Chapter 16.



Earlier that day.


Ronaldo and Vanessa were on a drive to the mall, though he hasn't informed her about it.

"Are we going somewhere?" Vanessa asked.

"Yeah, the mall." Ronaldo replied.

"For what?" Vanessa asked.

"For you to pick up some nice outfit for you to be fully ready for the company." Ronaldo replied.

"C'mon Ric, I already had enough clothes, you are wasting too much money." Vanessa said.

"Was I asking for your permission?" Ronaldo asked biting his lower lips, she turn away quickly.

"That's what I thought." Ronaldo said and laughed.

He focused on the road and in no time, they arrived at the mall.

"Welcome to Brandy's collection." A fair tall looking lady said.

"Thanks, I want you to take her round and help her select your best outfit." Ronaldo said.

"At your service sir, comes with me beauty." The lady said and Ronaldo signaled her to follow her.

Vanessa smiled and followed her, the clothes there are very cute but very expensive, and the lady brought out a lot of it.

"This is way too much, and its cost a lot, maybe you should reduce it." Vanessa said.

"But your boyfriend said he will pay it all." The lady said.

Vanessa chuckled.

"He isn't my boyfriend, he is my special friend." Vanessa corrected.

"Oh my bad, I'm sorry, you both just look so perfect together, who knows what will happen later, are you sure you both are just friends?" The lady asked.

"Uhm, can I check some of the shoes?"

Vanessa said changing the topic.

"Sure, follow me." The lady replied.

"Gosh, she is so talkative, but she also said I'm beautiful which means that I'm not bad at all." Vanessa said in her mind excitedly.

After a while, they returned to where they left Dalton and he was pressing his phone.

"The clothes and shoes price are 580 pound's." The lady said.

"What! That's too much; I will go and reduce it." Vanessa said.

"Wait Vanessa, this is actually small, the price is not much, just go back there and add some more, I want you to look perfect Every time so no one will mock my African beauty." Ronaldo said and dragged her nose lightly.

"Ouch that hurts, and I'm not getting any more clothes, don't say anything, you won't change my mind." Vanessa ordered.

"Oh, Alright." Ronaldo replied rising his hands in surrender.

The lady blushed.

"You guys are so cute; I will go get this ready, just some Seconds." She said and catwalk out of the place while they wait.

"She talks a lot." Vanessa rolled her eyes.

"Because she said we look cute together? She is right after all, let's checking it out." Ronaldo said and brought out his phone and takes a selfie and showed it to her.

"You are way too whiter than I." Vanessa said.

"But you are way prettier than I; look at my big fat nose." Ronaldo said and laughed.

"C'mon dude, you are so handsome." Vanessa laughed holding his chin.

The lady returned with a bag.

Vanessa stretch her hand to collect it but Ronaldo stopped her.

"I get this." Ronaldo said and collects the bag instead, she smiled and they left the mall.

He out the bags in the car boots.

And returned to the car.

"Hope we are going straight home, I'm so tired." Vanessa said explaining it with her hands.

"No, we have to go to one more place, Restaurant." Ronaldo said.

"Aww Ric, I just want to sleep." Vanessa said.

"You can't convince me, I promise, just dinner and we will return home, I can't imagine myself cooking now after all the stressful day we had." Ronaldo said.

"You don't have to cook, I will cook, look Ric, you are spending too much money on me, which is wrong, you have saved me already, I'm not happy with the way you are spending." Vanessa said with a sad face.

"You didn't asked me too, and it's my money after all, this is London and not Mozambique, I work for the money I'm spending on you, I'm proud that I'm spending it on someone so special to me." Ronaldo said and Vanessa kept quiet.

"Did I say something wrong, I'm sorry?" Ronaldo said stopping the car.

"No it's nothing, I'm just imagining how my life will be if I haven't met you, I thank my stars for bringing you into my life, Ronaldo, you are so kind and I don't even know the words I will use to describe you, you are truly a rare gem." Vanessa said her eyes almost close to tears.

"I'm also lucky for meeting you, at least I won't have to be eating dinner all alone and spending my days at my house alone, so stars, thank you for bringing Vanessa to my life." Ronaldo said shoving his hands in the air.

"You are something else you know, let's go." Vanessa said and he continues driving.

Minutes later, they arrived at a classy restaurant; it's so big and golden.

"Let's go." He said and held her hand and they walked in.

"The VIP section please." He said to the receptionist.

"Sure sir, come with me." She replied and they followed her.

After a while, they arrived at a very beautiful designer table.

"Here is our VIP section; a waiter will join you to take your orders soon." The receptionist said.

"Thanks." Ronaldo replied and they take a seat while Vanessa stared with her jaws dropped.

"Wow, is this real? Or am I dreaming? This is so good to be true." Vanessa said.

"Well, you aren't dreaming, this is among the top five best restaurants in London, their food is so amazing." Ronaldo exclaimed.

The waiter joined them shortly.

"What will you like to offer Mr and Mrs?"

He asked giving them the menu.

"Just some chicken soup and fried rice, Vanessa what will you like order?" Ronaldo answered.

"I will take yours; I'm not familiar with all the foods here." Vanessa said.

"Okay, two plates of chicken soup and fried rice, with pineapple juice." Ronaldo said.

"Will be back shortly sir." The waiter said and left.

He later returned with their order and Ronaldo started eating, Vanessa watched him.

"Why aren't you eating?" Ronaldo asked.

"I don't know how to eat it." Vanessa replied.

"Okay, just like this." He fetched some and feed it to her.

"How does it taste?" Ronaldo asked.

"Interesting, I love it." Vanessa replied and he let her eat.

"So, is there something between Maria and you?" Vanessa asked.

"She asked me out once." Ronaldo said.

"How cheap, but does that means you guys are dating?" Vanessa asked.

"No, I told her I can't date her, she wasn't my type, so we remain friends but since then, she act possessive towards me which is really annoying." Ronaldo answered.

"But why isn't she your type? I mean, she is beautiful and well fitted." Vanessa said.

"You don't understand something Vanessa, what matters is what is in the inside not on the outside, she may be pretty but she is ugly outside, I can't imagine myself with her, she will make me sick." Ronaldo said and Vanessa laughed.

"You are so sweet Ronaldo and funny, but that Maria, she is so scary." Vanessa said.

"You shouldn't let her get to you." Ronaldo replied.

They continued eating and after everything, Ronaldo paid and Vanessa is so sleepy, she slept off right in the car immediately he started driving.

He watched her with a smile on his face.

"I promise you Vanessa, you won't lack anything." Ronaldo said while staring at her.

Minutes later, he arrived at home and parked at the parking Lott.

"Vanessa, we are home." He said tabbing her gently but she is so deep asleep.

"I have to carry her." Ronaldo thought and gently carried her putting her hands around his neck, he shoots the door with his leg and pressed his password and the door opened.

He turned on the light and headed upstairs to her room.

He gently laid her down, and turns to leave but she holds his hand.

He turned and she is still asleep.

"Mom, you don't have to go to groceries, I will go get everything, and I will also do the laundry, I will cook also and it will taste great." Vanessa said with a smile on her face still sleeping.

Ronaldo sat next to her and removes her hand from his.

"I knew this is still hard for you, but you are a strong girl, you will be able to get over this, and you will meet your mom again, I will try my best to make sure that happened Vanessa." Ronaldo said and covers her duvet, turns off the lights and existed the room to his room.

He lay on the bed immediately closing his eyes.

"Today was so stressful, but interesting, I hope tomorrow will be great too." Ronaldo said and slept off.



**The next day**

Vanessa's room.

She opened her eyes and found herself in the bed; she remembered how she slept off in the car,

"He brought me here I'm sure." She said and yawned, then rubs her eyes and stares at the watch.

"That's pretty early." She said.

She went to the bathroom and washed her teeth's then has her bath.

She decided to thank Ronaldo by cooking breakfast.

She went downstairs in search of the kitchen and it wasn't hard to locate.

She arrived at the kitchen and turn on the lights.

It's so big and cutely designed painted in lemon green.

She brought out all the ingredients and started cooking.



**Ronaldo's Room**

The alarm rings loudly waking Ronaldo up, he groan and stretch his body, then slipped his legs into his slippers and went to the bathroom, after washing his teeth and also had his bath.

He returned to his room and dressed up on black suit with white inner shirt.

He combed his cute hair and sprays some perfume.

"I woke up quite late; I have to order breakfast for us." He thought as he slips his watch to his wrist.

He then headed to Vanessa's room but she isn't there, he knocked at the toilet but she didn't answer.

He headed downstairs but she isn't there too.

"Where could she be?" He asked himself and heard some noise from the kitchen.

He walked to the kitchen and a sweet aroma blocked his nose, he inhaled deeply.

"Yummy!" He said enter ring the kitchen.

He saw her cooking and singing with earpiece in her both ears, she didn't even notice his presence and he watched her quietly admiring her.

She turned and she almost flinched.

"Sorry, I startled you." Ronaldo said.

"No is okay, I just didn't know you woke up." Vanessa replied.

"So, mind if I help you with something's?"

Ronaldo asked.

"No, you are all ready I won't want you to spoil your cute dress, trust me, I will be done in no time." Vanessa replied turning the heat.

"I insist." Ronaldo said.

"Okay, just take this to the dining table, and stay there while I finish up." Vanessa said.

"Okay ma." Ronaldo replied and carried the two plates to the dining table.

Vanessa continue cooking while he waited for her at the dining room.

Minutes later, she was done cooking and she dished it out on two plates and Walked to the dining room, she also made some chocolate coffee and settled down after arranging everything.

"I can't wait to taste this, it's sure gonna taste great." Ronaldo said.

"Maybe, I hope so." Vanessa replied.

Ronaldo took a bite and he closed his eyes.

"This taste so amazing." Ronaldo said and continues eating without stopping.

Vanessa smiled and also started eating.

After a while, they were done and she cleared the table.

"We are running late Vanessa, leave it and go dress up, I will handle the dishes." Ronaldo said.

"Okay, I will be right back." Vanessa replied.
