what Anthony looks like?"


Fredrick asked.


"No, not at all." Diego replied.


"Well, I know him very well before he left the country, he is a coward and of course he gave up, so I suggest we should ignore this investigation." Fredrick insisted.


"But we shouldn't be too sure that the girl is gone forever, as far as she breath the air of been alive, our lives are in danger every minute, our reputation are on stake, we are well Known and high class Mafia's, attacking Robert and killing him at the forest proved us incapable of killing him in public, and that makes us coward, if Anthony finds the witness, then everyone will laugh at us that we are cowards, you know the rule and how the system works." Diego exclaimed.


"We shouldn't have killed him in secret; it was all your idea." Fredrick said.


"I know, but I was just trying to help you get revenge on your father's death so his soul could rest in peace, and wherever he is right now, he is proud of you, he is happy that someone is there to take care of the Mafia dynasty even if he is no more." Diego said.


"You are right, but the best solution is to stop looking for the girl because she wouldn't dare show her face to us, if she did, then she will face her death, let's stop this and focus on what is important." Fredrick said.


"Well, if that's what you want then I promise not to bring up the topic anymore, we will only focus on the goods and weapons we are delivering for our clients." Diego said.


"That's my guy, let's get this done." Fredrick said and they gulped down the remaining wine.


"I will inform Ronaldo about the news and he will be happy that there won't be any stress." Fredrick said.


Diego nod even though in his mind, he knew he won't stop searching till he find her and kill her.



**Ronaldo's house**


Fredrick returned home with exciting news, he called Ronaldo to share it with him.


"Ronaldo, I have some good news to share." Fredrick said.


"Really, have you found the girl?" Ronaldo asked.


"Yeah, I mean no, about the girl, we have concluded that we will stop searching for her." Fredrick said and Ronaldo's heart is dancing in joy.


"Are you serious, I mean why? I thought she is a threat to you?" Ronaldo asked pretending that he isn't too happy about the news.


"She is, but we spent month searching for her, we traveled around all neighborhood countries and it doesn't result to anything good, in your side you spent most of your days trying to track her but all in vain, I'm tired of seeing you slept on, on your laptop trying to locate her, so it's the best decision I have made." Fredrick answered.


"But I'm not complaining, and this girl is a threat to your life, you are the only one I have now that father passed away, I will give my all in finding this girl, I don't want to stop searching for her, and I don't want you to live in fear of your enemies getting the witness before you." Ronaldo said pretending to care while rejoicing in his heart.


"I understand and appreciate that you cared for me, but as I told you earlier, this case is over, I have informed all my spies to stop searching for her, I also informed Diego to back off, I felt bad whenever he accused you of hiding the girl, so you don't have to worry now, you can return to London if you want." Fredrick said.


"Okay, thanks brother, you are the best, I will return to London but not now, and please you have to be careful, this Mafia is just endangering your life, I don't want to lose you, living your lives with weapons and guns as your best friend isn't cool at all, Please brother." Ronaldo pleaded.


"I had informed you about the news, you can go out and celebrate, we are not gonna talk about myself again, Mafia is what I choose to be, and I love it, I never forced you to join us, so brother, do yourself justice and stay out of this, my duty is to keep you safe and I will do just that, if you need anything, you let me know." Fredrick said and tabs his back before leaving.


Immediately, Ronaldo danced around the room happily.


He decided to visit Vanessa.

*South Africa**

Ronaldo arrived and knocks on the door, Vanessa opened up immediately, she saw him smiling.


"Seems you are in a good mood." She said.


"You don't have to keep on hiding, guess what, my brother had given up and he decided to stop searching for you, we did it!" Ronaldo exclaimed happily.


"Wow, finally I can return to my country and see Mom." Vanessa said excitedly.


"Not your country, you still have to wait, what I meant is that, you can now move around freely." Ronaldo said.


"I really miss my mother." Vanessa said sadly.


"I understand, it will take a little bit if your patience and you will be back again with your mother." Ronaldo calmly.


"I don't think my life will ever be the same, they have ruined my life." Vanessa said.


"This is time for excitement and not for you to cry, I don't want to see you sad, you get ready and I will take us out to have lunch at a restaurant, cool with you?" He asked.


"Sure, I will go get ready." She replied and he agreed.


While he waited for her to get ready, his phone rings and it's an unknown number.


He hesitates to pick it up, but it seems like the person calling is not willing to stop calling, he decided to answer it but Vanessa returned that moment.


She wears her face mask.


"Shall we?" She asked and he stared at her.


She looks cute even though she doesn't apply any makeups.


"Yes." He replied and they headed out of the house, they went to the car and the phone rings again.


"Your phone is ringing." Vanessa said.


"Give me a second." He said and she waited for him at his car.


He answered the call.


"Who are you, why are you freaking calling me?" Ronaldo asked.


"It's seems like staying with us make you tough huh." The caller replied.


"Diego!" Ronaldo asked surprised.


"The one and only." Diego replied.


"What did you want?" Ronaldo yelled.


"You have nothing that you can offer to me, I don't want anything from you, you have succeeded in fooling your foolish brother about not finding the girl and you also succeeded in making him to quit searching for her huh." Diego said.


"I don't know what you are talking about, and secondly, my brother is not foolish, you are the foolish one here, and lastly, I never stopped looking for her, my brother decided that and I opposed it, but he insisted and I had no option than to agree, so stop blaming everything on me, I'm tired of it." Ronaldo yelled.


"And you think I am a fool to believe you huh." Diego said.


"You are more into this than my brother, you are a bad influence to him, and I'm not scared of you, the witness just like my brother told you, she wouldn't dare show her face because she knows the consequences, let me breathe." Ronaldo said and hangs off angrily.


He knew that Diego will always be a problem, he always add fuel to the fire.
