Deep down, Sapphire felt like exploding. She wanted to shout at him but then, what would people take her for. A mad lady? And while she looked angrily at his direction, he just waved and zoomed off. What kind of human was she in the fight with. Honestly, he was good. Extremely good with his moves. Sapphire already felt exhausted from all the drama and the twist, she walked up to her car and paused a while, then gave out a deep breath before entering the car.


'What happened?" the driver asked as he noticed her mood.


"It is nothing. I am fine. Just drive to the police station. I need to know what's going on there." Sapphire urged and relaxed her head on the car seat.

Asking if she was scared? Yes! Her fear was getting bigger. The flash back of what happened during the meeting. How Old Lan presented everything, even how Roman got arrested and dragged out of the meeting room. She never thought in her life that Roman would be out so quickly. It wasn't up to an hour he left the company with the police men. Who is Roman and how come he has so much authority and to every, he is like a God. A no ordinary man.

'We are here!" The driver mentioned as he saw how carried away she looked. She didn't know they were actually at the front of the police station. They were few police men outside the building and there eyes glance around as he drove in.

'Where?" Sapphire asked as she almost forgot everything.

'The police station." The driver reminded her. She then pitched herself to stay comported.

'Oh, i almost forgot. I shouldn't be thinking of him too much. I should focus more on correcting all this errors. But how and where did Old Lan get the video from? I need to know what next to do. All this is really driving me insane." She thought inwardly while rubbing her forehead. She was beginning to get headache.

Sapphire opened the car and got out. She walked straight to the door and walked up to the first police officer she came in contact with.

'Please I am Miss Sapphire Medlock, my secretary Lan was arrested not long ago. He was sent to this station." Sapphire said.

'Okay. You have to wait. The Commissioner of Police is still inside. We are sorry but you can't see him now. Maybe later in the day or tomorrow." The officer uttered and it made her more angrier. She hate to wait. She thought of an idea. If Roman can influence the Commissioner to work with him, then she can also. She has the money and authority too. She was also capable

'I want to meet with the Commissioner of Police. Tell him I do wish to have a word with him." Sapphire had just finished when she heard a voice from behind.

'What for Miss Sapphire?" The commissioner's voice was heard as he walked up to where she stood with the police officer she was talking to.

'I wish to talk with you concerning my secretary." Sapphire spoke fearlessly. Though she was a bit scared but it didn't matter, 'How much did he pay you?" She asked.

The commissioner wasn't stupid, he knew exactly who Sapphire was referring to. He was annoyed with her question. She lacked manners and it irritated him. Only if she wasn't a woman, he would have given a blow straight to the face. How dare she try to humiliate him in front of everyone by asking such question.

Honestly, Roman did not pay him a dim. He was called to investigate the man and that was lawful. It was because of the respect he has on Roman that made him obey his every order. That young man was wealthy but not a criminal.

Sapphire however knew what she said was totally rude and disrespectful but, she cared less about that. After all, she has the money and can control anyone like Roman. At least, that was what she thought.

'Miss Sapphire, if I were you, i will mind how i talk. Your secretary already confessed and luckily, he said you had no clue about it. So would you excuse me, I have more important things to do than just stand here." He looked her up and down before walking out. Obviously, he was vexed. She talked with no respect. Heavens saved her with a feminine body.

Before Sapphire arrived at the police station. The Commissioner had Old Lan taken to the interrogation room immediately. There he was handcuffed and forced to tell the truth of which he did. He also mentioned the person who helped him make the video. He always hated Roman and when he got told about the meeting, he thought of it as a great idea to ruin Roman's reputation but too bad for him as it didn't end well.

'Are you sure, you are not trying to protect her because if you are. I will fish it out and make sure you you suffer even more with her." The commissioner paused and turned to the other officers, 'You all heard his confession. Go and get me those monsters while I call Roman to give him the news." He finished and the officers saluted.

While the Commissioner of Police was leaving, Sapphire couldn't believe what she heard. So truly, Old Lan did dirty to help her. But, how was she going to help him out. For sure, Roman was going to use this against her. He would drag her to the mud and won't rest until her clothes get dirty. She had to do something. At least, talk the Commissioner to release him. So, she ran after him. She was already tired and her legs ached in the heels.

'Sir, sir!" She called as she ran after him. Her heels made racket as she hurried to meet up. He was just at the entrance when she caught up with him.

The commissioner turned to see who was coming after him and when his eyes met with Sapphire, he frowned.

'What do you want? I am in a haste and do not have all the time in the world. Be quick with whatever you have to say." He was trying to calm himself.

'Sir, please, what can be done to bail him. He can't sleep in cell. He is too old to." Sapphire tried to convince the Commissioner but he looked even more not interested.

'Sorry Miss, there is absolutely nothing i can do. It is all in Mr. Roman's hand. Since it was all against him and the confession proved it. Mr. Roman will be the best person to ask that. And i guess you know the result already." he looked her up and down before turning to leave. Sapphire just watched him walk away. When Roman's name was mentioned, she felt scared. Like her nightmares were coming true. It was the worst feeling ever. What was she going to do? Suddenly, she turned back.

'Sir, please, what can be done to bail him. He can't sleep in cell. He is too old to." Sapphire tried to convince the Commissioner but he looked even more not interested.

'Sorry Miss, there is absolutely nothing i can do. It is all in Mr. Roman's hand. Since it was all against him and the confession proved it. Mr. Roman will be the best person to ask that. And i guess you know the result already." he looked her up and down before turning to leave. Sapphire just watched him walk away. When Roman's name was mentioned, she felt scared. Like her nightmares were coming true. It was the worst feeling ever. What was she going to do? Suddenly, she turned back.
Sapphire talked with some officers and they granted her access to meet with Old Lan. She was walking along side an officer, and when the door flipped opened, she felt sorry for him. She ran to him and checked his body like she was some sort of medical professional. There she saw some bruises on him and furrowed her brow.

'Roman!" She whispered under her breath. She was so annoyed. If it wasn't for Roman, she would have gotten the conglomerate and also won't be undergoing all the stress.

'How are you my dear?" Old Lan asked as Sapphire wrapped her hand around Old Lan. Though she always complained but, she loved him so much. He has been there all her life. For him to spend a day in cell, was heartbreaking.

'I am not fine." Sapphire replied honestly, 'I wish you could come home with me. But why did you go that far? Though I know you always wanted to assist me and help me through my challenges but Roman is like a devil. It would be difficult for anyone to do something to him and go scot free with it." She had to air her thoughts, not minding if the officer could hear her, 'But I will surely get you out of here, through one means or the other." She swore and held tight onto his hand.

'Time's up! You may leave now miss." The office approached the desk.

Roman drove straight home. He was so excited about everything. From the shock on their faces when he walked back in and when the old criminal was arrested. He drove pass his gate and stepped out of his car.

'Welcome sir!" A man greeted with a bow.

'Yeah." The man on suit handed his boss's briefcase to the man.

Just as Roman was few steps away from entering his house, his phone rang and the man on suit, Jack, picked up the call.

'Yes, he is here." Jack responded and handed the phone over to his boss, 'It is the Commissioner of Police, sir." He added.

'Hello, my friend. What news do you have for me already?" Roman asked as he suspected the result was out but, certainly it was too soon. He couldn't believe it.

'We got the old man to confess his crime. And right now, I have sent some of the officers to go in search of his allies. The game was a big one. He truly wanted your downfall. You should be careful. And he claimed his Madam, Miss Sapphire, has nothing to do with it." The Commissioner said over the phone.

Roman smile was bold and he just smirked. Old Lan was a loyal master from what he saw and if Sapphire had any hand in it, he won't mention. From the research done, he has been with Sapphire ever since she was a little girl. They were like father and daughter. On most of her pictures, he was seen together with her and all her celebrated occasions, the man was present. Then, how on Earth was he going to drag Sapphire along.

Roman thought for a while. It was actually good. Since the truth was out, he could use the old man to control Sapphire into stepping down. It was better and preferable. It was the best idea ever. His smile was evil, even Jack felt uncomfortable and swallowed hard.

'That is good!" Roman finally answered.

'And again, Mrs. Sapphire came to the station and tried to make her way through. Though she has nothing to do with the case according to her secretary, i still asked some men to keep an eyes on her. Just incase she tries anything funny." The commissioner was sincere. He somehow hated Sapphire for her manners. She has respect for no one and talking about her gets him annoyed just thinking about what she said to him at the station. She concluded it to be a bribe. He was a man of dignity and he knew Roman too well. Though Roman was a scarecrow, he won't dare to go against the law.

'Uhmm... She did?!" Roman placed his other hand into his pocket. He has been standing at the entrance for long. He didn't mind. As far as it was good news, he felt rather excited.

'Yes sir. But do not worry yourself too much." The commissioner suggested.

'Thank you." Roman remembered the officers that arrested him, 'I hope the officers were the once that interrogated him?" He asked and the Commissioner burst out laughing.

'I heard about everything and yes. I assigned them to join me. The female officer that pointed her gun at you did a job well done. I love her zeal to eliminate unlawful acts and her intolerance to crimes." The commissioner stated.

'Okay then." Roman said and sighed, 'Thanks once again."

'Always at your service." The commissioner pledged before the call ended.

Roman gave the phone back to Jack before entering his house. He was tired and needed to bath. At least, to chill a little from all the drama of the day. He was tired but not tired. In fact, ever since Sapphire came into the picture, it has always been one drama or the other. His only excitement was the fact that, he was leading. He was once a bit scared at Sapphire because she was different from other women. She looked serious and acted so. But with their stupid moves, he knew their failure was near.
