Chapter 66 - Unexpected company

**Hopes pov**

I leave the warmth beside Callum and stand up..since he wasn’t a sleep yet, he notice and rose up on his elbow. Before he can say anything I speak through the link.
“Shhh..something is going on..Joe is talking to someone outside..a vampire!”
I slowly make my way up against the entrance.
“ Joe, buddy..please, he is coming here, you need to leave!”
“This is our home..we will defend it, we outnumber him anyway.
“ You could be fifty, it doesn’t matter, he will kill you all if he feels threatened, if you think I am strong..My father is ten times stronger..”
“And who might that be? Your father?”..I step out of the shadows and stare the man Joe is arguing with in the eyes.
I can tell right away he is a trueborn. Just like Fredrick he is not as pale or sickly looking as other vampires I have seen. On the contrary, he looks very good.
His eye color is hard to determine, his eyes are very dark. His physique is slim but muscular, similar to an athletic swimmer. His hair is in a tousled modern hairstyle, short at the nape, slightly longer in the front and it seems to be highlighted. The stubble on his chin is calculated, look unshaven but sexy. Worst of all..he looks genuinely kind.
“ Hope..” Joe turn around so fast to the sound of my voice that his neck might be in danger.
“ This is Antonio..Tony..and before you say anything, yes, he is a vampire..but one of the good ones. He helps us with our traits..he has been for years. He is really a good guy..please Luna, he means no harm..”
I narrow my eyes at the man standing on the other side of Joe. Luna is scratching, she wants to shift and bite his head off..pictures of Maya, bloody on the ground is playing in my mind.
Easy girl..Its not Fredrick..I know he is a vampire, but that is not his fault..can we please at least listen before we rip him apart?..
“ Hope…Like in the Hope from The Great Falls Pack?” The vampire obviously named Tony says. I don’t reply, just keep on staring at him.
“Yes, yes, she and her company is from The Great Falls..” Joe says
Then I see something that has me confused..blows my mind actually..The trueborn..Tony, takes a knee..
“ Luna!..I am so honored to meet you. I as so many others have only heard the stories..the tales..I know you hate my kind, but please belive me..my vision of the future is something else..I don’t have anything against your kind..on the contrary, I find you intriguing..” He keeps his eyes to the ground, like I am actually some kind of royalty. I feel Luna is calming down a bit, as curious as I am.
“I asked you a question..who is your father?” I say, my voice comes out stern.
“ Ambrogio..Ambrogio is my father..my master..and he is on his way here.”
“Why?”
“ Well..its an odd situation..you see, he met a.. he met a girl..not a vampire, a hybrid, she has a wolf..or atleast I think she does..he is showing her around..” he frowns.
*I prayed to my Goddess.. to yours, and to his own, the father of humans..asking for them to bring him a mate*
Zandras words is ringing in my head..they really answered her prayers?
“Hope, what do you want to do?” Callum stands behind me and I can feel the others to.
“Tony!” I hear the girl named Susanne call before she pushes through us and jump up in his arms.
“ Hey pretty girl! You have grown, you are almost a woman now.” He chuckle and let her down back on the ground. She turn and look at me, I can see the worry in her eyes.
“ Please Luna..Hope..don’t hurt him. Tony is a friend, to us and to our kind.” She say in a pleading voice.
“So I’ve been told..” I narrow my eyes at the vampire behind her.
“Hope..we need a plan. If Ambrogio shows up, this could turn in to a bloodbath” Callum turns me around to get my attention, I see the rest of them already in fighting mode. All but Maya, she has her sight on Tony and her fists clenched.
“ Well, its to late now..”I hear Tony mumble behind me.
“ Antonio, what the fuck is this?” The voice I knew all to well said. I turn around and link everybody.
“ I want you all behind me, you to Joe, back away slowly”
“Father..please, they live here and have been for a while. You know my attitude towards the wolves, you know that I want us to be able to co-exist..I help this pack in between and when I heard that you were coming here I felt that I had to warn them..but there is something you should know.”
“ Right now I don’t want to hear another word from you.” Ambrogio say. His eyes wandering over all the people in the cave as he slowly takes a few steps forward. The girl beside him looks very familiar. What did Tony say? A hybrid? “ Can you feel her wolf? Is she hostile? I ask Luna but she dosen’t answer, she is to busy following Ambrogio’s every move. Everybody followed my order and stood behind me, Callum right behind me, his hands on my hips.
“ So..a pack of..wolves..in my cave? Who gave you the right? Do you even know the history of this place?” He said and I can’t help to roll my eyes. Is he for real? His cave? When was this ever his cave?
“We know it well enough to say your present here is unholy..this cave is not for you or your kind” Joe say behind me.
Ambrogio turns his golden eyes on the defiant man. But he doesn’t say anything, instead I hear the woman next to him mumble something and Joe falls to the ground screaming..A little smile plays on her lips as she look to her man and wink.
“Zara? Fuck..Zara is that you?” I hear Cathy say and the woman lets Joe go
“Cathy? What are you doing here? Callum, you to? Did something happen to the pack?”
“ Hrm..” Ambrogio clears his throat to get her attention.
“Oh, this is Alpha Callum and his sister Cathy, from the Great Falls Pack”
“What the fuck is going on? Who is she?” I link Callum
“ That is Zara, Zandras great granddaughter” He answer and I understand why she looks so familiar.
Ambrogio’s eyes goes to Callum and to his hands on my hips, a little frown on his face gets replaced by surprise and realization.
“ Luna..how?..” His voice is barley a whisper as he takes two long steps towards me. A lot of growls of warning from the group behind me snaps him out of it and he stops.
I again see Zara moving her lips.
“ Don’t you dare pull that shit again” I roar at her, unleashing Lunas aura. If she has a wolf she will feel it, and she does. She fall to her knees and bare her neck. I keep her there while I turn to Ambrogio.
“Now, this situation can get a few different outcome, there are a lot of heated emotions in this crowded space.” I say. I am nervous as hell, I could never have imagined this..but I refuse to let it show. Callum still has his hands on my hips, ready to pull me away if the devil attack. But he dosen’t. He looks at me for a minute before he draws a deep breath, chuckles and shakes his head.
“You would never belive what a week I’ve had..its been a rollercoaster for sure. I have no wish to fight you tonight, what I would like, however, is to have a little talk with you, privately, a chat between two old enemies. Would that be possible?” He sound very polite. Shall I grant his request?..He dosen’t have his children with him. I watch as he crouches down next to Zara and strokes her back, so I release my grip on her so he can help her up.
“ Thank you..Zara and Tony will stay with your friends, as an assurance that I keep my word.” He say and kisses Zara on her forehead.
“Hope, I don’t like this” Callum is holding on to me tight.
“It’s ok, I’ll be fine, we are just stepping out for a little while..I leave the link open, what did you call it?..a live feed?” I give him a reassuring smile and walk past Ambrogio and out of the cave. Luna is pacing back and forth in my head, not sure what to expect. She has fought him so many times and she knows how deceiving his ways can be. Just keep your eyes open for the smallest sign, ok? She calms down and prepare her self on the task.
I walk about one hundred feet from the cave before choosing a rock to sit down on, and I wait. It only takes a minute, before he take a seat on the rock in front of me, his golden eyes never leaves me.
