CHAPTER 54



Fredrick looked at Diego when he asked him the question, he was really finding it hard to believe that Diego would do something like that to him.


'Did you get new goods last month?" Diego was shocked when he heard the question Fredrick asked him, he was wondering how Fredrick found out about it.


He could remember clearly that the day he brought them he made sure no one else knew about it. So he was wondering how Fredrick found out about it.


'What are you talking about?" Diego asked Fredrick, pretending not to understand what Fredrick was trying to say.


'All I want you to say is the truth." Fredrick replied Diego. He knows the trust but he wants Diego to admit the truth himself.


Diego sensed Fredrick must have found out the truth. For him to be asking him about it like this it definitely means he knows the truth. Diego cleared his throat and raised his head to look at Fredrick.


'Yes I did." Fredrick raised his head to look at Diego when he answered the question at least he knew that Diego was being honest with him now.


'What about the secret search on my brother and the witness?" Diego was shocked to hear the question Fredrick asked him. He was wondering how Fredrick is aware of everything.


Fredrick was waiting for Diego's reply.


'What's all these about Fredrick?" Diego asked Fredrick, already getting pissed at the question that Fredrick is asking him. Fredrick knew Diego was already angry but that does not answer the question he asked all he wanted to know is the truth.


Diego has been trying to stay friends with Fredrick not because he cherishes their friendship but because he wasn't done making use of him to achieve what he wants.


He planned on using Fredrick and then dump him with nothing left with him, then he can successfully be the most successful mafia like he has always wished.


But seeing what Fredrick is doing now is about to spoil his plans. Diego was trying not to let his anger get the best of him, he struggled to swallow the anger in so that he would not ruin his chances of getting what he wanted.


'Just answer my question!" Fredrick yelled angrily. Diego was totally over with the whole pretending thing.


'And who do you think you are?" Diego asked Fredrick angrily. Fredrick was shocked to hear the way Diego talked to him, he couldn't say anything he just stood and started staring at Diego.


'You are just a small boy that cannot think like a man." Diego said to Fredrick and laughed out aloud. Fredrick was in shock. He was trying to understand what's going on, why will Diego talk to him in such a manner.


'How dare you? Do you realize you are speaking to Fredrick Augustine?" Fredrick said to Diego angrily. Diego stopped laughing when he heard what Fredrick said then all of a sudden he started laughing again.


Fredrick was irritated at his laughter and he wanted to give Diego a punch so badly. He was wondering what's giving Diego the guts to do what he is doing.


'Who did you say you are again? Fredrick Augustine my white ass." Diego said offensively. Fredrick couldn't take it anymore so he gave Diego a punch on the face. Diego men brought out their guns immediately ready to fire a shot, Fredrick men also brought out theirs. It was about to get bloody but Diego stopped his men by raising his hand.


They lowered their guns and Fredrick man also stepped backwards. Diego started laughing again and spat out blood from his mouth, he was obviously hurt from the punch.


'How dare you speak about Augustine's I'm such manners?" Fredrick scolded Diego.


Diego couldn't stop laughing and that's what angered Fredrick the most, it made him look stupid and he hates looking stupid.


'Did you really send your men after my brother?" Fredrick asked Diego again hoping not to hear yes from him.


Diego raised his head to look at Fredrick, both of them stared at each other for a while then Diego smiled.


'Yes I did, I don't know why y'all are so stupid, from your dad actually." Fredrick could stand anything but he'll never stand it if his father is insulted by anybody.


He gave Diego another punch, Diego was expecting the punch but it came earlier than he expected, he didn't feel the pain instead he started laughing.


'You were nothing before my father, he made you this famous, how dare you call him stupid?" Fredrick asked him angrily. Diego's mood changed immediately and he gave a tight-lipped smile.


'Your dad didn't make me, I struggled to become who I am. Do you have any idea of what I did for your dad before I got here? No! So don't ever say your dad made me." Diego said to Fredrick angrily.


None of all these that he has said mattered to Fredrick, all that mattered to him is that Diego is being ungrateful. He remembered clearly that there was a time Diego went to his dad for help and within a period of time he became famous.


'I worked endlessly to get to where I am, I did a lot of evil just to get here, and I don't regret any of it."Diego said to Fredrick. Fredrick was shocked to hear everything Diego was saying, it felt to him like Diego was about to confess something to him.



'That does not change the fact that my dad once helped you when you needed one." Fredrick said to Diego angrily. Diego shared his fist angrily. He was wondering what made Fredrick feel his dad was so perfect.


'It was just once he helped me." Diego said to Fredrick almost in a whisper. 'I know what I went through just to get that help from him, you can never know because you are just a spoiled little daddy's boy." Diego added. Fredrick felt embarrassed at the fact that Diego kept calling him a little boy when he was very much aware of his age.


The whole thing was getting messy, Fredrick wanted to give Diego another punch but Diego held his hand.


'I'll not let you hit me another time." Diego said to Fredrick angrily and threw his hand away.


'Why did you choose to betray me after everything we have done together?" Fredrick asked Diego when he was already getting calm, he was sad because they have done a lot together within these few periods of time and those moments meant a lot to him.


Fredrick was beginning to see Diego as not just a friend but a brother for helping him kill the person that killed his father.


'That's why i said you are stupid." Fredrick was shocked when he heard what Diego said, Fredrick was trying to make peace and forgive Diego for trying to kill his brother without telling him about it.


'I forgive you, but I want you to withdraw and tell your men to return back and stop the search." Fredrick said to Diego trying to make peace with Diego. Diego looked at Fredrick and started laughing.


Fredrick was wondering what's making Diego laugh because he cannot remember when he said anything funny.


'What's funny!" Fredrick asked Diego when he couldn't hold the question in again. Diego stopped laughing when Fredrick asked him the question.


'Who do you think you are to tell me what to do and what not to do?" Fredrick was getting tired of the whole thing, he was wondering why Diego is trying to make the whole thing worse than it actually is already.


'I told you earlier you are a small boy that knows nothing." Diego said to Fredrick. Fredrick shared his fist and hit his chin. He was slowly getting very angry but he just controlled it so he'll not be the one to make matters worse.


'I told you to stop calling me a small boy." Fredrick said angrily to Diego. Diego started staring at him. 'I have told you let's end this here and now. Just stop the search thing. I forgive you." Fredrick added. When Diego heard what Fredrick said he was angry again because Fredrick is talking as if he is the boss.


He felt Fredrick was trying to rule him just the way his dad riled the affairs of his life.


When Diego was younger there was a time he needed money to build his business very well, the only person that was available to help him was (Fredrick) father. He went to him and begged him for help.


Through the help that was rendered to him by the mafia he started his own mafia business and built himself very well.


But that wasn't enough for him, he wanted the position of Mr Augustine being the most feared and richest mafia.


'You'll forgive me?" Diego asked Fredrick, to be sure if he heard Fredrick very well. Fredrick looked at him and nodded his head.


'Yes I will bite you'll have to call your men back." Fredrick said to Diego, he was already calm because he felt the whole thing was dying down already and Diego is also coming back to his senses.


'Are you sure of what you are saying?" Diego asked Fredrick again. Fredrick was wondering why Diego was asking him such a question and he looked really serious while asking the question. Fredrick was wondering what must be going on in Diego's head now.


'Yes I am, you are my friend and I cherish our friendship a lot, so yes I'll forgive you." Fredrick said to Diego trying to make Diego know that he is very aware of what he is saying and he Jean every bit of it.


A smile escaped Diego's lips when he heard what Fredrick said, he wished Fredrick knew the real truth he knew Fredrick would not say such a thing.


Fredrick noticed Diego has been smiling since he told him that he'll forgive him, Fredrick was happy the whole thing is slowly dying down. His only concern is the way Diego had been staring at him with a smile on his face.


'Are you okay?" Fredrick asked Diego, the moment Fredrick asked Diego the question Diego started laughing. The whole thing looked more like Diego was slowly going crazy.


'You were saying you forgive me, if you know the truth will you really forgive me?" Diego asked Fredrick after laughing for a while. Fredrick was calm, he was wondering what's really going on.


'What truth are you talking about?" Fredrick asked Diego, the whole thing was driving him crazy already.


Diego keeps saying this and then that, he just keeps beating around the bush.


'Please tell me what truth you are talking about?" Fredrick doesn't know why he was getting really curious to know what the truth is about but one thing he is sure of Is that he doesn't have a good feeling about the truth Diego is talking about.



Diego did not reply to Fredrick immediately, he was waiting to see how crazy Fredrick will be before he heard the truth, then when he heard the truth, 'boom he'll go crazy." Diego thought to himself and started laughing.


Fredrick was wondering why he was laughing when he just asked him an important question. The whole thing was driving Fredrick crazy but he chose to be calm.


'The truth is I killed you father." Diego broke the news to Fredrick and started another round of laughter. Fredrick was shocked to hear what Diego said to him, he cheated his ears just maybe he is not hearing right.


'What are you saying?" Fredrick asked Diego, finding it hard to believe what Diego said to him.
