Chapter 25.



Ronaldo seeing Leonard hugging Vanessa kinda hurts him, he doesn't know but he sure didn't feel good about it.

He wondered why Frad is acting this way, when he always shows he isn't interested in girls.

"Thanks for saving me." Vanessa said.

"You are welcome, let's head to the meeting, I got an important announcement to make." He said.

"Okay, let's go Vanessa." Ronaldo replied and held Vanessa's hand.

Maria came out from her hiding place.

"Mission failed how I wished she has broken her bones, shit!" Maria cursed.



**The conference Hall**

All the staffs of the company were all seated in a round table including Ronaldo who sat next to Vanessa.

"Mr Ronaldo, you are not seating at the managers chair." Frad said aloud.

"No, I'm fine, with Vanessa." Ronaldo replied.

Frad frowned again.

"Anyways, let's start this, ladies and gentlemen you are all welcome to this emergency conference meeting, and without wasting much time, I will like to make three to four announcement." Frad said and they clapped.

"Firstly, I will like to officially welcome Vanessa to our company, and I hope she will enjoy her stay here with us." Frad said and they clapped.

"Thanks sir." Vanessa replied.

He winked at her and she looked away really fast.

Maria felt like bursting, this meeting was especially for her, but Vanessa's name came first before hers, it's so annoying, she tried to act cool.

"Secondly, I will like to commend Mrs Maria for the Excellent work she did in uniting Martino Enterprise, our long time Rival and our company, she did an amazing work for getting us the investment contract we have been wanting to get, congratulations Maria."

Frad announced, Maria stood up bouncing and everyone stared at her disgustingly.

"Thank you, Mr Leonard." Maria said turning around.

"What the heck is she doing? Is she in a fashion parade show that she is turning around like a fan?" Sarah asked the girl next to her.

"That's my thought too, I'm everything she most show that she knows it all, let her sit down before she embarrass herself."

The girl replied.

They all managed to clap but not willingly.

"And thirdly, I want to appreciate Mr Ronaldo for taking care of this company, and also giving us his best to the development of the company." He said.

Everyone clapped loudly for Ronaldo.

Vanessa dragged his cheek.

"Congratulations dude." He said with a smile.

Leonard happens to see that again, and he is getting even angrier, no jealous and he has to end things.

"And lastly, I will be working with you guys in this company from today, let's just say I'm back to working with you all."

Leonard said.

"Wow, that's so cool man." Ronaldo said and shakes his hands.

"We have been looking forward to have you back." He added.

"Thanks Ronaldo, since I'm back now, I will need a secretary of my own, and after having a thought about it, I have come to decide who will be my secretary." Leonard said.

All the girls wished it will be them.

Vanessa only wished for the boring meeting to end, what's more annoying was that she will have to be seeing Frad ugly face everyday now that he is back working with them, what even changed his idea; he was talking about handling over the CEO position to Ronaldo, what then changed his mind.

"And my new secretary will be miss, Vanessa!" He announced and everyone was quiet, yeah everyone is shock, just as Vanessa and Ronaldo.

"What, no!" Vanessa yelled.

"Were you saying something?" Frad asked.

"No, I just said thank you." Vanessa replied eyeing him

"So with this, the meeting is officially over, Vanessa, meet me at my office so we can start." Frad said and left the conference Hall, Ronaldo followed him.



"Mr Friend waits!" Ronaldo yelled.

He stopped.

"How may I help you Ronaldo?" Frad asked.

"I was just wondering why the sudden change of plans, you told me you will be returning to the other company later but you just announced that you will be working here with us." Ronaldo said.

"Yeah, something made me change that, before the office used to be boring and dry, but now that there is light at the end of the tunnel, I don't need to leave." Leonard Smirked.

"I don't understand." Ronaldo said.

"Don't worry, guy, you will, and thanks for bringing Vanessa to this company, you deserved an award for that." Frad said.

"About that, Vanessa doesn't have any idea about been a secretary, I don't think it's a nice idea." Ronaldo said.

"She doesn't have to lift a pen, you will understand soon, don't worry." Frad said.

"Okay, have a nice day." Ronaldo replied.

Vanessa followed Ronaldo.

"What in the world is wrong with that man, why will he chose my as his secretary, why will he chose to be working with us?" Vanessa asked.

"I don't know Vanessa, I don't understand what he is trying to do, but as I promised, I'm here to make sure you are safe okay, I'm just sad that you will be spending so much time with him now." Ronaldo answered.

"What did you mean?" Vanessa asked.

"We won't be having lunch together, since he is your boss, you will have to have lunch with him always, and you will always escort him to meetings and a lot of things." Ronaldo said sadly.

"No, I don't want that, I'm going straight to his office and tell him I quit, I can't work with that man." Vanessa yelled.

"No Vanessa, you can do this, just be fine okay, we will find a way, if you try to act stubborn he may decide to fire me since it's his company not mine." Ronaldo said.

"I understand, I will be fine." Vanessa replied.

He pats her hair.

"I will go meet Mr Leonard." Vanessa said.

"Okay, take care." Ronaldo replied.

Vanessa left, Maria came with a wicked smiled.

"Aww, so bad Ronaldo, seems like someone is trying to snatch your Vanessa from you and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it, his sad, don't cry okay." Maria said with a fake concern face then burst out laughing.

"Today was so fun, the best day of my life, I will have you to myself and Frad Will has Vanessa to himself, and remembers the meeting? We are going together, and Vanessa will go with her new boss." Maria said.

"You are so annoying, just leave me alone." Ronaldo yelled and walked away to his office.

He locked the door and sat on the floor at the back of the door.

He recalled Vanessa hugging Leonard and he felt a sharp pain in his heart.

He stood up and throws the flowers vase next to him and it's smashed into pieces.

"Why Vanessa, why do you have to leave me, you supposed to be my queen alone, now you are getting destined from me."

Ronaldo said and cried.

Everything that is happening is making him so sad and Frad appearance and taking Vanessa from him and there is nothing he could do about it.



**Leonard office**

Vanessa knocked.

"Come in." Frad replied, Vanessa walked in.

"Oh Vanessa, it's you, you don't have to knock." Frad said.

"Why? That's the rule right." Vanessa asked.

"Yeah, but you are special to me and..."

"Stop, I'm only special to one person and that's Ronaldo, You can call me anything but not special." Vanessa warned.

"Oh, you are so stubborn and beautiful, so what do you think, are you happy to be my secretary?" Frad asked.

"No, I'm not and I don't think I will be." Vanessa replied.

"Aww so bad, a lot of girls were wishing to be in this position you get without even an interview." Frad said.

"Lot girls, but not this girl seating here, when shall we start, since we are here for work?" Vanessa asked.

"Tomorrow, we are having meeting in a hotel, Ronaldo will be there with Maria, while you will go there with me, I want you to have this cash, go get yourself a beautiful gown, and you have to look beautiful." Frad said.

She pushed the money to him.

"Thanks but Ronaldo has gotten me good outfits, I don't need your money for it."

Vanessa replied.

"The ways you are acting make me so much happier, I love bold and brave girls, anyways, go get ready, we are going for lunch." Leonard said.

"I told you I can't come with you today; I have to be with Ronaldo." Vanessa half yelled.

"But you are now my secretary and you must be having lunch with me from now on." Frad said.

"Just this last day please." Vanessa pleaded.

"My heart can't watch you begging, so you can go have lunch with Ronaldo, just die today, but tomorrow, you gonna be officially mine." Frad said.

"Thanks, a lot." Vanessa replied.

"You seem to like Ronaldo a lot." Frad said.

"Yeah, he is my best friend and very special to me, with your permission, can I leave?" Vanessa asked.

"Yes, see you tomorrow by 8:30." Leonard said, Vanessa nodded and quickly rushed to Ronaldo's office.

It was slightly open so she entered, but she almost screamed at what she saw.

Ronaldo has turned his office upside down, he nearly destroyed all the stuffs in the office, and he wounded his hand with a flower vase.

"Ronaldo, what is wrong with you." She asked while he seated on the floor.

"Talk to me Ronaldo, wait here, I will go get help." Vanessa said but he pulled her to himself and she landed on his shirt.

"Don't leave, just stay with me." Ronaldo said.

"You are losing so much blood Ronaldo I can't watch you like this, wait, I will tie it."

She said and tore her head tie and began to tie his hand, after that she stared at him.

"What is wrong with you Ronaldo, why are you hurting yourself, talk to me." She said.

"I don't want you to work with that guy."

Ronaldo said.

"That's not enough reason for you to hurt yourself." Vanessa replied.

"But he will distance you from me and I can't bear that, you will be having lunch with him, even now too." Ronaldo said.

"Yes but for now, I'm having lunch with you, and we will still be staying in the same house so don't worry, we will always be together." Vanessa replied.

"Tomorrow meeting, you will be with him, not me, telling me, why won't it hurt me? I'm so used to been with you and now he want to take you away from me."

Ronaldo said.

"No he can't, nobody will, you will forever remain my special Ronaldo, we will remain best of friends and how about this, I will have lunch with him in the afternoon and eat small food, after that I will come to you so we can eat out normal lunch, do you like it?" Vanessa asked

"That's a nice idea, but if you fail to show up, I will be angry and won't eat lunch that day, deal?" He asked.

"Deal." She replied and she placed her head on his chest.

He wrapped his hands around her.

"You are acting weak Ronaldo, remember who you are, son of a great Mafia, your brother is also a great Mafia, you don't have to be wicked to anyone, but you have to get that brave heart from them, whatever Mr Leonard had in mind will not work against us, you know why? Because we were meant to be together, and after escaping together from so many obstacles, Maria or Leonard were too small to separate us." Vanessa exclaimed.

Ronaldo felt brave again, he was weak because he thought Vanessa will be taken away from him, she will be far from him but now that she assured him she will always be with him no matter what.

He felt a rise of hope.

Vanessa arranged the office and applied iodine to his wound.

They decided that no matter what, they won't be weak in front of Leonard.
