Chapter 135 - Kill them all

**Hopes pov**

The information we received seemed correct. It was a large mansion with high brick walls around it , a large gate at the end of a dense oak avenue as the only entrance. The information we received was that this evening there would be a gathering, a big party to celebrate and mourn comrades who fell victim to the monsters they hunted recently. We stayed hidden in the shade and trees as we watched the guests pour in. The most expensive limousines and sports cars were stopped at the gates to display identifications and invitations.
“We’ll wait until everyone has arrived, I don’t want to risk missing any stragglers.” Ambrogio spoke with weight in his voice like the seasoned war veteran he was after all.
“Callum, are you okay?” I couldn’t hold it any longer, his silent tense figure made me feel uneasy.
“Yeah…I’m okay…just nerves before a fight.
“Sure? You’d tell me if it was something else, wouldn’t you?”
“He relaxed a bit and smiled as he put a strand of my hair behind my ear.
“Be careful in there, okay…don’t jump into anything that puts you or the pup at risk…I wouldn’t survive if something happened to you….”
“I promise if you promise…”I kissed him lightly and looked into the blue eyes I loved so much.
“No new guest has arrived in fifteen minutes.” Brad came jogging up to us. I saw the hungry smile on Ambrogio as the information reached him. He turned and looked over our assembled crowd, wolves and vampires.
“Tonight we put an end to the hunters once and for all. We’ve all suffered from them over the years, tonight we’ll get payed for our losses in blood. We’ll do it quickly, clean, and we’ll spare no one!"
“But Ambrogio...” I had seen women coming on mens arms among the guests.
“No one is spared!” He repeated the words more firmly, not intending to enter into an argument.
“First line, prepare!” Everyone listened and obeyed his commands. I watched as Callum went over to Anton’s father, gave his command and to my surprise gave the man a manly thump on the back.
We all watched as he stepped out onto the road and started walking towards the gate, when he came within sight of the guards he began to rattle like he was drunk.
“Party! I love a good party!”
“Get out of here drunk, it’s a private gathering.” The guards rolled their eyes and didn’t pay much attention to him.
“Come on, I can pay, no one will notice one more person, please, I really feel like partying!” He slurred a bit and waved a thick wad of bills as his feet did a couple of bad moonwalks. However, this caught the guards’ interest. They whispered something to each other and grinned. A door next to the gate opened and the two guards stepped out.
“You’re not allowed in, but we’d be happy to free you from that bundle.” Anton’s father took a few steps back and the guards followed.
“Come on guys, you don’t want to do this…you’re going to lose.” The guards laughed loudly at the words they heard.
“How much have you been drinking, anyway? You’re alone and barely able to stand on your feet. Give us the money and get out of here and you won’t get hurt. They moved around him and he moved in the opposite direction and soon he was standing with his back to the gate as a barrier between it and the guards.
“I warned you guys...” They laughed again but when he didn’t move anymore they fell silent and looked blankly at each other. He shifted in a few seconds and suddenly he was standing there, as a wolf in front of them, they didn’t have time to scream or run before he attacked and finished them off.
The first line of vampires moved towards the gate, they were impressively quiet and agile. They got through the door and soon they had opened the gates wide and signaled to the rest of us to come. From the gate up to the great mansion were large lawns with more oaks and trimmed boxwood bushes, many shady places that made us invisible. When everyone was inside, the gates were closed and locked with an extra chain, so no one could escape.
We covered the first stretch together, then we broke up into smaller groups and soon we had surrounded the house.
“Hope, everyone will attack at your signal.” Callum stood next to me, waiting.
*Luna, whatever happens on the ground, your first and most important job is to protect our baby, okay?* The warm feeling of her spread through my body and I knew she would prioritize the baby above everything else. I focused my hearing towards the house. I could hear low music from what I suspected was a live string orchestra. Happy voices that spoke, glasses that were toasted. At least they die happy. I tried to console myself with the thought to justify the carnage that was seconds away. I closed my eyes and took a couple of deep breaths. I returned to Abigail’s memories, to my time as a prisoner, to my father’s revelation of how he slaughtered wolves of all ages and of the plans he had for us. I tilted my head back and let a loud howl leave my throat.
Our wave stormed forward from all sides. People who tried to escape quickly met their fate. Just seconds into the attack, guns began to fire. We had expected this, after all they were hunters and not likely to go unarmed. I felt the pain in my chest as soon as we lost someone, luckily it wasn’t many. Women huddled under tables and in corners, weeping and begging for mercy. Of no use. The children of the night were more than willing to end their suffering. I saw a group of men leave the great hall we were in, led by none other than my father. The chairs around the table...only they could be so cowardly and cruel as to leave their loved ones to be slaughtered while they themselves got away.
“There, the right long wall!” I called out to get both Callum’s and Ambrogio’s attention, and I succeeded. We moved towards it but it was slow, bodyguards and low-ranking hunters pouring in from all directions. I could see that Reece had shifted and Chase was doing a good job. Jesse was still fighting in his human form. His parkour training came in handy, he danced over bodies and furniture as he fought. He had also got hold of a weapon and several hunters met their end by a bullet instead of sharp claws and teeth. Zandra stayed close to me, she and Luna had done this before and I could feel that they enjoyed protecting each other again. Her coat stopped whining bullets and her hands played with the elements around us, she created whirlwinds from the air, firestorms from the candelabra candles on the tables…She was really impressive. We were soon at the door and quickly made our way through, Zandra, me, Callum, Ambrogio and Brad, I could hear more coming behind us. The corridor on the other side was empty but led to a pair of solid wooden doors so we stormed forward. I had thought that the doors would lead to a room, the room with the table as well, but they led to another hall, a much smaller one. It was round with several exits.
“Find them!” Ambrogio shouted the command to his children who immediately ran past us sniffing for fresh blood. Doors opened and more hunters poured out. All doors...except for one.
“Callum!” I yelled to get his attention, unfortunately I caused more damage when the hunter he was fighting stabbed him as he shifted his focus to me.
“CALLUM!” I was cold inside when I saw the blood oozing from the wound in his stomach. Luna took over, grinding and throwing herself at the hunter. Only when he layed lifeless on the floor beneath her did she handed the control back to me.
“Callum, baby…are you okay?” I was half shifted, my body was once again covered in fur, Luna’s ears and tail were still there and neither my hands or feet were completely human.
“Aaah...that fucking hurts...Come on Beacon, work a little faster!” He clenched his jaws and growled at the wolf within him and soon I could see the gaping wound starting to heal in front of me. I knew it wasn’t really that easy. Even though Beacon stopped the bleeding and patched up the wound on the surface, it was still open on the inside, and the bacteria he couldn’t do anything about..
“Hold on baby, stay with me... I’m pretty sure we need to get through that door.” I pointed to the door that had remained closed.
”I’m okay, go, I’ll be there soon, just need a few more seconds.” I gave him a deep kiss before looking around. I couldn’t see Reece, I’d need to find him..there’s Jesse!
“Jesse!” After checking that he had the upper hand in the fight he was in, I shouted. He finished his opponent in a very bloody fashion and he squeezed the juice out of the mans heart as he walked towards me. I had never seen him like that before, wildly aggressive, like the rogues I had only heard about. He came up to us and Luna growled and focused her aura at him. At first he didn’t seem to care, he still had the wild expression in his eyes and was a bit like in a trance. It was odd, standing against Luna’s aura was painful for any wolf. She growled louder and he flinched, immediately crouching and bared his neck.
“Watch over them!” It wasn’t my command, it was Luna’s. She wanted Jesse to make sure Callum and Beacon were safe until she returned.
“Zandra, Ambrogio! This way!” I only had to call once, they both reacted to my voice, and together we approached the closed door.
