Chapter 14 1/2 - Do I make myself clear?
Callums pov
After a couple of hours I slide the door open, just a little. I dont hear anything but her calm breathing. Her arousal is still lingering, but it’s faint. I walk over to my closet, pulling on a pair of sweatpants, before I crash down on my couch. I turn my head so I can see Hope in my bed. Her face relaxed on the pillow, her chest rising and sinking steady under the blanket i put over her. One of her arms is resting on top and I look at her hand and her slender fingers, her short but pretty nails. On her middle finger there is a gold ring, its kind of big, like a man’s signet ring. Fear creeps up on me. Does she have a boyfriend? A man in her life? What was I thinking taking her? I dont know anything about her, what is her last name? How old is she? Shit, what if she is a minor! I will have the police knocking on my door! I took her away from her life, her friends, family and work or school without a thought. I put my pillow over my head and groan.
I dread waking up in the morning, what will she do? What will she think of me? I basicly kidnapped her. Will she hate me? Fear me? The thought make me nauseous, I just have to explain everything to her, as simple as that, she will understand right? She must feel Lunas spirit stirring inside of her, right? Ghaa!.I am about to tell a human girl, woman, that she has a wolfspirit bound in her, that she is really a werewolf and her destiny is to fight the Father of vampires. Nah, she will not freak out, atleast not before I tell her I will have to bite down her neck deep and hard to unbind her, the spirit, whatever, because I am her mate, her other half picked by the Goddess herself, and then she will enter her heat and become so horny that she don’t want to leave the bedroom for days. Shit, shit , shit!!! Callum you dumb fuck!!! What have you done???
My head is spinning. I close my eyes and exhausted fall asleep.
When I wake up I hear the rain against the window. I stare at the ceiling for a wile before I sit straight up turning my head to the bed.
She still sleeps. I stand up and walk over to the bed. Goddess she is beautiful, I could watch her for hours…if my bladder wasnt full. As I walk to the bathroom I feel my body is sore and stiff..fighting all males last night i suppose..or having to help myself in the bathroom several times maybe.. I will have to deal with the males and I will have to do it quickly. If Luna wakes up and they feel her arousal again…I dont want to think about the outcome.
I link Reece to gather all unmated males at the town hall in thirty minutes.
I watch out over the crowd. They all have their heads down. The males from last night knows why they are here, the rest can feel the tension in the air and that’s enough for not wanting to challenge anything.
I clear my throat, showing I want their attention.
“Last night something happened. I brought home my mate, your future Luna.” I start, watching the reactions amongst the young wolves in front of me. Some were ashamed, realizing what they had try to do, others hopeful and amazed that their alpha finally found his mate, the alpha who doesn’t belive in mates in the first place.
“The girl I brought home doesn't know about our kind…she doesn’t know she has a wolf..a wolf that is in somewhat heat..but not really, but she still sends that signal out..its a complexed situation and its hard to explain but you will all find out soon enough and it will all become clear”..The people in front of me look more confused than ever, looking at eachother scratching their heads.
“The reason I want to gather you all here is that I want you to know..and I am addressing both you and your wolves, the next one who makes a move to try to claim my mate will wish for death.” I kept my voice calm and I’m letting the words sink in.
“Am I making my self clear? And before you answer, make sure your wolf is on the same page. If not, I will make it so…I ask again, Do.I.Make.My.Self.Clear???”
“Yes Alpha!!!” The crowd in the room answered unanimously.
The following days I tried to concentrate on pack business. I read all the reports on the vamps, on the missing humans, on the human hunters, on the packs across the globes..reports I normally leave to Reece. I trained the pack every morning, I spent every night in the bathroom taking cold showers.
On day four, after the third night I was getting kind of worried.
Hope was still asleep, Luna was stirring so that calmed me a bit. But she needs to wake up, to eat and to drink. Her phone beeped a few times on day one, I answered a couple of texts and said she had the flu feeling like an ass doing it, but then it went out of battery. I thought about charging it but maybe she would think I was invading her private life even more if I did that..or maybe she would think it was cute and caring?…I really dont know what I’m doing…
“Zandra!” I call through the link
“Yes Alpha?”
“I’m starting to freak out..she doesn’t wake up! What if she dies of dehydration?!”
“She wont, Luna wont let her” Zandra answers in a calm voice.
“This is bat shit insane! If she is not waking up tomorrow, I will call the doctor!” I close the link and start walking wall to wall in my office. This crazy hag..what kind of shit has she gotten me in to?..So much can go wrong..has gone wrong…
I empty my whiskey glass, the fifth actually, and get ready for another night of icy showers.
