Chapter 85 - Caught

**Hopes pov**

I slip out through the glass door. The fresh air hits me and I take a few deep breaths, the smell of forest and water fills my mind and I close my eyes for a few seconds. The sun has set and the stars adorn the sky above me. I can neither see nor hear anyone in the yard, but I still push myself against the wall as I move away from the door. I can quickly see that I can’t escape from here, the brick walls are far too high and even if I managed to climb a bit with Luna’s help, gravity would eventually win over my muscles and I would fall. The only way I could take was back inside. But not yet, I have the chance to contact Callum and I’m bursting with longing. I continue to make my way along the wall and finally reach a couple of large green bushes, rhododendrons perhaps? I make myself as small as I can and crawl under them, the branches don’t give me much room but in the end I manage to make myself somewhat comfortable. I close my eyes and concentrate, begging Selene to carry my voice to Callum.
“ Callum?..Can you hear me?” It didn’t even take a second for his wonderful voice to answer me.
“ Hope! Thank Goddess! How can you link?” I hear the same longing I feel in his voice.
“ I escaped, atleast for now, I’m still trapped but I found a court yard without a roof..I miss you so much Callum, I don’t know how much time I have, please tell me you have a plan!”
“ I do, we do. We know where you are and how to get to you” He told me about Jesse and the scouts, the allied packs, Ambrogio, Fredrick and the girl in the lab. He also told me about what happened with David and the Low Falls pack and I can feel Lunas disappointment inside.
“ I killed two men today, just a short while ago..”
“ Are you okay? What happened? “ I told him everything that went down in the shower and I could feel his anger through the bond.
“ I’m so sorry you had to go through that baby, but I am glad they are dead..how are you doing?..with the blood loss?” He almost sounded afraid to ask.
“I’m hanging in there, they cut it in half. There is something else you need to know, about my father.”
“Yeah, I know he was one of those bastards, we figured it out after your mother saw a picture of there crest.”
“ Not was..is..He is the leader of the fraction, the big boss if you will and his plans are frightening” I tell him about the plans to separate the wolf spirit from werewolves, turning them to humans.
“He wants to do it to me, he wants to kill Luna.”
“Fuck!..that is sick! We need to get you out of there faster than we planned..we will figure it out baby, I will call Tony right away..Fuck! I will fucking kill all of them!” Both he and Beacon were heard now, really upset and I can see it in front of me, him pacing the room running his hands through his hair.
“Callum..can you stand in front of a mirror and do the live feed thing? I really need to see you.” I asked. He was silent for a few seconds but them the vision came through and my heart broke a little. He had dark circles under his eyes, he looked pale and hadn’t shaved for days.
“Callum, can you do something for me?”
“Of course! Anything!”
“Sleep..you need to sleep..and you need a shower and a shave. You need to take care of yourself or you won’t be strong when you need to be..can you do that for me?” He slowly nods and I can tell how hard it is for him, his eyes turns shiny with tears and the muscles in his jaws are twitching.
“I promise I will take a shower and I will sleep tonight..but you really don’t like the beard? Are you sure? I think it looks manly..” He gives me a sad smile and I love him even more for trying to make a joke in this situation.
“Nope..the beard needs to go..anything that keeps me from touching your skin in a big no no for me” Before we can say anything more, an alarm goes off. It echoes throughout the building and I understand that they have realized that I am gone. Either they found the two dead idiots or the unconscious man woke up.
“ Callum, I dont have much time, there is an alarm..they know I’m on the run.”
“ Stay with me for as long as you can..please Hope..” I nod in silence, I’m not planning to cut the link before I have to. I crawl out of the bushes, its no point hiding, they will find me anyway. I hear boots running in the hall on the other side of the glass door..boots and..paws..dogs, they brought dogs..this could be fun. I strip out of my clothes and quickly shift. I tilt my head back and howl. The brick walls around me is carrying the sound and amplifies it. Before the wolves in the forest outside can answer I stop them. I widen my link with Callum, try to reach as many as I can and I put it on vision, showing them my whereabouts.
“Don’t answer, don’t let them know you are here but know I am still with you” Tons of emotions comes running back through the link. Love, support and respekt. I turn towards the door just in time for it to open. First, two guards arrive, each with a Rottweiler on a leash. The dogs growl and bark, drool splatters from their mouths and they try to tear themselves off the leash to attack me. Stupid dogs. Luna lets out a loud growl and just as quickly as they came rushing through the door, the dogs are now fighting to get back in, tails between their legs. A resounding cheer comes through the link from everyone watching. The two guards step aside and Mr Landrover and my father comes out with four more armed guards, all of them aiming their rifles at me. Mr. Landrover looks at me with disgust in his eyes and I growl and show him my fangs in response. I would really like to tear him to pieces after what he did. He was the one who ordered the men to take me to the shower, he probably ordered the way they treated me as well.
“Hope..can you focus on me please?” My father say to get my attention. I look at him and snort.
“Hope, can you please put your wolf away? Can we talk for a while?” he pleads. Put my wolf away? Luna growls again, offended, and I see the guards grip on their weapons tightens.
“Please Hope, you have no where to go from here, even if you manage to get past us you won’t get far and by then I won’t be there to protect you” He is right, if it was up to Mr Landrover, I would already be pumped full with led.
“Callum, do you see this?”
“ I do..and I think you better do as he ask for now. I don’t want you to get hurt Hope.”
“ I will, than is Mr Bugatti, my father..The one with the beer belly is Mr Landrover, the asshole I told you about.”
“Good to know..to me they just look like two dead men walking” Callum says with anger in his voice. I let my eyes linger at the disgusting man and he is starting to get uncomfortable. I see a few drops of sweat forming on his temple. As if trying to hide how nervous he is, Mr. Landrover clears his throat and speaks.
“Miss Hope stop this at once! You are acting like a dirty animal! Mr Bugatti has been kind to you but we can just as easy make your time here very uncomfortable.” Is he kidding me? I take a step forward and growl again, this time a little loader and only at him. My claws are digging into the ground as I hold Luna back from attacking him. My father steps in between us and to my surprise he puts his hand on the side of my head.
“ Hope, please..can you shift so we can talk?” His voice is softer, like he is talking to a dog.
“Callum, I will go inside now, so the link will break..please hurry, him being this kind is scary, I don’t know when he will want to start the experiment.”
“ I will babe..be careful, don’t give them a reason to hurt you..I love you Hope..so fucking much!” I feel a lump in my throat, I don’t want to leave the link, I want to stay until I feel his arms around me again.
“I love you to..”
I look down at the men in front of me and with my head held high I push pass them in to the corridor without shifting. I hear a sigh behind me but no one says anything, they follow me silently. Luna’s body fills the space in the corridor and I can’t help but giggle to myself as I hear the men’s awkward and irregular heartbeats. At the first door on the way back I feel like testing its strength, could I force it open? But I avoid it, instead I stand still and wait for someone to get past me to use their key card. One of the guards gets the honor and as he stands with his back to me I point my nose at him and snort, my hot breath hits him on the back of the neck and he jumps, the light leaving his throat makes him sound like a little girl and I laughing out loud inside. This is really fun. “Miss Hope! That will be enough!” Mr. Landrover is barking at me in the background. Unlucky for him, he’s in perfect range of my tail. I wave once and slap him right across the face. The door clicks open and we continue our way back to my room..atleast I think that is where we are headed.
A couple of hours later, I'm lying in my bed staring at the ceiling and thinking about what my father told me.
