After she left, Rowan sent for Ray and he ran into the office in less than 5 seconds.
"You called for me sir"he said bowing his head. He had been waiting for his boss to call him after he saw Sapphire walk away with red face. " Boss is not in his right mind anymore " he said to himself and felt stupid that he informed Rowan of the dirty man.


"I have an assignment for you" Rowan said resting his back on the chair.

"What do you need my help for sir" Ray asked.

"Someone is threatening my life,I want you to trace the man that came today or do whatever you think is possible to have him trailed,He might lead you to the person. He seemed to know the person with the way he was acting then but i also wonder why he came all the way here to tell me that. Make sure to report to me every little step the man make.
If possible, take pictures and Videos when necessary. Nothing must be left out!" he said stressing every word.

Ray felt like a bombshell just landed on him! His boss was being threatened? Seeing the reaction of Rowan toward the matter made him realize the urgency and the weight of the matter. "Okay sir. I shall pull all strings and I'll make sure I get you the person" Ray said with determination in his voice.

Rowan raised an eyebrow and nodded his head in agreement with Ray. He trusted Ray and knew his capabilities. So, he wasn't worried about how the work would be done because he knew it would be done perfectly.

"That's all" He muttered and ordered him to leave but he stopped him before he child even turn to leave.. "and one more thing Ray, I don't want this spreading. You know this is a matter of my life, right?"he said, giving Ray a knowing look.

"Yes sir" Ray said and rushed out of the office.

Rowan sat back as the words of the man kept on playing in his head
"Someone is after your life"that sentence kept on ringing in his mind like a rhyme...

Rowan arrived at his home and sat down on the couch,today had been so stressful for him and he needed a cool bath and a long rest to get his mind to function well again.
He had never been so moved by a threat before. This was different and he hated it.
He relaxed is back on the couch and buried his face in his hands. " Argh!" He groaned silence.

Then, one of his maid walked over to him stood beside him, holding a box
"Sir, someone left a package for you"she said bowing her head.

"The package is from who?"he said, not raising his head to look at the maid.

"We don't Know sir"she said.

"Take it up to my room"he said sternly

"Ok sir"she bowed and left to carry the box to his room but then he changed his mind " Did the security check the box?" He asked the maid and she turned back.
" Yes sir. They said it's a robotic toy." She replied.
Rowan frowned a little and then smirked " A robotic toy?" He muttered and his smirk widened. He could already guess what it was and he could only smirk at the act.
Rowan stared at the box for a while and picked his phone to call Ray.
"Any information?" Rowan asked with curiosity in his voice and with hope in his stoic mind. He really was so desperate to know who was after his life and the identity of the person. He needed to know it in order to learn more about his hidden enemy.

There was silence at the other end of the call for a while before Ray decided to reply but his silence already gave Rowan his reply. "No Information yet sir and the man is dead"

" Really? He is dead?"Rowan asked as his lips curved up in a devilish smile. " Did you see who killed him?" He asked.

" Yes and we tried to capture them but they shot themselves in the head and died before we were able to capture them. " Ray replied.

" Wow!" Rowan was impressed at the competency of his killer. " I need information as soon as possible"Rowan said and ended the call there.
" Now, let's check what he sent!" He mumbled to himself.

Rowan stood up and walked to his room, when he entered he saw the box on his desk
"Wondering who you are but you are quite impressive. "he said, unwrapping the box.
He picks up the short letter which said"BE CAREFUL"

This made Rowan smile as he tore the letter and picked the content of the box.
It was a toy,he turned on the action figure toy and it started talking

"DON'T TRY TO FIND OUT WHO I AM IF YOU WANT TO BE SAFE"then the toy turned off..

Rowan was so amused that he burst out laughing as if he just saw the best joke of his life.. the person might think he was threatening Rowan not knowing that he was just making a fool out of himself and he was making Rowan learn more about him.

"Why his he being a kid and hiding his identity,he should face me like a real man"he said, dropping the toy on the table and he moved away..

Rowan was so amused at the stupidity of the one threatening his life. He wanted to into more about the person and putting together all he had done for today, Rowan believed he already knew some things about the man and that might help him plan in the future.

He pulled his clothes, still smiling. revealing his bare and attractive chest,his masculine figure was so attractive,no one could wonder such a cold man could be this good looking... if only he could use his looks in his business... he would really become a monster who would be really untouchable!.

He pulled off his entire clothes and went into the shower..
"Aggggh, firstly sapphire came into the picture and now someone sending me life threats"he said like he was telling a funny story to the cold water hitting his body like needles.

After taking a long cold shower he felt a little relaxed but no matter how much he tried to forget it, the threat kept on ringing in his head and he really wanted to meet the person. A part of him felt sapphire was behind this but he doubted it once more.
"I keep on doubting,it can't be her she wouldn't do such just to acclaim power, but I'm still not taking chances"he said and picked up his phone to call Ray.
"Monitor sapphire for some time,I have a feeling she might have something to do about the threat,after all she's is my opponent and can do anything to get the position. Also, find out if she is getting some threat messages too... I'm having this feeling that the threat might actually have something to do with the conglomerate." He said and ended the call.

"I understand sir" Ray replied.

"Good" he said and the call ended.

Rowan couldn't sleep well, not because of the threat but because he was anxious to know who was threatening him.

Sapphire was boiling in anger as she recalled what happened earlier today.
"He's so full of himself, he just made a fool out of me"she said to herself as she was gallivanting around in her room.

She hated his guts,he never lost an opportunity to belittle her, thinking she wasn't capable which made her mad.

She wasn't going to let go of that position,if for any reason but to prove him wrong.

Old lan sat dejectedly about to make a video to declare he was just trying to frame and defame Rowan.
"Hello everyone I'm here to make a confession,I actually framed Rowan,I was just trying tarnish his image.." he was talking like a robot who was forced to talk. He wanted to make it look like Rowan had forced him to it so that he could make a comeback later and deny the video.
At that moment sapphire walked in and frowned when she saw what old lan was doing.
"What are you doing?" She asked with a raised brow.
"I'm just making a confession, wasn't that what you said Rowan took in exchange to release me from jail?" He asked, a little annoyed. Not at Sapphire actually but at Rowan who was taking advantage of his situation.

"You still don't believe me when I say I did nothing for Rowan to get you released,you have known me for a long time, have I ever acted like a slut because you keep on thinking I gave Rowan my body in exchange for him to release you" she said flaring up, she hated the fact that he didn't believe her. He didn't say it but the look in his eyes was that of a father that lost his daughter to a wild beast and she hated it. Rowan wasn't a beast... ( winks)

"Well Rowan is a very cunning man,he can't just release me for that cause"he said defending his claims..

"Think anything you want, but nothing happened the way you're thinking it happened,I'm already in a bad mood already and i don't need you adding to it"she said angrily before leaving the room and slamming the door behind her.

Old lan was shocked at her attitude and outburst. She was okay while she was leaving this morning and Old Lan thought she had won something big but why the attitude again?

After sapphire came out of the room, tears fell from her eyes,she had never felt this sad and miserable before.

"No,I don't need this tears,he got exactly what he wanted.I need a new assistant as soon as possible"she said as she went into her room and slammed the door.
"There's a meeting with the board today,I need to cancel other meetings"Rowan said to Ray.

"Okay sir, but do you think it's safe for you to go out now? Don't you think you should stay home for now and observe how the man will act? "he asked hoping his boss won't get angry and that he would reconsider his schedule for the day but was Rowan such a person?
absolutely Not!.
Rowan dropped his pen and did his tie well. "I'm not going to give up a position because of a threat" He paused and fall into a deep thought for a while before his lips curved up into a well sketched evil smile... "but when I find out the asshole behind this, I'll kill him. He doesn't know who he's messing with"he added with a devilish smile that he looked so dangerous at that moment.

"Yes sir. No one is capable of taking your life"Ray said in defense of his boss. He secretly sighed and sent a message without Rowan knowing.
" I must protect you at all cost, boss." He said inwardly.

Rowan stood up and moved away from his seat "Any news on who the person is?" He asked, adjusting his collar.

"Not yet sir. The person is really good at covering his tracks. He must be an expert in this job." Ray commended the person. Ray, even without Rowan's influence had many men at his disposal whom he could send to find whomever he wanted to send but the man was just so perfect that even his men could not find him no matter how hard they tried and it got him a bit worried but he trusted Rowan and he wasn't going to leave Rowan without any secret body guards either.

"Nonsense! How long will it take you to get me something? Just a hint that would leave us to that jerk!"he asked with a creased brow. Seeing how it was difficult for his men to get the man, he realized the man was really not just an ant but someone he should really take serious and be careful about.

"We'll get to it soon sir." Ray assured him gently. He would really get to the root of the matter and make sure to give the jerk exactly what he deserved.

"You better do or you will really make me scared.. scared that the man might really have me killed." he said looking at the time like he was cracking a joke. Whereas, Ray shivered involuntarily at the thought of his dear boss being killed.
Rowan didn't know but Ray saw him as a brother and a friend he never had and he really cherished him a lot. Which was why he would go to any extent to protect him even if it meant pulling all strings.
