Chapter 57 - Magda

**Hopes pov**

We both flew out of bed and looked out the window. On this side we couldn’t se anything.
“Reece, talk to us! “ Callum shouted through the link.
“ I don’t know, yet..it seems to have come from the cells” he answered.
I grabbed the first clothes I could see, it was a training-set but I didn’t care. Callum did the same and we were running down the stairs a few seconds later, Maya and Reece met us on the way, Cathy is already holding the front door open.
“ Maya, I need you to stay here.” Reece said as he stopped and turned to her.
“ I agree with him ” I said as she looked to me, searching for support. She pouted but nodded, returning to the stairs.
Several of the warriors linked us as we left the packhouse, the explosion did came from the prison, and it was a massive one so we took of in that direction.
We don’t get any reports of attacks on our people, not by vampires, not by rogues, but when we reach the prison its clear, they are both in on it. This was not an attack on our pack, this was a rescue mission for Fredrick. They were standing in our way, forming a wall between us and the prison and there was no doubt about it, this was both kinds. I could see the pale faces and the hollow eyes of the vampires. I could also see the matted unkempt fur of the rogue wolves. Luna whined in my head, hurt by the sight in front of us. A woman walks through the wall, she is beautiful and undoubtedly a wolf. Her long red hair is pulled back into a tight, high ponytail and sways back and forth across her back as she walks. Her eyes are light brown with large pupils that resemble bottomless wells. Her lips are full and match the color of her hair. In her black, tight leather outfit, she doesn’t look like a rogue, she looks like a superstar from a movie. She holds a leather whip in one hand and when one of the wolves at her side growls, she cracks its snout with the whip before anyone can even react. She walks towards Callum, towards us, but stays at a safe distance.
“ Callum, darling..its been to long..you look good as always “ she says in a sweet, honey dripping voice.
“ Magda..what are you doing here? “ Callum answered
“ Oh, just came by to get a friend..we tried to blow him out but you did a good job building this place. Luckily we found this..mutt..and she just happened to have the keys.” Magda motioned her hand and Olivias body was dragged forward and tossed in the space between us. She wasn’t dead, we should have felt the snap of the bond if she was, but she was badly injured.
“ Where is Fredrick?” I asked and narrowed my eyes at her, but she didn’t pay me any attention, her eyes was still on Callum
“ So, how are things? “ she tossed her ponytail over her shoulder and bating her long lashes at Callum.
“ I think my mate asked you a question.”
“ Your mate?” finally she turned to me, her eyes wandering up and down my body.
“ Where is Fredrick?” I asked again
“ Oh, he is long gone sugar, I don’t know what you gave him but he wasn’t feeling to good. “
“ Thats ok..I’m sure I’ll meet him again. Maybe it’s not so bad after all, now we have a free cell! I can’t say it’s comfortable but it’s clean and even has a toilet. It must feel like luxury to you, right? Then you avoid sleeping in the forest and peeing behind bushes..like a common rogue!” I smirked at her, watching anger and a hint of madness flash in her eyes.
“ What pack did you say you are from?” The sweet voice was gone, replaced by an ugly growl.
“ Oh, I’m not from any pack. “
“And you dare address a Luna as a rogue?!”
“ Sorry, but I don’t see a Luna here..just a bitch with a whip..” I hear the chuckles from my people around me. Infront of me I see the black leather shred and fall to the ground as white fur takes its place and soon Magdas wolf is standing there, growling and showing her fangs. Her fur is as matted as the rest of the wolves in front of me. But she is bigger.
I shook my head at her, starting to take my jacket of..I really like that jacket. After tossing it to Callum I turned against the wall of vampires and wolves.
“ Children of the night..I give you one chance to leave this place without any bloodshed.” I say and look at them. They looked at eachother before one stepped forward, a cocky attitude on his face. As he passed Magda he stroked her fur, making her growling stop. He was so close to me that I could feel the familiar smell of wet gravel.
“ Now, why would we leave without any blood?” He smiled, showing me his stained fangs. I could feel the pack behind me tense up, especially Callum so I turned my head a little, giving him a wink. Doing so, I exposed my neck to the cocky vampire. It all happened very fast after that. He lunged forward, aiming for my neck, I turned and hooked my arm around his, holding him in front of me, again facing the wall. I pressed my other wrist against his lips, tearing it on his fangs.
“ You want my blood? Have at it!” I say as his mouth is starting to suck..one sip, two..and then I let go, stepping away from the twitching body on the ground.
“ You now know who I am..so I give you one more chance to leave..” I again address the vampires. They slowly starting to separate them self’s from the wolves around them retreating back against the woods.
“ I want five warriors following them, make sure they cross our borders “ I say through the link.
Magdas wolf is sniffing the dead man on the ground and let out a angry growling howl, motioning the rogues behind her to attack, and that is my sign to shift and let Luna take over. As we land on our paws, I can feel how disappointed and annoyed she is. She is towering them all, and the ones in the frontline abruptly stops.
“STAND DOWN!” She growls through the link. Her demand is clear and her aura is on full display. The wolves fall to the ground, whining and baring their necks. Pain and surprise is flooding there eyes. They haven’t been connected to anyone for years, if ever, and the sound of Lunas demand in their head must feel like a knife, slowly cutting into their brains. She turned to the white shewolf on the ground..even though she was lying there baring her neck like everyone else, she didn’t stop growling and the madness was clear in her eyes. I could feel the sadness in Luna’s heart, losing one of her children like this. She walked over and bent down, locking eyes with Magdas wolf.
“ LEAVE HER!!!” She growled through the link. I see the wolf starting to shake, putting up a fight. What did she mean? What did she want the wolf to do?
“ I SAID, LEAVE HER!!!” I felt her aura grow even stronger and she aimed it at the wolf in front of her. As I watch the wolf leave Magda’s body, I feel Luna’s soul absorb and destroy it. The woman on the ground was sobbing and shaking, trying to hide her naked body. She wasn’t even pretty anymore, the madness was still there, but the feral part was gone. I shifted back and Callum hurried to take his shirt off and cover me up, growling at any male looking my way. I looked at all the rogues, they were still on the ground but since Luna pulled her aura back when I shifted, they were no longer baring their necks. They all looked att me with mixed expressions. Admiration, curiosity, respect and shame. I walked around among them, letting Luna feel what she wanted to do next. Then I let her speak through me.
“ I never want to do that again..”she says, looking at Magda..” I cant make you all get along at all times..and I cant tell you how to live your lives. I will however stop you if I have to. You can leave in peace, no one here will harm you..you can also come back, if you need to see me, I will be here..” They all sat up around me, tilting their heads back and howled, then they took of into the woods and I felt most of my energy leave me and I sat down on the ground. Callum was by my side immediately.
“Are you ok? What happened? “ He ask, looking at Magda and then back to me.
“ Can someone please help her cover up? Take her in to the city, leave her at a human hospital..we cant do anything more for her.” I say and two of the warriors picked her up and went straight for the parking lot outside prison. Lucas and Leo had already picked up Olivia and headed for the clinic.
“ Hope..please talk to me..” Callum pleaded, stroking my hair and my back as he sat beside me.
“ I killed it..or Luna did..we..apparently we can not only give a wolf to a human, we can take it away as well..she absorbed it. Magda no longer has a wolf, she is now a human..how about that” I sigh, I know in my bones it was the right thing to do, Magda wasn’t the evil one, her wolf was. Still, Magda would probably spend the rest of her life in a mental institution and that didn’t feel good either.
“Come, lets go home.” Callum say and drag me back on my feet, wrapping his arm around my waist. Cathy and Reece joins us and we all walk back to the house in silent, me in deep thoughts about all that had happened.
A roar from Reece snaps me out of it and as I look a head my body turns cold. I throw my arm our and push Reece back, trying to stop him from attacking. On the front steps to the pack house is Fredrick. Holding Maya, blood is running down her neck.
“I couldn’t leave before tasting this pretty blond one more time.” He smirks, licking his bloody lips.
“ I gave you a chance Fredrick, I will not do that mistake again “ I say as I slowly walk towards him. He barks out a laughter before he buries his teeth in Mayas neck again, and I start to run, just like Theresa on the battlefield, she ran to save Charles, I’m running to save my best friend.
