Chapter 90 - Drugged

**Hopes pov**

*“Is it true Luna?* *Can you feel her?* *Can you feel our baby?”*
I don’t get any confirmation from her, maybe it’s too early yet..the conversation with my father replays in my head again.
“Hope, I have something I want to tell you, but I can’t do it when you’re dressed as a wolf” I growl at him and he takes a step back, for a second I see fear in him but it disappears just as quickly. He turns his back to me and waits for me to do as he asks. Again, I want to stay here in Luna’s body, it feels safer and I don’t have to talk to anyone, but in the end I do as he says. I quickly put on the clothes laid out on my bed and sit down in the armchair.
“My wolf is not a masquerade costume! Her name is Luna and you’d be wise to remember that.” I narrow my eyes at him as he turns around.
He pulls a chair a little closer and sits opposite me.
“Hope, this stunt you pulled today..this can’t happen again, what if I wasen’t here? You could have been killed!” He’s trying to sound concerned but I can tell it’s not honest.
“Stunt?..You call it a stunt? I was defending my self! Your fucking handy man set those two on me, they were going to rape me and I bet he told them to!” I can see he wasen’t informed about everything that happened.
“I will deal with him, it won’t happen again. Now, I’ve been busy the last few days, we’ve made great progress with your blood and will soon be able to purify your DNA, any day now. We got a little confused because it wasn’t just two strings, it was four. At first we thought it had to do with your..Luna..but after looking at old charts of your blood we were able to confirm that there were two new strands.” He sits quiet and looks at me before he smiles.
“Hope, you are pregnant! Isn’t that great news? Not only can I purify you but I can help your child before it is even born!” I feel myself getting really cold inside. Could this be true? That I’m pregnant..or is that something he’s saying to keep me calm?
“You really don’t get it do you? You can’t take the wolf out of a werewolf and still have a functioning human! I said it before, you will only fill the mental hospitals! Please listen to me!” I try to make him understand but before I can say anything else he continues.
“When you are both free, so many possibilities are created. You will never be hunted, your blood will still be deadly to the vampires so unfortunately you’ll both have to contribute it every now and then. But you can be my heir again..take my place at the table eventually. And my grandchild after you.” He looked really happy now and it’s scary. How can he think he can convince me that this is a good thing?
“How does it work?”
“It is done with a number of injections. I don’t know how many will be required in your case, we are currently testing unranked, their DNA doesn’t seem to be as strong as yours. We have had slightly different results. First we seperate the strings with a blocker, to block the wolfDNA, when it is done we can erase it without hurting the human” Luna is going crazy in my head and I understand her..They have already started killing her children..
“How..hrm..how did you get the werewolves?”
“They are vagabonds, loners who allow themselves to be hired for various projects in between. Perhaps we were not completely honest in informing them about what we were going to do.” He chuckled as if he did something mischievous.
“Rogues?..You trick rogues wolves in to your experiments?”
“They make good money from it. When they then start their new human lives, they won’t miss anything. They will be well off financially and not live in the isolation they did before.” He defended him self.
“This is just the beginning Hope..what we can accomplish with today’s resources..think in the future, when we refine our research and only one injection is enough..we will be able to purify thousands in a day.”He stood up and put the chair back.
“You will receive an extra tablet with your vitamins today. It is a sedative medicine. I want to be honest with you. After your dinner and blood draw, you will be picked up and taken to an examination room. I don’t want any accidents on the way so I suggest you take it.” He moves towards the door.
I fight the impulse to attack him, I wouldn’t get far and my life without him here would be much, much harder.
Luna is pacing in my head as I am pacing the room. Every now and then I glare up at the camera, the red lamp shows me its on. Mercedes came in after my father left and replaced the needle in my arm, my collar and wristbands, she advised me not to push it, the electricity could be harmful for the baby. *“Tell me you could block it for reaching the baby?”* I asked Luna and she answered me with the warm feeling, the Luna hug.
The hatch in the wall opened and the familiar tray was sent in. Mashed potatoes and fried fish. Peas, carrots. Juice and water, a blood bag and several pills.
Since I don’t know which pill is which, I didn’t take any of them but flushed them down the toilet instead. There’s no way in hell I’m letting them take me drugged into an examination room. But after I ate the food and emptied the contents of both paper cups, I realized that they were one step ahead of me. They probably suspected that I wouldn’t take the pills..they drugged my food. Please Luna..whatever they give me..hide..please hide..After that, everything turns black.
“If it was up to me we would have given her the injections right now..I will enjoy erasing her wolf. Let’s see how cocky she is after that.”
“You are aware that she is Bugatti’s daughter right? After this, she can become your boss, she can become the highest at the table.”
“Sure, if she survives and keeps her sanity.”
“I’d be damn careful if I were you. Bugatti doesn’t take kindly to those who piss him off.” I listen to the two men talking and I can tell one of them is Mr Landrover, the other one is new. I try to feel my situation. I’m strapped in the same way I was the first day I was here. The smells around me are cold and sterile. I can feel they have done something to my neck and my arms.
“Ah, miss Hope! You are awake.” Mr Landrover’s voice is filled with contempt.
I open my eyes. Just like before I cant move my head and the ceiling looks pretty much the same as every ceiling I’ve seen since I got here.
To a buzzing sound I feel my bed begin to rise and more of the room becomes visible. It resembles a smaller operating room. Besides Landrover there is a younger man. Thirty years maybe. He is thin and lanky, the hair is swept to the side and needs to be trimmed. He has glasses, a smooth chin, I doubt he was even able to grow a beard. He looks at me uncertainly and when Luna growls he stumbles backwards.
“Miss Hope!!” Landrover warns annoyed. I turn my gaze towards him. One side of his face is a little redder than the other and I remember Luna’s tail hitting him there earlier.
“That looks like it’s burning, maybe you should put some ointment on it?” I gloat.
“You can try to mock me all you want..we just put bigger ports in your arms and your neck for the injections” He comes closer and I feel his breath on my face.
“I will kill your wolf and I will enjoy every second of it.” he hisses in my ear.
“Not if she kills you first..she can’t wait to rip your head off” I spit out the words but he dosen’t flinch. At first he just look at me and then he barks out a laughter.
“There you have it Mr. Ford. Do you see how delusional they are? They really believe that the wolf is its own person with its own will and not a wild beast.” The young man nods uncertainly, still keeping a safe distance from me.
“The only one who is delusional is you..You guys really think you’re going to pull this off..” Before I can say anything else or Mr Landrover could reply the door opens and my father comes in.
“You can take her back to her room, we start the injections tomorrow.” He say to the young man, Mr Ford
“Tomorrow? I was under the impression we were going to start today?” Mr Landrover sounded like a child who got told to wait with its favourite snack.
“We start tomorrow when the new supervisor arrives.” My father answered with a harsh voice.
“But..I am here, I am the supervisor.” Mr Landrover tried to stand his ground but he seemed to shrink as Bugatti drilled his cold eyes into him.
“You attempted to have my daughter raped, I dont want you anywhere near her.”
Even the red mark from Luna’s tail seemed to disappear as the color left Mr Landrover’s face. He probably knew he was screwed. I gave him a wink and a sympathetic smile dripping with sarcasm.
Back in my room, I curl up in bed. The drugs are still very active in my body and Luna feels far away..I really hope that the plan to get me out of here has been put into action, I don’t have much time left..we don’t have much time left.
